Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksakan di SDN No. 3 Toaya dengan Jumlah siswa 10 Orang yang terdiri dari 5 orang laki-laki dan 5 orang perempuan yang terdaftar pada tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan Alat Pernapasan pada Manusia dan Hewan. Melalui Pendekatan Keterampilan Proses Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian model alur Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri atas dua siklus yang memiliki tahapan yaitu : Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan, Observasi, dan Refleksi. Hasil penelitian siklus I menunjukkan bahwa persentase Ketuntasan Belajar Klasikal mencapai 70%, kemudian Daya Serap Individu mencapai 13,60%. Pada penelitian siklus II menunjukkan bahwa persentase Ketuntasan Belajar Klasikal mencapai 100%, Daya Serap Individu mencapai 91%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pendekatan Keterampilan Proses dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Sains siswa kelas V SDN No. 3 Toaya. Kata Kunci: Pendekatan Keterampilan Proses dan Peningkatan Hasil Belajar

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of students’ motivation in learning, as well as the students’learning outcomes by using Vivocom Fold Book media with communicative method, picture and picture. The writer uses experimental method, with the design of one group experiment by comparing before and after mark in narrative learning; conducted in class 9-11 at SMPN 2 Sidoarjo. The result is (1) The use of Vivocom Fold Book media can increase students’ motivation to learn English from less motivated, become very motivated in learning, that is from index 2.16 to 4.53 in very motivated category, (2) The use of Vivocom Fold Book can improve students’ learning outcomes, from 71% classical completeness to 91% of total students 35. Vivocom Fold Book Media is very complete. It can motivate andfacilitate students to understand English narrative texts. Media Vivocom Fold Book is also designed specifically to overcome the limitations of vocabulary and understanding the structure of the text, promoting the moral value contained in Indonesian folklores in international language.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Angka Kematian Bayi (AKB) di Indonesia masih sangat tinggi. Menurut data Survey Demografi dan Kesehatan Indonesia (SDKI), di Kalimantan Barat jika dilihat dari kurun waktu 1994 sampai dengan tahun 2007 meskipun terlihat adanya penurunan angka kematian bayi di Kalbar, namun masih di atas rata-rata nasional yaitu 34 per 1.000 KH dimana target Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) ke-4 tahun 2015 yaitu 19 per 1.000 KH. Salah satu faktor yang berkontribusi besar terhadap tingginya AKB dan merupakan penyebab tidaklangsung kematian neonatal kedua terbanyak dengan persentase 32,4% adalah persalinan prematur. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian persalinan prematur di RSUD Dr. Soedarso Pontianak. Metode Penelitian: Desain penelitian menggunakan rancangan studi kasus kontrol dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling didapatkan 150 ibu bersalin di RSUD Dr.Soedarso Pontianak yang terdiri 50 subjek kelompok kasus dan 100 subjek kelompok kontrol. Uji statistik menggunakan metode Chi Square tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil Penelitian: Menunjukkan ada hubungan antara umur ibu (p=0,001; OR=5,462), riwayat prematur(p=0,001; OR=7,211), hipertensi (p=0,002; OR=3,116), perdarahan antepartum (p=0,007; OR= 7,977), dan ketuban pecah dini(p=0,001; OR=5,516) dengan kejadian persalinan prematur, dan tidak ada hubungan antara paritas (p=0,147) dengan kejadian persalinan prematur. Saran: Untuk mencegah terjadinya kasus kejadian persalinan prematur diperlukan upaya promotif dan preventif. Kepada ibu hamil agar memeriksakan kehamilannya secara teratur, mengurangi aktifitas pekerjaan yang berat, mengkonsumsi makanan yang bergizi, mengikuti kelas hamil, mengikuti program KB.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the Effect of Smartphone on Students’ Speaking Skill. The research design was used pre-experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Bissappu. The researcher was used total sampling technique. The researcher uses this technique because all the members of the selected had similar characteristic and the same relatively baseline knowledge based on their test examination average scores. The total number of samples was 30 students from class VII. The Speaking tests were administered in the pretest and posttest. The instrument was intended to measure the students’ enrichment of speaking. The test Speaking aspects in this research are: fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation, accuracy and comprehensibility. Based on the research findings and discussion in the previous chapter, the researcher concludes that the use of Smartphone enriches the students’ speaking skill; it is proved by the mean score of the students’ posttest. The t-test of the students’ speaking achievement in posttest was smaller than ? (0.000 < 0.05).  It meant that the H1 of the hypothesis was accepted

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil dan motivasi belajar siswa sehingga prestasi yang hendak dicapai kurang memuaskan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan Model Problem Basec Learning dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa di kelas IV UPT SD Inpres 6/75 Manurunge. Adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IV UPT SD Inpres 6/75 Manurunge yang berjumlah 22 siswa. Penulis menerapkan model Problem Basec Learning di kelas IV-B dengan instrumen penelitian menggunakan postest untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa sedangkan hasil motivasi belajar diperoleh dari angket. Adapun Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Teknik analisis dekskiptif kuantitatif. Keberhasilan motivasi belajar pada siklus I yaitu menunjukkan nilai 76,92% dan pada siklus II yaitu 85,54%. Pada hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I 85,36 dengan hasil persentase 81,82%. Pada siklus ke II memperoleh nilai rata-rata 91,82 dengan hasil persentase 90,91%. Adapun hasil penelitian yaitu dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa di kelas IV UPT SD Inpres 6/75 Manurunge.

