Abstract

This study uses sociological approach to literature. Analyzing from sociology view the literature that talks about social issues contained in the literature. The purpose of this study is to describe the social reality in the novel Pintu works Fira Basuki.This research is qualitative research. The method used in this research is descriptive. The data in this study in the form of word, sentences and dialogue related to social reality. Based on the analysis of the study, we found social reality of relationships in the community with social reality in the novel Pintu works Fira Basuki i.e : Java and European public confidence, spiritual beliefs, traditions, and way of life. From this analysis it can be concluded. First, novel Pintu that is full of Indonesian contemporary social problems. Second, novel Pintu Fira Basuki work raised a number of social issues that occur in the middle of the traditional and the modern Indonesian society. Third, there is a social reality in the novel Pintu related to the problems of Java and European public trust , faith of the  communities, traditions, and way of life. Fourth, the novel works Fira Basuki Pintu has the benefit that can be used for teaching elements of literary readers.

Abstract

The research almed to describe educated values in novel entitled Sepatu Dahlan written by Khrisna Pabichara. Kinds of this research was used describtive methods. The results of this research are: firstly, the educated values related with hard work that both father and mother who have hard work spirit to fullfil then children needs, it’s same with Dahlan who hard work spirit up to reach his go’al and his dream one self. Second, educated values related with caring that love and care wich. Dahlan father, mother, and Zain has in this novel is well and become into harmony is family. Third, the educated values related with disciplin that disciplin wich always implemented by the father to conduct his children not to waste the time. Fourth, educated values related with patience wich had by Dahlan, father, mother, to face their poverty condition. Fifth, educated values related with responsible that father taught his children to be a responsible one. The lesson was always implemented by Dahlan in everything he did.

Abstract

The research was motivated by five bases. First, students are not able to develop an ideas or looking for new ideas at writing plays. Second, in the writing, students could not use Bahasa Indonesia properly and correctly. Third, students also did not have good understanding of playwriting materials as they played in the class. Fourth, lecturing students to write a play make most students got saturated. Fifth, evaluation results show that only half of the students able to write a play. This study aimed to determine the ability of the students at writing plays using modeling techniques (modeling). The students are of the class VIII.1 of SMPN 4 Lengayang, South Coast District of West Sumatera.            The type of this research is quantitative. The technigue used this study are pre with the research design of pre-test and post-test. The population is 27 students of the class VIII.1 of SMPN 4 Lengayang using a random technique class or purposive sampling. Data collected through performance tests. Data were analyzed with particular steps. First, read and check out the plays written by the students. Second, scoring. Third, convert the scores to values.  Fourth, group the values in scale of 10. Fifth, group the values into a frequency distribution table. Sixth, determine the arithmetic mean of the students  skill at writing plays.Results of data analysis showed that the ability to write a play before using the modeling technique is average (C) 58.52 and the ability to write a play after using modeling techniques are classified as good (B) 72.7 so there are clear difference between before and after this research . Based on the t test known that t value is 4.52 while the t table is 1.71, proved that t > t table. The t-test research show that the ability to write a play with modeling techniques of the students of the class VIII.1 SMPN 4 Lengayang is better than the ability to write a play without using modeling techniques.

Abstract

This research is motivated by problems in four of them: (1) when explaining the material students are not much to ask, but when given the task of students impressed task as a burden, (2) students as sume that writing is a difficult learning activities. Recognized the difficulty of writing students to developen idea or ideas in written form, (3) lack of mastery of spelling, punctuation and vocabulary of the students so that the choice of word used lessattractive, (4) absence of the use of instructional media in writing paragraphs. This study uses aquantitative approach with descriptive methods.This study image to describethe ability to writepersuasiveparagraphsusingmediaimagestenth grade studentsof SMA Negeri1MirrorBeachSolok.Furthermore, the abilityto writepersuasiveparagraphsclass XSMANegeri 1MirrorBeachSolokbasedcharacteristicspersuasionparagraph(1) the factquitewellwiththe average value of76.67is inthe range76-85%, (2) the languagecontain a callso as toinvitethe readerquitelesswithan averagevalue of42.67is inthe range36-45%, (3) logicalsentencesconsideredmore than adequate withan averagevalue of75.33is inthe range66-75% and(4) compliancewith thecontents ofthemediaarevery wellqualifiedwithan averagevalue of86.67is inthe range86-95%.Based on thedocument analysisandresults, it canbe concludedthat theabilityto writepersuasiveparagraphsusingmediaimagestenth grade studentsof SMA Negeri1MirrorBeachSolokconsideredmore thanenough. Thisis evidencedbythe averagestudents 70orare in the66-75% range.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is as follows. First, describe the learning outcome of students in writing poetry using media track. Second, describe the learning outcome of students in writing poetry without using a media track. Third, comparison of student learning outcomes described in writing poetry with songs and learning to use the media without the media track. Based on the analysis of data and discussion concluded the following. This research is quantitative research with experimental methods. File were obtained through a single type of test, the test performance. Performance tests are used to collect data using the ability to write poetry with songs and media without media track. File is the ability to write poetry using media without media song and compared by using the formula S-gab and continued with the study hypothesis.Based on the analysis file and discussion be conclude as follow. First, the ability to write poetry class VII student at Junior High School 35 Padang using tracks that are in the media more than enough qualifications (74.4) is in the range (66-75). Second, the ability to write poetry without using media song students are qualified enough in (60.9) is in the range (56-65). Third, there are significant differences in learning outcomes in learning to write poetry using media without media song and t-test results on the level of 95% (α = 0.05), tcalculated = 3.57 ttable = 1.670 thus H1 is accepted. Effectiveness means that there is the ability to write poetry using the media track. Student learning outcomes in writing poetry with more effective use of the song.

