Abstract

A part from educational purposes, the learning of English worldwide has been found to have social and economic implication to its learners. It is seen as “social and economical mobilizer”. In many countries, English learners are seen as more educated and thus gain some degree of higher respectability in their society. English is desired, even required by companies in recruiting their employees. Those who know English are easier in getting desirable jobs compared to non-English knower. Learning English becomes a tool to socially move to upper level. This certainly has significant implication to Teaching English as Second or Foreign language. Many countries become well aware of this phenomenon and thus rule out English become a must-taught subject in schools.Keywords: Sociolinguistics, English language learning, social mobility, English language curriculum.Copyright © 2015 by Al-Talim All right reserved

Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul: “Tingkat Partisipasi Masyarakat Pada Olahraga Tradisional (Suatu Penelitian di Kecamatan Montasik Kabupaten Aceh Besar)“. Ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan Tingkat Partisipasi Masyarakat Pada Olahraga Tradisional. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif pendekatan kualitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh masyarakat Aceh Besar yang berpartisipasi pada olahraga tradisional di Kecamatan Montasik. Adapun mengingat jumlah populasi terlalu banyak maka sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil 10%, yaitu 32 orang. Penentuan sampel dengan secara random sampling. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui angket dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan kategori jenjang dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan tingkat partisipasi, dan selanjutnya menghitung persentase. Hasil analisis data sebagai berikut: (1) sebanyak 2 responden berada pada kategori rendah dengan tingkat persentase 6,25% , (2) sebanyak 10 responden berada pada kategori sedang dengan tingkat persentase 31,25% dan (3) sebanyak 20 responden berada pada kategori tinggi dengan tingkat persentase 62,5%. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat partisipasi masyarakat Montasik pada olahraga tradisional berada pada kategori tinggi

Abstract

ABSTRAK Saung Angklung Udjo merupakan objek wisata dan pembelajaran budaya Sunda. Konsep perpaduan alam dan budaya menyatu dalam desainnya. Secara tidak langsung telah selaras dengan konsep sustainable  yang dapat dilihat dari desain tatanan massa dan bentuk bangunan. Oleh karena itu, perancangan tatanan massa dan bangunan diharapkan mampu mengoptimalkan penggunaan energi bagi kebutuhan bangunan dan penggunanya. Hal ini sangat penting dalam pencapaian tujuan sosial, ekonomi dan lingkungan dalam rangka sustainable site. Tatanan massa dan bangunan Saung Angklung Udjo akan dianalisis dengan metoda deskriptif analisis yang dilakukan dengan data fisik di lapangan. Hasil kajian ini diharapkan akan menjadi rujukan untuk penerapan konsep sustainable site dalam merancang tatanan massa dan bangunan pada pembangunan selanjutnya serta mendukung kelestarian alam di masa depan. Kata kunci : tatanan massa, bangunan, energi, sustainable site ABSTRACT Saung Angklung Udjo an attractionand learning Sundanese culture. The concept mix of nature and culture together in his design. Indirectly aligned with the concept of sustainable design that can be seen from the order of the mass and shape of the building. Therefore, designing and building a mass order is expected to optimize the use of energy for the needs of the building and its users. It is very important in the achievement of social objectives, economic and environmentally in the context of sustainable site. Order the masses and building Saung Angklung Udjo will be analyzed with descriptive methods of data analysis done with the physical on the field. The results of this study are expected to be a reference to the application of the concept of sustainable site in order to design and mass of the building next to the construction and support the conservation of nature in the future. Abstract

High school learning changed from traditional (face-to-face) learning to online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Students' perceptions of learning are one of the supporting factors for successful learning, including online learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of high school students towards online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic and what learning media they like the most. This online survey research will explore high school students' perceptions of online learning that has taken place, for data discussion to answer research problems, a descriptive approach was used.. The research respondents were 592 students from 2 districts in the mountains of Aceh, namely Central Aceh and Bener Meriah. The results showed that high school students gave a poor perception of online learning; the learning media that students liked was the WhatsApp application. Students' loneliness causes this perception. Due to a lack of "social presence", social media as a learning medium is one solution to these problems, students choose social media to build a collaborative learning environment. Social media should be used as a learning medium, to reduce boredom due to lack of learning interaction. From the results of the research found, it appears that there is a need for improvements to the ongoing online learning system

