The main theme for #vBIB25, the virtual conference for digital library and information topics, has been decided. It is “Digital Openness” and will be addressed in all its facets – in keynotes and discussion contributions as well as in an interactive corner programme:
- What opportunities and possibilities can “digital openness” bring?
- How open are your own workplaces to the digital transformation? Where is there resistance, concern and fear?
- What influence does “digital openness” (or its opposite) have on working and communication practices or on participation?
Big global questions should not be neglected at #vBIB25 either: State administrations such as those in the USA or Hungary are massively restricting academic institutions – including libraries – while tech oligarchs are expanding their power and creating non-transparent dependency structures. What does this mean for libraries and how do they deal with it?
Two exciting and intensive days await you on 3 and 4 December 2025 - without participation fees and without registration. The Call for Participation starts on 1 July 2025.