Abstract

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted a global shift towards remote learning in education systems worldwide. This study aims to assess the impact of remote learning on student engagement by examining global educational responses to the crisis. Through a qualitative approach and extensive literature review using library research methods, this research explores the lessons learned from various countries' experiences with remote learning during the pandemic. The analysis focuses on key factors influencing student engagement, including access to technology, teacher-student interaction, curriculum adaptation, and socio-economic disparities. Findings reveal both challenges and opportunities associated with remote learning. While technological limitations and digital divide pose significant barriers to student engagement, innovative teaching strategies, collaborative efforts, and flexible curriculum adjustments have emerged as effective solutions. Furthermore, the study identifies the importance of teacher support, parental involvement, and student motivation in enhancing engagement in remote learning environments. The insights gained from this research provide valuable lessons for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders in designing effective strategies to improve student engagement in remote learning settings, both during crises and beyond.

Abstract

In the hybrid learning era, teachers increasingly need flexible and digital materials. Learning process is now conditioned as a need of students to develop their life skills. This process is carried out by teachers, students, parents, related parties, such as media, and the community. However,  not all the materials in the form of videos of learning are available and can be found easily on the internet. The purpose of this research is developing English supplementary materials for grade nine through YouTube platform based on the content, audio, and visual performance. Research & Development (R&D) Model was applied in this research. The findings of the research are the four revisions of the supplementary materials in the ninth grade through YouTube platform: (1)product: there is revision of the content especially for understandable aspect, that is a translation subtitle through YouTube for the content of supplementary materials, (2) lesson plan: some teachers suggest to make  the lesson plan available to accompany and guide them to teach, the writer make and give the lesson plan which used for accompanying the products which can be used, adapted, based on the students characteristics in each school, (3) modul as a systematic written book with simple explanation to make students learn independently is also required, (4) operational direction: the revision of operational direction is conducted by revising the description of supplementary materials which covers direction of learning, exercise and questions related to the supplementary materials.

Abstract

Argumentation is crucial in education in activating students’ critical thinking and increasing their ability in thinking reflectively. TAP model as an integrated assessment framework could be used to measure their critical thinking. Thus, the aims of the study are (1) to identify the elements of the argument structures in the Japanese and Korean EFL learners’ argumentative essays, based on the (adapted) Toulmin model, (2) to evaluate the quality of the Japanese and Korean EFL learners’ argumentative writing based on the uses of the Toulmin Argument Pattern (TAP), and (3) to determine whether female and male learners have the same or different quality of argument pattern. A qualitative descriptive research design and a library research approach were carried out on this study to answer the research questions. Library research was used to collect sources and evaluate the sources taken from the ICNALE and sophisticated contrastive interlanguage analysis of Asian learners of English. The data sources were the Japanese and Korean EFL learners’ argumentative writing. Based on the quality of arguments, all students covered 1–4 levels. The highest was level 2, and the lowest was level 4. It tends to be the majority of students who are still in level 2. It needs practice to write argumentatively in order to shape the writing ability to organize a good surface structure and acceptable arguments.

Abstract

 AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konjungsi subordinatif dalam novel Sehidup Sesurga Denganmu karya Asma Nadia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis isi untuk mendeskripsikan konjungsi subordinatif yang terdapat dalam novel Sehidup Sesurga Denganmu karya Asma Nadia. Setelah penulis melakukan analisis, diperoleh data sebanyak 440 Konjungsi subordinatif waktu sebanyak 75 data (17%), subordinatif syarat 39 data (9%), subordinatif pengandaian 2 data (1%), subordinatif tujuan 28 data (6%), subordinatif konsesif 21 data (5%), subordinatif pembandingan 39 data (9%), subordinatif sebab sebanyak 34 data (8%), subordinatif hasil 6 data (1%), subordinatif alat 41 data 9%, subordinatif cara sebanyak 14 data (3%), subordinatif komplementasi 18 data (4%), subordinatif atribut 114 data (26%) dan subordinatif perbandingan 9 data (2%).Kata Kunci: konjungsi, konjungsi subordinatf, novel sehidup sesurga denganmu.

Abstract

Students learn English with different educational backgrounds at university level. Through this course, students can get the opportunity to develop their English competence for their learning success and future professional needs. To maximise the attainments of the goals, ESP teachers need to design ESP courses relevant to the students’ needs and conditions. This study surveyed 180 non-English major students to investigate their needs in learning English, learning attitude, and language learning strategies. The results reveal students still lacking in all English skills and language use. Therefore, ESP teachers should provide learning materials and inputs that can develop students’ English competence. ESP teachers need to struggle to make non-English major students hold a positive attitude toward English language learning. This finding showed that even though the students had confidence and motivation in learning English, they felt anxious and insecure during the teaching and learning process. Since this study involved non-English major students from different educational backgrounds, it was found that students’ language learning strategies were various. The results did not show certain strategies used by the students in learning English in higher education. ESP teachers should provide a variety of teaching techniques that can help students maximise their English language learning.
