Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemahiran anak-anak bilingual dalam menceritakan kembali isi cerita ke dalam dua bahasa yang mereka kuasai, yaitu bahasa Sunda sebagai bahasa ibu dan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa kedua. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa sebuah film pendek tanpa suara berdurasi enam menit berjudul The Pear Story. Objek yang diteliti adalah para siswa Sekolah Dasar pada tingkat 4,5,dan 6 dari tiga buah Sekolah Dasar yang terletak di Kecamatan Cihampelas Kabupaten Bandung Barat . Mereka ditugaskan menuliskan isi cerita film yang telah ditontonnya ke dalam Bahasa Sunda dan ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Tulisan mereka dibandingkan berdasarkan jumlah kata dan panjang pendeknya kalimat yang mereka gunakan dalam tulisan itu. Hasilnya menunjukkan, siswa yang diteliti lebih banyak menggunakan kata dalam tulisan yang berbahasa Indonesia dibandingkan dengan tulisannya yang berbahasa Sunda. Semakin tinggi tingkat kelas maka semakin banyak jumlah kata yang digunakan dalam tulisan berbahasa Indonesia. Interferensi bahasa terjadi pada narasi dalam Bahasa Sunda dari segi kosakata, sedangkan dalam narasi berbahasa Indonesia tidak ditemukan interferensi Bahasa Sunda dari segi kosakata. Interferensi terjadi pada tulisan berbahasa Indonesia dari segi struktur kalimat. Berdasarkan data di atas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan anak-anak bilingual dalam menuliskan kembali cerita yang telah ditontonnya lebih baik yang menggunakan bahasa Indonesia dibandingkan dengan yang menggunakan bahasa Sunda.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of students' ability to write exposition texts in accordance with the structure and students tend to be difficult in making an exposition text. The researcher formulated the problem namely, whether the Think Pair Share method could improve students' ability to write exposition text. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in the value of writing exposition student text at the pretest and posttest stages using the Think Pair Share method. This study uses a one group pretest post-test design method. The results of student grades at the time of the pretest and posttest were treated using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. Quantitatively the researcher processes student grade data to look for mean scores and comparison of pre-test and post-test scores, while qualitative analysis techniques describe the results of student grade data. The sample in this study was class VIII, amounting to 30 students. The results showed that there was an increase in students' writing ability using the Think Pair Share method at the time of the posttest with the acquisition of an average that was greater than the pretest. The pretest obtained an average of 60, then at the posttest stage obtained an average of 80. Thus the use of Think Pair Share method is effectively used in exposition text writing activities because it can improve students' ability to write exposition text and can improve student grades.

Abstract

Competencies that must be mastered by students include communicative, critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative. However, two of the four competencies are still weak. This is evident from observations during lectures, student collaboration and communication during discussions dominated by certain students. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of the application of the TBL learning model in improving student collaboration and communication in the Indonesian Learning Evaluation course through lesson study. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. The research subjects were lecturers of the Learning Evaluation Course and 36 third semester students in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. Data collection is done through observation. Data analysis was carried out by observers by giving scores for each indicator of student collaboration and communication. The data obtained is analyzed quantitatively descriptively which then becomes the basis for improving learning. The results showed that the application of the TBL model could be carried out well with scores obtained at the first meeting of 86.5 and 91.1 at the second meeting. Likewise, students' communication and collaboration skills have improved, namely students contribute actively to learning, work productively, show flexibility and compromise, show responsibility and show respect between friends. The average score of students' communication and collaboration skills was 72.55 at the first meeting and 88.5 at the second meeting. This shows that the use of TBL is effective in improving student collaboration and communication in the classroom.

Abstract

The development of learning materials is a demand that is needed in the future, especially the application of hybrid learning. The use of hybrid learning materials is very urgent to anticipate the situation, both offline learning, computer-based learning, and online learning. This research aims to develop a STEAM-based teaching material model with a Flipbook application for Indonesian Language subjects in class X of high school. The method used is research and development (R&D) with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, and validation. Descriptive-qualitative analysis was applied, and the test results showed an average increase of 0.567 (medium category). The average difference between the initial test and the final test was 23.8, which indicates that this STEAM-based teaching material is effective for use at the high school level.

Abstract

The skills of evaluating and criticizing the content of articles in academia are very important. This study aims to evaluate the extent to which the reviews made by students after reading journals can be considered appropriate, especially in the context of academic reading-based learning. The research focuses on journal reading activities as the main foundation for students in expressing their understanding through journal review texts. This study used descriptive qualitative method with the research subject of 1st year students of Poltekkes Kemenkes Bandung Department of Health Promotion. Data collection techniques used tests, assessment guidelines, and observation. The results showed that the students' ability to compile reviews of journal reading results was classified as very good. The assessment which includes aspects of accuracy in filling in identity, orientation, summary, analysis, and evaluation has been fulfilled. Students can write journal reviews in a structured and systematic manner. Students have also been able to synthesize information from journals that affect the quality of the academic text reviews produced. It can be concluded that this article can provide a detailed view of the evaluation process of students' journal review assignments, as well as the potential for improvement and development in literature-based learning in academic settings.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru SMA dalam menyusun instrumen asesmen literasi membaca berbasis Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Tujuan utama dari workshop ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman mendalam kepada para guru mengenai konsep HOTS serta penerapannya dalam pembuatan soal yang mampu mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis, analitis, dan evaluatif siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah penyuluhan dalam bentuk workshop yang interaktif, peserta dilibatkan dalam diskusi dan praktik penyusunan instrumen asesmen. Pengambilan data dalam kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui angket yang diberikan kepada para peserta untuk respon mereka setelah mengikuti workshop. Data dari angket kemudian diolah secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan hasil pelaksanaan workshop ini. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 100% peserta workshop mengalami peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam merancang asesmen literasi membaca berbasis HOTS. Hal tersebut diharapkan dapat terciptanya guru-guru yang lebih terampil dalam merancang asesmen literasi membaca yang menekankan pada kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi, yang pada akhirnya diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dan hasil belajar siswa dalam aspek literasi, khususnya membaca

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the effectiveness of the application of the problem-based learning (PBL) model assisted by visual media in improving the ability (writing) of discussion texts and students' self-confidence; 2) correlation between self-confidence and ability to write discussion text; 3) describe student performance during learning to write discussion texts using problem-based learning methods assisted by visual media. The type of research is quasi-experimental with the student population of MTsN 2 West Bandung; 4) students' difficulties in writing exposition texts. The research sample was class IX E as the control class, and class IX F as the experimental class. There are 30 students in each class. The results showed: 1) the ability to write discussion texts and the confidence of MTs students who studied using the PBL model with the aid of visual media were better than students who learned using conventional methods; 2) there is a correlation between self-confidence and the ability to write discussion texts; 3) During the implementation of this PBL model, the activities of teachers and students were categorized as very good. The results of the final knowledge test show that the average acquisition of the experimental class is in the medium category, while the control class shows the poor category. The average final skill score shows that the experimental class gets a better score than the control class. The difficulties experienced by the two classes during the practice of writing discussion texts generally lie in the activity of assembling sentences into a complete text according to the structure and rules and concluding controversial arguments.
