Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the interaction of speaking activity inside the classroom. The researchers used qualitative research, consisted of 41 students of first year, and were selected to be sample of this research. The observation was taken in three sessions to record the interaction inside the classroom. Then, pattern of classroom interaction analyzed into five characteristics proportion. The lowest interaction characteristic proportion was 22% showed by the teacher control profile. In another result, the lowest interaction characteristic proportion spent 24% of student’s participation. The findings indicated that the interaction of speaking activity inside the classroom was still in teacher’s dominant activity. This study also revealed to realize the importance of the classroom interaction characteristic and to evaluate and develop teachers’ teaching performance. So, the students could make the classroom interaction more effective and the students get experiences in learning new language. The students also will more enjoy taking a part in the teaching-learning of speaking activities to support their environment class the place of teaching-learning process.

Abstract

Propolis is one of natural products produced honey bees and has frequently used as a drug or supplements, antiinflammation, therapy disease, accelerated healing cuts and others. In addition, propolis has many benefits one having the nature as an antibacterial. This study aims to establish the nature of bees antibacterial propolis Trigona incisa against bacteria Klebsiella pneumonia and Staphylococcus aureus. The ektraksi done in a maceration and the antibacterial with the diffusion discs kirby-bauer. The antibacterial activity it uses random design complete (RAL) consisting of 12 treatment and test 3 for every type of bacteria. Variation concentration the treatment is DMSO (control negative), 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100% and kloramfenikol (control positive). Antibacterial test extract propolis bees Trigona incisa against bacteria Klebsiella pneumonia and Staphylococcus aureus, showed potential as antibacterial. The best to extract propolis construction beehive Trigona incisa in pursuing the growth of bacteria Klebsiella pneumonia is 70 % with broad zone obstruent formed the 11,18 mm (category strong) while bacteria Staphylococcus aureus does not hinder (weak) category. On wrapping bee products Trigona incisa, a weakling now under inhibit bacterial growth Klebsiella pneumonia and Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

This research aims to find out what kind of plants that become the source of nectar for Apis dorsata Fabr. in two different villages, namely Bumi Harapan village and Bukit Raya village, in Sepaku Region, East Borneo, and also to identify the pollen morphology of the nectar found in those plants that contained in honey. Based on the identification results of the nectar found from both villages there are significantly different number in variety of plants between these two samples. In Bumi Harapan, 27 families and 64 species of plants were found as the source of nectar, with 7 dominant families

Abstract

This research was conducted in May 2016 in RSUD dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan by using acetolysis method. This aims to determine the pollen morphology and determine the plant species that becomes the pollen source which triggers the ARI also determine the periodic calendar of otolaringology patients in RSUD dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan all the time. The pollen analysis results on a sample of ARI mucus patients in RSUD dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan, was found there are 4 plant species and 3 families. The plants which expected dominating as the pollen source that triggers ARI are from Cyperaceae family which is Scirpus lacustris, Gramineae family which are Oryza sativa and Saccharum spontaneum also Liliaceae family which is Lilium regale. Based on the pollen morphology (shape, size, ornament and aperture), pollens with monad unit dominate the sample. The pollen shape are various from prolate, oblate spheroidal, subprolate and oblate. Ornament type is psilate. Aperture consists of triporate, pantoporate and inaperture. Therefore, it can be stated that the species of pollen source that triggers ARI has pollen morphology which are simpler and small. Based on ARI patient data in RSUD dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan from 2013 to 2015 is known periodically appear at the end of the year to early next year and the ARI interference occurs at the beginning of the dry season (April - May).

