TIB Philosophy/History

Here you will find literature on the subjects of philosophy and history. The collection focuses on the philosophy and ethics of science, African history, the history of Latin America, the Caribbean and the Iberian world as well as the didactics of history.
The holdings are arranged systematically and the majority can be borrowed. The remaining collections are kept in closed stacks. You can order items for borrowing via the TIB Portal.

The philosophy collection is still being built up: The former library of the Institute of Philosophy is set up in its old systematic shelving in open access and available as reference collection. This collection will be successively integrated into TIB’s systematic shelving, whereafter the holdings can be searched and borrowed as usual. The holdings in the old shelving are not yet listed in the TIB portal. They can be searched in a separate catalogue. If you are interested in borrowing these items, please contact us (in person, by e-mail or by telephone). Requested media is usually available for loan after a maximum processing time of 5 working days; you will be notified by e-mail.