Abstract

Background of this research is how the ability to write short stories grade 10 Semen Padang senior high school students using modeling techniques. The problem posed by the following research question : how the ability to write short stories grade 10 Semen Padang senior high school students  in terms of characterizations , events and background on stories . This research aims to determine the ability to write short stories grade 10 Semen Padang senior high school students using modeling techniques. This type of research is descriptive quantitative method. I have chosen research sites in Semen Padang senior high school. Data were collected by using the performance tests in writing short stories. Outcomes studied were rated based formula has been set and the results in total.  Analyzed using five levels, namely excellent, good, enough, less, and less so. As for the informants in this study consists of the principal , vice-principal , a part of the curriculum , 3 teachers  of Indonesian, and 34 people of all grade 10 Semen Padang senior high school students, through a modeling technique like RPP, observation and interview . Data were tested using student test performance, the data were analyzed with the modeling technique consists of collecting data and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis showed that the ability to write short stories grade 10 Semen Padang high school students by using modeling techniques in terms of characterizations, events, and background are on average 70% in the range of 66-755. The conclusion that can be drawn in this research is that the ability to write short stories grade 10 Semen Padang high school students by using the modeling techniques are more than enough qualifications. From the conclusions obtained, it is suggested that the teacher Indonesian and Indonesian Literature in Semen Padang senior high school to further enhance the students ability to write a short story with emphasis on providing training.

Abstract

The problem of this research was the students’ ability in rewriting the tales by using audio visual media in class VII of SMP Negeri 4 SuteraKabupatenPesisir Selatan. This research was aimed at describing the students’ ability in rewriting the tales by using audio visual media in class VII of SMP Negeri 4 SuteraKabupatenPesisir Selatan. This was a quantitative research which used descriptive method. Based on the results of the research five conclusions were drawn. First, the students’ ability in rewriting the tales by using audio visual media for the first indicator (events/plots) was excellent (96,96) in which their average score was in the range of 96-100%. Second, the students’ ability in rewriting the tales by using audio visual media for the second indicator (characterization) was more than adequate (68,68) in which their average score was in the range of 66-75%.Third, the students’ ability in rewriting the tales by using audio visual media for the third indicator (settings) was more than adequate (86,85) in which their average score was in the range of 86-95%. Fourth, the students’ ability in rewriting the tales by using audio visual media for the first indicator (moral values) was more than adequate (71,71) in which their average score was in the range of 66-75%. Fifth, in the general, the average score of the the students’ ability in rewriting the tales by using audio visual media in class VII of SMP Negeri 4 SuteraKabupatenPesisir Selatan was good (81,56) in which their average score was in the range of  76-85%.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative study, by using descriptive methods. The population is for grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Kapas Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This study is a test instrument performance. The results of this study indicate that the ability to write news for  grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Kapas kabupaten Pesisir Selatan by using a text interview is quite good (G) with an average of 80,95%mastery. The ability to write news for grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 2 Batang Kapas kabupaten Pesisir selatan by using a text interview seen from (1) headline indicators pertained More than enough with mastery 72,22%, (2) Indicators of what pertained More than enoughwith71,11%student mastery average,(3) indicators of whom are classified as good (G)with an average of 80,00%students mastery,(4) indicator when classified as good (G) with an student mastery average of 81,11%, (5) indicators where / which is quite very good (VG) with an average of 88,88% student mastery, (6) indicatorwhy quite good (G) with an average of 85,55% student mastery, and (7) indicators of  how quite very good (VG) with an average of 87,77% student mastery.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hal-hal sebagai berikut (1) kurangnya rasa pecaya diri siswa dalam bermain drama (2) kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap pembelajaran memerankan drama ditinjau dari penggunaan lafal, intonasi, gestur dan ekspresi (3) siswa kesulitan dalam menghafal naskah drama. (4) kurangnya buku-buku penunjang tentang pembelajaran drama. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini kelas XI SMA N 1 Siberut Utara yang terdaftar pada tahun 2013/2014. Dari hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan in dikator,maka dapat diambil kesimpulan nilai rata-rata siswa pada indikator 1 atau kemampuan dalam indikator aspek lafal diperoleh mean (M) 71.67 berada pada lebih dari cukup (LDC). Pada indikator 2 atau kemampuan siswa dalam indikator aspek intonasi diperoleh mean(M) 63.33% berada pada cukup (C). Pada indikator 3 atau kemampuan siswa dalam aspek indikator gestur diperoleh mean (M) 60 berada pada cukup (C). Pada indikator 4 atau kemampuan siswa dalam aspek indikator ekspresi diperoleh mean (M) 64.16 berada pada cukup (C).

Abstract

The problem of this research was the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique in class VII of SMP Negeri 27 Padang. This research was designed for describing the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique in class VII of SMP Negeri 27 Padang. This was a quantitative research which used descriptive method. Based on the results of the research some conclusions were drawn. First, the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique for the first indicator was more than adequate (72,3) in which their average score was in the range of 66-75%. Second, the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique for the second indicator was very good(90,4) in which their average score was in the range of 86-95%. Third, the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique for the third indicator was more than adequate (75,2) in which their average score was in the range of 66-75%. Fourth, the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique for the fourth indicator was very good (91,4) in which their average score was in the range of 86-95%. Fifth, in the general, the average score of the students’ ability in writing tales by using listening and writing technique was good (82,3) in which their average score was in the range of  76-85%.