Abstract

Social media is a technological advancement in information and communication used by people of all ages and around the globe. Even though social media platforms were not initially designed for education, they have captured the attention of some educators, particularly those who teach and study the English language. This study aimed to determine what kinds of social media English students at the State Institute of Islamic Studies Takengon utilize and how social media assists students in learning English. In this study, a descriptive-qualitative methodology was employed. The researcher used open-ended response surveys, interviews, and written records to collect data. This research utilized data analysis techniques involving data reduction, presentation, conclusion, and verification. To ensure the validity of the information, the writer employed both reliability and source triangulation mechanisms. According to the findings of this study, students improved their English skills by utilizing eight different social media platforms, including Blogger, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. In comparison, most students prefer media-sharing platforms (MMS) to social networking sites (SNS) to enhance their English skills. Students mainly use social media features such as viewing videos, listening to podcasts, and conversing with native English speakers. In addition, they also utilize personal chat, group chat, comment sections, photos, descriptions, stories, and biographies to enhance their English skills through peer interaction. The study's conclusions may have an impact on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and educational policies that support language acquisition and cross-cultural communication in digital environments, both within and outside of Gayonese universities.

Abstract

There has been a growing concern about the decreasing number of the Gayonese young generation who are literate in their mother language. Unfortunately, little scientific effort has been made to determine its leading causes. While the previous studies limitedly focused on the structure and form of the Gayonese language, this research seeks to fill the gap by attempting to uncover the contributing factors leading to the Gayonese young adults' reluctance to employ the Gayonese language in their regular interaction and their views regarding the language. Besides, the study attempts to determine if English as a global language has to do with endangering the Gayo language. The research employed a case study methodology and semi-structured interviews to collect data. The data is mined from thirty university students, aged 18-21 years old, who have Gayonese language background. The result of the research showed that unfavorable views against the Gayonese language are on the rise among the young Gayonese generation. Furthermore, young Gayonese are now used to speaking the official Indonesian language instead of their native tongue for the following reasons; the Indonesian language indicates upper-class status and is more prestigious; the Indonesian language is more sensible and efficient for talking with the opposite sex; and the Indonesian language is more straightforward and more accessible to use when greeting new friends. Meanwhile, it is also revealed that the powerful status of English as a global language has nothing to do with the cause of the young Gayonese generation abandoning their mother tongue. Given this finding, the researcher envisages the Gayonese language as in stage six of the endangered language according to the GIDS scale. Stage six suggests that the language needs preservative treatments to avoid a total loss. The researcher also forwards that the Gayonese families introduce the mother language to their children at an early age and better realize that English is not the cause of abandoning the Gayonese language by their children. Also, the local government should carry out language revitalizing efforts by regulating the provision of the Gayonese language in primary schools.

Abstract

Kepatuhan perawat dalam penerapan standar keperawatan dan standar operasional prosedur sebagai salah satu ukuran keberhasilan pelayanan keperawatan sehingga tidak terjadi infeksi pada luka yang dapat mengakibatkan lama perawatan dan komplikasi. Tujuan penelitian adalah Mengetahui hubungan kepatuhan perawat dalam pelaksanaan standar operasional prosedur perawatan luka operasi dengan kejadian infeksi luka operasi sectio caesaria di ruang X Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Ciawi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian korelasional, dengan Metode penelitian kuantitaif. Populasi dalam penelitian yaitu 30 orang, dengan total sampling. Analisa data menggunakan analisa univariat dan bivariate. Analisa univariat didapatkan karakteristik responden sebagian besar berusia 21-30 tahun, berjenis kelamin perempuan, Pendidikan terakhirnya yaitu D3 Keperawatan, status Kepegawaian BLUD (Badan Layanan Umum Daerah). Analisa Bivariat menggunakan uji statistik chi-square. Hasil penelitian di dapatkan bahwa tingkat kepatuhan responden sebagian besar patuh (72%) dan tidak terjadi infeksi (67%). Hasil tabulasi silang diperoleh nilai (p=0.000) yang berarti bahwa Ada hubungan kepatuhan perawat dalam pelaksanaan standar operasional prosedur perawatan luka operasi dengan kejadian infeksi luka operasi section caesaria di ruang X Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Ciawi

