Abstract

This research aims to examine scientific progress and provide a comprehensive literature review regarding IoT-based sociocultural from 2018 to 2023 using the Scopus database. Additionally, this research aims to identify new concepts and areas of limited knowledge that may require additional investigation. Software from the Scopus website was used for bibliometric analysis. Several citations are used to categorize research findings, which also contain information on author, country, document type, and year of publication. The researchers found eighteen papers by limiting their search to the last six years and using only English keywords. 2021 tops the list of years with the most publications, with five documents. Usually, this category of documents is encountered at international paper conferences. According to this analysis, the number of studies related to IoT-based sociocultural issues in the Scopus database is expected to increase and climax between 2018 and 2023. Various themes and keywords that can form the basis for further investigation have emerged with advances in IoT-based sociocultural research. Abstract

The advancement of information and communication technology has brought major changes in the world of education, including the use of learning resources. However, globalization also has the potential to distance students from local cultural values. This study aims to explore the development of learning resources based on Kaili local culture in learning in grade IV of Elementary School using naturalistic qualitative methods. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies with research subjects consisting of teachers, students, principals, and cultural figures at elementary school Sunju. The results of the study indicate that the learning resources used still do not accommodate local culture, while students are more familiar with foreign cultures than Kaili culture. Teachers have difficulty integrating local culture due to limited teaching materials. The principal supports the development of learning resources based on local culture, but training is needed for teachers so that its implementation is more effective. These findings indicate that the development of learning resources based on local culture can enrich students' learning experiences and strengthen their cultural identity, although it still faces challenges in implementation. This study emphasizes the importance of the role of education in preserving local culture through the development of relevant and contextual learning resources.

In recent research, there have been rising debates about exploring work from home as a strategy of boosting the efficiency of employees in public and private organizations. As a result of this, a body of literature created on this issue through examining various issues and embark scholars to debate on this issue. While some studies suggest work from home as an effective strategy, some others discard this on the ground of various challenges that the employees encountered because of this. However, the present research paper uses the phenomenology approach to seek the opinions from both the employees working from home and HR managers those who are associated with this system and seeks answers of these questions. The paper suggests that there is mixed experience among the employees and HR Managers about this system. It argues that though the leadership is observed technically oriented and micromanaging, employees are found satisfied over structured communication of team leaders. Further, there is a need to take up quantitative study to learn and establish the relationship between the involvement of the employees and effective leadership practices.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is find out how audio-visual aid can enhance students listening skills of EFL learners. From the observation, it was found that most students have bad scores in listening skills and low motivation in following listening materials. The researchers, then, employed the classroom action research method to fix the problem directly. This research was conducted in the English department of UIN FAS Bengkulu. The population used by the researchers was students in the third semester who got listening class. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, choosing the criteria or specific considerations so that they do not go through the selection process as done in a random technique. In this case, the researchers chose class 3b because it had the lowest grades and motivation among the other classes. Two cycles were done to handle the problem. The instrument used to gain the data by using a test, observation sheet, and interview. The data comparison from pre-assessment to final assessment shows a positive impact of the strategy on students' scores and motivation in the teaching-learning process of listening.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of the Team Games Tournament model on student involvement and academic achievement in scientific education. A mixed-methods strategy was employed to obtain quantitative data through tests, which indicated that a substantial percentage of pupils attained high scores, reflecting a robust comprehension of the topic. Qualitative observations emphasized active engagement, cooperation, and enthusiasm among students during collaborative activities. The results indicate that the interactive characteristics of the Team Games Tournament cultivate a favorable learning atmosphere, augmenting students' enthusiasm and critical thinking abilities. The existence of pupils in lower score ranges highlights the necessity for tailored interventions to assist struggling learners. The research underscores the significance of tailored education and the establishment of inclusive learning environments to address diverse student requirements. The incorporation of collaborative learning practices in science education enhances academic performance and equips students with vital skills, like cooperation and communication, for future difficulties.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of formative assessment in English teaching to enhance student motivation. The research design of this study is a qualitative descriptive research design. The subjects in this research were 30 class X students at SMA Indonesia Semarang. The instruments used in this research were observation, interviews, and open and closed questionnaires adopted and adapted from  Theodoridis & Kraemer (2020). The collected data was then analyzed using descriptive qualitative and closed questionnaires using SPSS 21. The research showed that before implementing formative assessments such as quizzes, discussions, and Google forms in learning English, students experienced various obstacles, including lack of vocabulary, understanding, self-confidence, etc. However, everything changes when this type of assessment is implemented where students show significant results as seen from students being able to understand the learning, increasing students' vocabulary in speaking English, making learning more interesting and not boring.
