Abstract

Five regions in Papua province, namely Jayawijaya, Tolikara, Lanny Jaya, Nduga, and Dogiyai, have a high prevalence of stunting above the national figure. As part of the national strategy, empowering health students to reduce the prevalence of stunting through anthropometric measurements is very important. The purpose of this study was to identify the practical steps of students in anthropometric activities as part of handling stunting cases in Papua. This research used a case study method with a descriptive design. The sample was stunting cases in various regions in Papua province. The method used in case identification was the Blueprint Test of case management assessment with a standard nursing process of Orlando. The data was obtained from scientific journals at Google Scholar that has a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) or published in reputable journals (national or international) which were analyzed using the PICOT model. The results of the PICOT analysis showed three main problems that need to be prioritized in the involvement of practical students related to anthropometric measurements. Those problems include debriefing through training, cross-sectoral collaboration driven by the campus, and program realization. This study recommended an anthropometric measurement program for stunting cases in the form of curriculum evaluation in local content, cross-sectoral collaboration, and program implementation by considering local wisdom.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic, directly or indirectly, according to many studies has proven to have caused a shift in the character of nursing students. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of nursing students’ character shifts that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic and how to manage them. The implication of this study is to contribute the management of handling a shift in the character of nursing students during the pandemic. This study used a document review and was supported with the PRISMA Analysis. The document was screened from 1,583,100 records in the Google search engine. The core documents were filtered through Google Scholar, PubMed, Semantic Scholar, and Other Sources. The keywords used for the search include management, nursing education, character shift, nursing students, and the Covid-19 pandemic. The PRISMA Analysis design provides indicators to be more focused in the search that includes respondents’ character shift, research methods (quantitative), research quality, surveys, document reviews, publication year (2020-2021), results (the focus of shifting character of nursing students during the Covid-19 pandemic), and the language (English). This study review was supported by the PICOT (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, and Time) model as the instrument to help the screening for quality records. Results showed the total documents out of 1.583.100 records, 108 records were screened, and 21 records were eligible (n=21) that met the requirements for review, i.e. from Google Scholar (n=8), PubMed (n=5), Semantic Scholar (n=4), and Other Sources (n=4). The study conclusion suggested the need for a character shift program for nursing students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The problems that have been found in the 21 review documents of character shifts in nursing students are mental/psychological shifts, shifts in learning/learning methods, shifts in attitudes, and shifts in lifestyle. The results of this study showed there were 15 journals that met the criteria for PRISMA analysis and 100% of the PICOT model in which they also indicated that there were shifting of nursing students’ characters during the covid-19 pandemic

But also on changes in the level of motivation that affect their learning achievement. In the long term, the phenomena will harm the students, lecturers, campus management, and various other parties. The objective is to examine students' self-concept and learning motivation during the Covid-19 pandemic and test whether it has a correlation with academic achievement and provide a possible solution. The method was quantitative with a descriptive-analytic design and cross-sectional approach. The main data collected was from the evaluation of 5 subjects before and during the Covid-19 pandemic and the analysis of the questionnaire. The sampling technique was non-probability sampling with a sample of nursing students in semester V, 57 respondents. Both data were collected from December 2020 to February 2021 in Wamena, Papua. The data collection tool used a standard questionnaire by Fitts designed in a Likert scale, focusing on self-concept and motivation. Data were analyzed using the application software SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) Version 25. The results were 30 respondents (52.6%) with student self-concept in the positive category and 26 respondents (45.6%) students who had achievement motivation to study in the good category with p-value = 0.000 (<0, 05) so that Ho is rejected, which means that there is a significant influence between self-concept on learning achievement motivation. Keywords: Self-Concept, Nursing Students, Learning Motivation

The resultd showed that 85.5% of students who experienced moderate pain and 77.9% of students who experienced severe pain stated that they did not concentrate when doing learning activities. The results of the chi square test showed p value = 0.001, which means that there is a relationship between the incidence of dysmenorrhea and student learning activities. Dysmenorrhea can affect learning activities, this is supported by the duration of bleeding, pain during dysmenorrhea, and the intensity of dysmenorrhea.

Abstract

Many research results reveal that the average recovery time of patients exposed to the Covid-19 pandemic is between 2 weeks to one month. There are many factors that affect a speedy recovery. However, there is no agreement as to whether race or ethnicity affects the accelerated healing process. To find out the comparison ofaverage recovery time between Papuans and non-Papuans exposed to Covid-19. The implications of this study may provide additional evidence of differences in recovery time between ethnicities from a nursing perspective. Used qualitative with descriptive design. The steps include identifying phenomena that exist in the community, seeking scientific references, determining respondents (14 people, 6 nurses and 8 clients each, Papuan and non-Papuan), coding, conducting semi-structured in-depth interviews, and analyzing problems comprehensively. descriptive. This research can be carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic.19in Papua Province.
