The background of this research problem was lack of ability to write a persuasive essay in class VIII.D junior high school Number 2 Lengayang Pesisir Selatan District. Low interest of students in writing essays of persuasion due to the method used is the lecture method resulting in saturated and bored students on the material being taught, so that the necessary techniques that are able to improve essay writing skills of persuasion. This study aimed to describe the comparison of the ability to write persuasive essays before and after the use of media images in teaching writing persuasive essay in class VIII.D junior high school Number 2 Lengayang Pesisir Selatan District.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â This research is quantitative research. The technique used in this study are pre with the research Â design of pre - test and post -test. The population in this study is the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Lengayang Pesisir selatan Â district listed in 2012/2013 which consists of 7 classes. collect the sample is purposive sampling and the sample is grade VIII.D.the instrument use of the test about performance of writing a persuasive essay. techniques Â to collect the data is done in two stages, before and after using the media image.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Based on the results of a study of the ability to write persuasive essays before and after the use of media images can conclude the following points. First , the ability to write persuasive essays before using media images eighth grade students of junior high school number 2 Lengayang Pesisir Selatan District are at nearly qualified enough ( HC ) with an average value of 52.86. Second, the ability to write persuasive essays after using media images eighth grade junior high student 2 Lengayang Pesisir selatan District are in good qualification ( B ) with an average value of 75.93. Third, there are significant differences from before and after the use of media to use images in teaching media writing persuasive essays of t-test results at the level of 0.05 t = 12.8 > t table = 1.70 thus H1 is accepted. Student learning outcomes in persuasion fabricated using media images more effectively.

The research was motivated by five bases. First, students are not able to develop an ideas or looking for new ideas at writing plays. Second, in the writing, students could not use Bahasa Indonesia properly and correctly. Third, students also did not have good understanding of playwriting materials as they played in the class. Fourth, lecturing students to write a play make most students got saturated. Fifth, evaluation results show that only half of the students able to write a play. This study aimed to determine the ability of the students at writing plays using modeling techniques (modeling). The students are of the class VIII.1 of SMPN 4 Lengayang, South Coast District of West Sumatera.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The type of this research is quantitative. The technigue used this study are pre with the research design of pre-test and post-test. The population is 27 students of the class VIII.1 of SMPN 4 Lengayang using a random technique class or purposive sampling. Data collected through performance tests. Data were analyzed with particular steps. First, read and check out the plays written by the students. Second, scoring. Third, convert the scores to values.Â Fourth, group the values in scale of 10. Fifth, group the values into a frequency distribution table. Sixth, determine the arithmetic mean of the studentsÂ skill at writing plays.Results of data analysis showed that the ability to write a play before using the modeling technique is average (C) 58.52 and the ability to write a play after using modeling techniques are classified as good (B) 72.7 so there are clear difference between before and after this research . Based on the t test known that t value is 4.52 while the t table is 1.71, proved that t > t table. The t-test research show that the ability to write a play with modeling techniques of the students of the class VIII.1 SMPN 4 Lengayang is better than the ability to write a play without using modeling techniques.

ABSTRACTÂ This research was conducted to describe sentence structure and diction (word selection) exposition text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive method. The data of this study are qualitative data in the form of text exposition of students. Data are analyzed by steps, namely (1) the researcher identifies the sentence structure contained in the students' exposition text, (2) the researcher identifies the diction contained in the student's exposition text, (3) the results of the analysis by the triangulation informant, (4) make conclusions. Based on the results of the study, two things are summarized as follows. First, in writing about the exposition text of the eighth grade students of Padang 12 Middle School using six basic sentence patterns. The sixth basic pattern of the exposition text sentence structure is SP, SPO, SPPel, SPK, SPOK, and SPOPel. This is evident from the 40 exposition texts that have been analyzed, the basic pattern of the sentence most used by students is SPOPel, while the basic pattern of the least used sentence is SP. Second, when viewed from the use of diction with the accuracy of the use of diction 90% and the use of 10% diction which is inaccurate in the exposition text by class VIII students of Padang Middle School 12.Â Kata Kunci: Stuktur Kalimat, Diksi, dan Teks EksposisiÂ Â

AbstractÂ The purpose of this study was to describe: (1) the skill of listening to the text of the observation report, (2) the skill of writing observational report text, and (3) analyzing the contribution of observing the text of the observation report to the observation writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Kapas Pesisir Selatan Regency. The type of research used is quantitative and descriptive-analytical methods. The data collection technique was carried out through listening skills tests and test of observations texts of 45 people samples taken by proportional-random sampling. The results of the study showed: (1) writing skills of observational report text were in good qualification by achieving an average score of 81.84 in the range of values of 0 to 100, (2) the listening skill of observational report text were in a very good qualification achieving an average value of 90.00 in the range 0 to Â 100, and (3) the contribution of the skill of listening to the of observational report textÂ to writing observational report text was Â equal to 31.03% among class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Kapas, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan.Â Kata Kunci: Menyimak, Menulis, Kontribusi, Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi

