Abstract

This study aims to improve the mastery of Indonesian vocabulary in early childhood 5-6 years in TK Kartina Garut Regency. The focus of his research is on the application of the Reggio Emilia Approach (REA) assisted by flash card media to improve the mastery of Indonesian vocabulary in early childhood 5-6 years. This research is in the form of Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the aim of improving or increasing vocabulary mastery in early childhood. The analysis shows that this media is useful to be used as an introduction to the mastery of Indonesian children's vocabulary. The percentage increase in mastery of Indonesian vocabulary before action / pre-cycle was 49.44%, cycle I 61.94%, cycle II 77.22%, and cycle III 86.94%. Increased mastery of Indonesian vocabulary through flash card, namely mastery of Indonesian vocabulary in group B children in TK Kartina. The child can mimic some Indonesian vocabulary, mention the name of the object shown, and show some of the pictures requested. Teachers are more creative in conveying learning because by using flasch cards they are more motivated to increase all scope of development by using attractive media according to the teacher's creation

Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of interactive multimedia aided social cognitive model in early reading learning, implemented to improve students’ early reading skills. The model was implemented to 195 first- and second-graders in an elementary school in Bandung. Descriptive statistics analysis was conducted to measure the difference in students’ ability before and after the treatment, based on the result of pre- and post-test using EGRA instrument. Results of this study indicated that social cognitive learning could be combined with interactive multimedia to effectively improve students’ early reading ability. However, further study is required to understand why the model contributed lower significance towards improvement of word-reading skill than towards improvement of other aspects of early reading skills.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang membuat pemahaman konsep siswa tidak terbentuk secara utuh dan komprehensif adalah pembelajaran yang tidak sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan siswa sekolah dasar. Terlebih lagi pembelajaran berbicara pada pelaksanaan maupun penilaiannya tidak sesuai dengan kompetensi yang hendak dicapai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran awal pembelajaran pemahaman konsep dan berbicara dengan menggunakan strategi partisipatif melalui media gambar denah dan kartu pancing foto. Pendekatan penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode Pra-eksperimen desain Perbandingan Kelompok Statis atau Rancangan Postes Terhadap Kelompok-Kelompok Non-Ekuivalen (Statistic Group Comparison or Postest Only With Nonequivalent Groups). Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini mengambil sampel penelitian, kelas IV-A SDN Layungsari 1 kota Bogor sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan dan kelas IV-B SDN Bubulak kota Bogor sebagai kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan non random sampling. Jumlah sampel pada kedua kelompok populasi diambil jumlah yang sama yaitu 21 orang.Berdasarkan hasil uji t-tes, hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep antara hasil postes kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol serta terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berbicara antara hasil postes kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol.  Direkomendasikan untuk dilakukan kajian lebih lanjut mengenai pembelajaran pemahaman konsep dan berbicara dengan menggunakan strategi  partisipatif melalui media gambar denah dan kartu pancing foto. Kata Kunci: Strategi partisipatif, Pemahaman konsep, Pembelajaran berbicara One of the factors that make students' understanding of the concept is not formed completely and comprehensively is learning that does not  accordance with the characteristics of the development of elementary school students. Moreover, learning to speak on the implementation and the assessment does not accordance with the competence to be achieved. This research aimed to obtain an overview of early learning understanding of the concept and talking by using  participatory strategy through media ” gambar denah” and “kartu pancing foto”. This research is a quantitative approach using pre-experimental comparison group design Static or design Postes Groups Against Non-Equivalent (Statistics Group Comparison or posttest Only With Nonequivalent Groups). The research subjects in this study took a sample of research, class IV-A SDN Layungsari 1 Bogor as the experimental group and class IV-B and SDN Bubulak Bogor as a control group. The sampling technique using non-random sampling. The number of samples in both groups were taken the same number of population is 21 people. Based on the test results of t-test, the results showed there are differences between the understanding of the concept of post-test results of the experimental group and the control group, and there are differences in speech between the results posttest experimental group and the control group. Recommended for further study on the understanding of the concept of learning and talking using a participatory strategy through media “gambar denah” and “kartu pancing foto”.Keywords: Participatory strategy, Understanding of the concepts, Learning to speak.