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This article is concerned with the politic participation of West Sumatra people in the dynamic of Indonesian democracy. At the beginning of independence, there have seven political parties which were established in West Sumatra namely PERTI, MTKAAM, PKI Lokal Islami, MASYUMI, PNI and PSI. The establishment of the political parties is the reaction of local society to Government’s Advice on 3 November 1945 about the making of party to struggle for independence. Politic participation through political parties is very influential on the political development in West Sumatra. The activist of political parties to reform the leadership of “nagari” (village) government, so that the role of “penghulu” (adat leaders) is liquidated in government affair because the people doubt of their nationalism. Their position replaced by the activist of the party in each “nagari”. The liberty in the term of Liberal Democracy to result in a bad relationship between West Sumatra and central government, develop to become the movement of PRRI (1958-1961). Under the Guided Democracy of Soekarno (1959-1965) and the New Order of Soeharto (1966-1998), the politic participation is very limited in social life, include on the people of West Sumatra. Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan oleh adanya fenomena kebahasaan yang beragam di tengah-tengah masyarakat tutur bahasa Kluet di Kabupaten Aceh Selatan. Keberagaman tersebut tampak dengan adanya lebih dari satu bahasa yang hidup dan berkembang di tengah-tengah masyarakat tutur bahasa Kluet. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana bentuk-bentuk variasi bahasa Kluet di Kabupaten Aceh Selatan pada tingkatan fonologi dan leksikon?. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah penutur bahasa Kluet yang mendiami tiga kecamatan, yaitu Kecamatan Kluet Timur, Kluet Utara dan Kluet Tengah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode cakap dan teknik pancing sebagai teknik dasar serta teknik catat dan teknik rekam sebagai teknik lanjutan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, bentuk-bentuk variasi fonologi yang terdapat dalam bahasa Kluet di Kabupaten Aceh Selatan adalah variasi pada aspek bunyi vokal dan konsonan. Dari 265 kosakata yang ditanyakan kepada informan, terdapat 15 kosakata yang mengalami variasi fonologi. Variasi tersebut terjadi karena adanya perbedaan bunyi dalam merealisasikan sebuah bentuk di antara titik pengamatan. Selain berbeda pada bentuk vokal dan konsonan, variasi juga dikarenakan adanya proses penghilangan segmen bunyi atau suku kata. Variasi bahasa Kluet di Kabupaten Aceh Selatan pada aspek leksikon terdapat pada 16 bentuk kosakata. Kosakata-kosakata tersebut berbeda secara bentuk dan memiliki persamaan dari segi makna atau arti yang diacu.

Abstract

This study is aimed at finding out the effect of concept mapping strategy on the students’ reading comprehension. The study was done through quasi-experimental design which involved pre-test and post-test procedures. There was a try out before administering the tests. Then,the pre-test was administered before giving treatments and the post-test was administered after the treatments. The data collection techniques were tests. The population consisted of 119 students. A cluster sampling technique was used to take them as samples. The samples were divided into two groups; experimental group and control group. Then, the data were analyzed using t-test and paired sample t-test methods to find out whether there was significant difference between the experimental group taught by using concept mapping strategy as the treatment and the control group taught conventionally. The results of the research shows that the significant probabilities were higher than 0.05 (>0.05) ) in both paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. It meant that there was significant difference on the students’ reading comprehension in the pre-test and in the post-test of the classes. There was also a significant difference on their reading comprehension before and after treatments in the experimental class. The value of eta square was 0.68 for their reading comprehension. In sum up, the the application of concept mapping gives positive effect toward the students’ reading comprehension.    Keywords: concept mapping, reading comprehension

Abstract

Tidak banyak para teknisi menggunakan transmisi putaran pada mesin dari satu poros ke poros yang lain memperhitungkan adanya slip antara poros dengan transmisi, sehingga putaran ouput poros yang diharapkan tidak tercapai. Seperti yang ditunjukkan pada transmisi pulley dan v-belt, pada pulley dan v-belt bahwa putaran output yang disampaikan pada pulley akan terjadi penurunan nilai putaran beberapa persen karena timbul slip antara belt dengan pulley. Penurunan nilai putaran tersebut akan bertambah dengan bertambahnya massa putaran yang dibawa. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan motor Hp dan putara 1410 rpm, pulley dan v-belt dengan koefisien gesk sebesar = 0,3. Secara analisa teoritis dengan memilih faktor kritis 1,056 maka nilai putaran tersebut akan berubah sebesar , dengan rasio putaran pulley sebesar i = 2,953216. Ketika dilakukan pengujian dengan beban massa 1,707 kg maka putaran poros motor diperoleh sebesar 1489 rpm, dengan menggunakan rasio putaran maka putaran pulley output sebesar 504,2 rpm, tetapi pada pengukuran putaran pulley sebesar 497,35 rpm, sehingga menimbulkan selisih sebesar 6,9 rpm atau mengalami slip sebesar 1,39 %, dan nilai ini akan terus bertambah dengan bertambahnya beban massa putar yang dibawa. Berdasar analisa empiris besarnya slip dengan menggunakan program excel, maka didapatlah persamaan hubungan persentase slip dengan perubahan massa yang dipakai seperti; .

Abstract

Vocabulary as one of English component and it’s very important to learn. Before the students master the four skills they have to know some vocabularies to support them in learning English. English vocabulary as one of the language skill elements has an important role for young learners in learning foreign languages. In presenting English, especially vocabulary, the teacher should be creative in choosing materials and able to stimulate the student's interest. The teacher needs to manipulate some strategies to support the teaching and learning process. Teaching English for young learner is different from teaching adults in a way that they are often more enthusiastic, active and easily adaptive than adults. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. This research is a descriptive qualitative research that focuses on vocabulary building strategy in teaching vocabulary to young learners. It describes the technique and method used by the teacher in teaching English vocabulary to young learner.