This research is purposedly done to describe activities of short stories learning implementation in Curriculum of 2013 in the stage of (1) building knowledge of the field, (2) modelling, (3) joint construction of the text, (4) independent construction of the text in SMP Negeri 1 Kecamatan Payakumbuh. The type of this research is qualitative research which use descriptive method. Observation and interview methods are used in the data collecting proccess. The output of the research shows that the teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Kecamatan Payakumbuh building knowledge of the field by using three kind of activities. They are introduction activity, main activity, and closing activity. Modelling stage is done by giving the students short stories that are cut from newspapers. Joint construction of the text is done in a group by using continue-the-storie technic. The independent construction of the text is done by giving the students different theme of stories, and then they are asked to produce, edit, and publicate the stories in the wall magazine.Kata Kunci: pelaksanaan pembelajaran, Kurikulum 2013, teks cerpen

ABSTRACTÂ This article is written to discuss the results of research on the relationship of listening skills with skills rewriting news news seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung. Data of this research is the result of listening skills scores news and scores the results of rewriting news skills tests. The data was obtained through two types of test, which is an objective test for measuring the listening skills of news and performance tests for skills rewriting news. This type of research is quantitative descriptive method. The results of this research are three: (1) news listening skills class VII SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung are in good qualification at 81.08. (2) the skill rewriting overall student news at 81.53 and are on good qualification, and (3) based on the t-test, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted at 95% significance level and degrees of freedom (df) = n-1 because thitungÂ¬> ttabel (10.75> 1.68).Â Kata kunci : hubungan, minyimak, menulis, berita

This research aims to describe the following two points. First, describe the characteristics of the generic structure of short story text of students of grade XI SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. Second, describe Error of spelling in short story text made by students of grade XI SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data discussed is qualitative data. The data were language devices in the form of written words taken from the object of research. The Sources of data in this study is short story texts of students of class XI class of 2015 SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. The instrument of this research is the researcher herself. Data were analyzed by describing, analyzing, and discussing data based on theory. The results of research are as follows. First, the researcher found 6 characteristics of short story text structure, namely abstract, orientation, complication, evaluation, resolution, and code in the writing of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. Second, there were 3 spelling mistakes found, namely the use of capital letters, the use of prepositions and affixes, and the use of punctuation pronouns, nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs in the writing students grade XI SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded two things. First, in writing the short story texts students of grade XI SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping has used four text structure short stories namely orientation, complication, evaluation, and resolution. It was found that from 21 short story text that have been analyzed, only 5 short story text that uses the abstract and only 5 short story text that also uses the coda. Secondly, it was also found that when viewed from the spelling mistakes in the short story text written by the students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping, the most dominant mistake were the use of capital letters and the use of punctuation.Â Keywords: karakteristik struktur generik, ejaan, teks cerpen

ABSTRACTÂ This article is aim to find out the contribution between listening skills on the story to the re-write skill on the story by the student on SMP N 1 Kinali West Pasaman. The research conducted by quantitative and descriptive method. There were three results of research conducted by the were (1) the listening skill of students can be clasified into good enough that is 72,45 %, (2) the re-write skill of students can be clasified into good enough that is 72,34% and (3) the listening skill give more contribution to the students in by the second grade studentsÂ SMP N 1 Kinali West Pasaman in re-write the story, that is in 92,2%. This article was written to describe the contribution of reading comprehension skills of exposition texts to the skills of writing exposition of students of class X MAN I Kinali Pasaman Barat. This research type is quantitative research by using descriptive method. The research design used is the correlational contribution of two variables. The population of this study is students of class X MAN I Kinali West Pasaman Regency registered in academic year 2016/2017 with the number of 108 students spread in five classes. The sample in this study amounted to 35 people. Samples were taken using a simple random technique with a precision of 15% using the Taro Yamane formula. The instrument of this research is performance test, that is writing of expository text writing and objective test of reading comprehension text of exposition. The results of this study there are three. First, the skill of writing exposition of the students of class X MAN I Kinali West Pasaman Regency is in more than enough qualification. Second, the reading comprehension skills of expository texts of grade X MAN I Kinali of Pasaman Barat Regency are in more than enough qualification. Third, based on the result of t-test, it can be concluded that reading comprehension skills of exposition texts contribute to the expository writing skill of MAN I Kinali students of Pasaman Barat Regency.Â Kata kunci: kontribusi, keterampilan, membaca, menulis,Â teks eksposisi