Abstract

This study developed a learning model to improve students’ early reading skills in Indonesia. The model is based on social cognitive learning theory and is implemented using interactive multimedia. The research method uses Design-Based Research (DBR) and the subjects are 195 first and second graders of an elementary school in Bandung, West Java. The findings of the study show that social cognitive learning can be integrated and implemented through interactive multimedia and that interactive-multimedia-assisted social cognitive model (IMAS Model) can improve early reading skills. Students’ average early reading skill scores were measured using Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) instrument before and after intervention to see the effectiveness of the model. Pre-test – post-test results comparison showed that students’ average early reading scores increased after learning using IMAS Model. Students’ average scores of reading letters, reading syllables, reading words, reading sentences, and reading comprehension skills at pre-test were 78.06, 67.06, 60.92, 55.21, and 44.95, respectively. These scores respectively increased to 92.71, 92.45, 88.58, 74.60, and 87.08 at post-test, indicating that IMAS Model is effective to increase early reading skills.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian berjudul Ginokritik terhadap Novel Tanah Tabu Karya Anindita S. Thayf bertujuan mengkaji tulisan perempuan yang menceritakan perempuan dengan menggunakan teori ginokritik dari Showalter (1981) hanya melalui model penulisan perempuan dan psikologi perempuan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian ini berupa teks dari isi cerita novel Tanah Tabu. Intertekstual tulisan laki-laki dalam tulisan perempuan telah hadir sejak permulaan abad 20. Namun, sejumlah besar pengarang perempuan pada Angkatan 2000 menunjukkan kemandirian mereka dalam menggunakan penulisan biologi, bahasa, psiklogi, dan budaya perempuan. Intertekstual feminisme laki-laki dalam novel pengarang perempuan Angkatan 2000 mulai menghilang. Hal ini adalah entitas dari kemandirian feminisme pengarang perempuan. Itu artinya, pengarang perempuan mampu menghasilkan teks sendiri yakni, tidak mengadopsi kembali ciri khas tulisan laki-laki ke dalam karya mereka. Salah satu kemandirian tersebut terdapat pada novel Tanah Tabu karangan Anindita S. Thayf. Sebagai penyampai pesan, Thayf banyak menghasilkan teks bermuatan psikologi pada karyanyanya. Berdasarkan kajian, ditemukan 75 buah teks lisan dan tulisan bermuatan psikologi pada beberapa tokoh perempuan. Hal itu merupakan cerminan dari psikologi Thayf sebagai pengarangnya. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan dosen dan mahasiswa pada mata kuliah kajian prosa fiksi, dan dapat dijadikan rujukan bagi para peneliti lain dengan sumber data berbeda namun pendekatan serupa.  KATA KUNCI: Ginokritik; penulisan perempuan dan psikologi perempuan; novel Tanah Tabu GYNOCRITICISM AGAINST TANAH TABU NOVEL BY ANINDITA S. THAYF ABSTRACT: The research entitled Gynocriticism against Tanah Tabu Novel by Anindita S. Thayf aims to examine women's writings that tell women by using Showalter's (1981) gynocritic theory only through women's writing models and women's psychology. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research is in the form of text from the content of the Tanah Tabu novel. Intertextual writing of men in writing of women has existed since the beginning of the 20th century. However, a large number of female authors in the Angkatan 2000 demonstrated their independence in using women's biology, language, psychology, and cultural writing. The intertextual male feminism in the novels of female authors Angkatan 2000 is disappearing. This is the entity of the independent feminism of female authors. That means, female authors are able to produce their own texts, that is, not to re-adopt the characteristics of male writing into their works. One of these independence is found in the Tanah Tabu novel by Anindita S. Thayf. As a messenger, Thayf produces a lot of psychologically charged texts in his work. Based on the study, it was found that 75 oral and written texts containing psychology were found in several female characters. This is a reflection of Thayf's psychology as the author. The results of this study can be used by lecturers and students in the course of fiction prose studies, and can be used as a reference for other researchers with different data sources but with a similar approach. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi hasil observasi dengan guru tentang fenomena pengembangan karakter anak melalui media cerita yang tidak sesuai dengan perkembangan anak usia 5-6 tahun. Diasumsikan cerita yang selama ini digunakan guru belum bermuatan karakter. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model cerita untuk penguatan karakter anak usia dini. Fokus karakter dalam cerita yang dikembangkan, yaitu: jujur; peduli lingkungan, dan peduli sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian dan pengembangan. Proses analisisnya, menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dari hasil observasi terhadap respons guru sebagai pengguna. Adapun Langkahlangkahnya: potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk. Penelitian ini menghasilkan produk berupa 3 judul cerita: Janji Kardosi, Cerita dariSamudera, dan Pipit dan Elang. Kelayakan buku menggunakan 2 kriteria, yaitu kriteria pembelajaran (instructional criteria) dan kriteria penampilan (presentation criteria).Validasi dilakukan oleh akademisi(uji ahli media) dan praktisi di bidang pendidikan anak usia dini. Sementara itu, keterbacaan ketiga judul buku cerita tersebut dilakukan terhadap 6 orang guru TK. Berdasarkan kriteria pembelajaran, buku cerita yang dikembangkan telah memiliki nilai karakter jujur, peduli lingkungan, dan peduli sosial, sedangkan dari kriteria penampilannya (ilustrasi) mampu memperjelas rangkaian cerita, latar, penjiwaan, dan karakter dengan sangat baik. Selain itu, berdasarkan aspek perkembangan anak, buku yang dibuat sudah memiliki tampilan visual lebih dominan gambar dibandingkan teks dan jenis huruf pada buku cerita memiliki tingkat keterbacaan yang baik bagi anak-anak.