Abstract

Peningkatan kualitas penelitian dan publikasi ilmiah di jurnal yang terindeks Scopus adalah tantangan yang signifikan dalam dunia akademik saat ini. Untuk mengatasi hal ini dan mendukung perkembangan penelitian akademik yang lebih bermutu, Fakultas Syariah, Dakwah, dan Ushuluddin IAIN Takengon mengadakan sebuah workshop dengan tema "Roadmap ke Jurnal Terindeks Scopus: Panduan Praktis Menulis Artikel." Workshop ini bertujuan untuk memberikan panduan praktis tentang proses penulisan artikel ilmiah yang sesuai dengan standar Scopus. Peserta workshop akan mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang apa itu Scopus, langkah-langkah essensial dalam menulis artikel ilmiah, teknik pembuatan judul yang menarik, dan strategi pencarian referensi yang relevan. Workshop ini berfokus pada peserta yang terdiri dari dosen, mahasiswa, peneliti, dan penulis potensial yang ingin meningkatkan keterampilan mereka dalam menulis artikel ilmiah yang dapat diindeks Scopus. Workshop ini tidak hanya sebagai solusi untuk kendala penulisan artikel ilmiah, tetapi juga sebagai platform interaktif yang memungkinkan peserta untuk berdiskusi, bertukar pengalaman, dan memperkaya wawasan dalam dunia penelitian ilmiah. Dengan upaya bersama untuk meningkatkan kualitas penulisan artikel ilmiah yang memenuhi kriteria Scopus, workshop ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat peran dalam perkembangan pengetahuan yang berkelanjutan. Metode pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui empat langkah, meliputi perencanaan dan persiapan workshop yang matang, pengorganisasian acara dengan promosi yang efektif, pelaksanaan workshop yang interaktif, dan evaluasi serta umpan balik dari peserta. Hasil dari pelaksanaan metode ini adalah suksesnya workshop dengan berbagai materi yang relevan serta dampak positif yang dapat membantu peserta dalam menulis artikel ilmiah yang memenuhi kriteria Scopus. Workshop ini memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan kontribusi penelitian akademik di IAIN Takengon dan berkontribusi pada kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan secara luas.

Abstract

Indikator yang penting dalam mengukur kontribusi penulis ke pengetahuan global adalah publikasi ilmiah pada jurnal bergengsi. Webinar ini mempunyai tujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan praktis bagi para peneliti yang akan menulis dan menerbitkan artikel di Scopus indexed journal. Topik webinar meliputi pemahaman artikel bibliometrik, tahap-tahap dari tulisan dan pemanfaatan beberapa perangkat analisis bibliometrik seperti VOSviewer dan Biblioshiny. Metode webinar mencakup survei kebutuhan calon peserta, tim pengembangan materi dan persiapan presentasi. Platform Zoom digunakan sebagai media penyelenggaraan dengan sesi teori yang menjelaskan dasar-dasar artikel bibliometrik dan sesi praktik yang menunjukkan aplikasi perangkat lunak analisis serta studi kasus nyata. Pengguna juga bisa konsultasi secara individu, mendapatkan umpan balik dan review terhadap draft artikel mereka. Evaluasi webinar dilakukan lewat kuisioner untuk memberikan nilai efektivitas serta kualitas materi yang diberikan. Menurut hasilnya, ini adalah sangat sukses karena telah meningkatkan kesadaran untuk berpartisipasi dalam menulis artikel ilmiah. Laporan akhir merangkum seluruh kegiatan dan memberikan rekomendasi untuk kegiatan serupa di masa depan. Webinar ini memberikan dasar yang kuat bagi peneliti untuk mencapai publikasi di jurnal bereputasi, serta meningkatkan visibility dan kredibilitas penelitian mereka.