Abstract

Cross cultural communication based on cyberspace is one part of the globalization era. The virtual world becomes a multicultural communication space that forms a new culture. This research was conducted to analyze the politeness of language in cyberspace. Conversations from 10 Twitter accounts of politicians were used as a source of data for this study and analyzed using Leech politeness maxim theory. This research was conducted using qualitative descriptive methods. The results of this study indicate that the violations of politeness maxim that often occur are violations of the maxim of wisdom, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of appreciation, and maxim of simplicity. Violations of politeness in language are manifested in the form of hoaxes and hate speech. This happens because when people communicate in cyberspace, they embrace a new communication culture that lacks ethical considerations and tastes. The Communication Culture of the Cyberspace in the Perspective of Language Politeness. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that a new communication culture has been created on social media. Communication culture is a blend of various cultures in Indonesia, even in the world. The integration of communication cultures occurs as a result of globalization. There has been a shift in the culture of communication, especially in the perspective of politeness in language.

Abstract

Argumentation Pattern on Genres of Exposition Texts by High School Students. This article aims to describe the pattern of argumentation in the essays of student expositions based on the theoretical study of Toulmin's Argumentation Pattern (TAP). The documentation technique was used in data collection in sources in the form of expositions of class X students from five schools in Makassar City, namely Makassar 14 High School (24 data), Makassar 4 Public High School, Makassar 9 Public High School, Athirah Makassar Islamic High School, and SMA Tri Tunggal 45 Makassar. The results of the analysis show nine argumentation patterns produced in the exposition essay, ranging from the most basic and simple patterns to the most complex patterns, namely (1) C-D, (2) C-D-W, (3) C-D-Q, (4) C-D-R, (5) C-D-W-B, (6) C-D-W-Q, (7) C-D-W-R, (8) C-D-Q-R, and (9) C-D-W-B-Q.

Abstract

This research and development aimed to achieve 2 main objectives: to develop a mind mapping model based on prophetic values in writing exposition texts, and to describe and discuss the profile of mind mapping model based on prophetic values in writing exposition texts. This model was developed by using 4D model (definition, design, development, and dissemination) which was modified to 3DI (definition, design, development, and implementation) . This research was conducted in the academic year 2019/2020 at a high school in Bandung. The instruments of this research were questionnaires and observation sheets that fulfilled the validity and reliability requirements. The initial product was tested on a limited trial in X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah Bandung. Then, the revised product was tested extensively in 2 classes, namely X IPA-3 and X IPS-5. The last procedure in this research was the dissemination of the final product prototype, which was teaching materials entitled Mind Mapping Based on Porphetic Values: Teaching Materials for Writing Exposition Texts for Grade X SMA/MA. This teaching material consisted of 30 pages, A4, time new roman, 12 automatic spaces outside the start page of 7. Ho was rejected for the paired sample t test because the sig. 0.037 < p = 0.05 for class X IPA-3 and the sig. 0.037 < p = 0.05 for class X IPS-5. Thisproduct was believed to contribute to the process of learning writing exposition texts at high schools. After that, as users, the Indonesian teachers scored in mode 4 for a scale of 1 to 4 for the 4 feasibility indicators. The score mode of 4 also occured in the assessment given by the expert team.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan skor afektif dan psikomotorik siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dan model pembelajaran Value Clarification Technology (VCT) pada pembelajaran menulis argumentasi kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Cisarua tahun pelajaran 2020/2021. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental semu, dan jumlah seluruh siswa kelas X adalah 30 orang. Sedangkan jumlah sampel penelitian mengambil seluruh jumlah populasi. Data tentang nilai afektif dan psikomotor siswa dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik parameter. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah 1) perbandingan hasil perhitungan hasil belajar ranah afektif siswa dengan perhitungan uji-t menunjukan bahwa besar thitung 2,910 dan perolehan nilai ttabel pada taraf signifikan 0,05 sebesar 2,013. 2) perhitungan hasil belajar ranah psikomotor siswa dengan perhitungan uji-t menunjukan bahwa besar thitung 3,714 dan perolehan nilai ttabel pada taraf signifikan 0,05 sebesar 2,000. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar ranah afektif dan psikomotor siswa yang signifikan dengan model pembelajaran VCT (Value Clarification Technique) yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan menulis argumentasi.
