Abstract

In order to promote sustainable development in the remote islands this present research attempted to study the suitability of seawater, that available abundantly surrounding the remote islands with Portland composite cement (PCC) and crushed river stones to produce concrete. This research aims to utilize seawater, and Portland composite cement (PCC) to produce high-performance concrete in order to eliminate the main problems of clean water shortage in the low land areas and the remote islands. Infrastructure development can be sustained through the effective use of natural available local materials on the remote islands. The method used in this research is an experimental method in the laboratory. Two variations of concrete were made using freshwater and seawater, respectively as a mixing material with a water to cement ratio (w/c) of 0.55. The evaluation result on concrete compressive strength and bond strength of seawater concrete were discussed. Experimental results showed the compressive strength of the seawater concrete is lower by 6.26% as compared to the normal concrete at water-cement ratio (w/c) of 0.55. In addition, the bonding strength of steel bar embedded in seawater concrete is lower by 4.34% as compared to the bonding strength of steel bar embedded in normal concrete at water-cement ratio (w/c) of 0.55. Doi: 10.28991/cej-2020-SP(EMCE)-06 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

Abstract. This community service activity aims to enhance book writing skills among teachers. It is essential for teachers to develop their professionalism, one way being through book writing activities. The book writing training at MTs Arifah Gowa is designed to help teachers overcome limitations in producing scientific writings and textbooks, as well as to encourage them to continuously develop their professionalism and competence. The training methods used include lectures, question-and-answer sessions, and discussions, focusing on various aspects of book writing, from idea generation to the publishing process. The results of this training show that teachers feel more confident and motivated to write and understand the importance of literacy in education. This training not only provides a better understanding of book writing techniques but also helps teachers integrate research into their teaching materials, improving the quality of teaching and literacy in schools. The survey results from teachers indicate that this training contributes positively to the development of literacy and writing skills among teachers at MTs Arifah Gowa. Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan sikap sosial dengan prestasi belajar IPS (Studi Pada Siswa Kelas V UPT SD Inpres 12/79 Lonrae Kecamatan Tanete Riattang Timur Kabupaten Bone). Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa Kelas V UPT SD Inpres 12/79 Lonrae dengan jumlah sampel 50 siswa menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi sebagai instrumen penelitian. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Sikap sosial dengan rata-rata sebesar 80,30 dan pada kategori baik dan prestasi belajar siswa dengan rata-rata sebesar 82,60 dan pada kategori sangat baik. Hasil analisis statistik inferensial menunjukkan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara sikap sosial dengan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas V dengan koefisien sebesar 0,695 dan berada pada kategori hubungan kuat. Korelasi antara sikap sosial dengan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas V menujukkan rhitung ≥ rtabel (0,695 ≥ 0,284) dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Dengan demikian H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Kesimpulan penelitian terdapat hubungan yang signifikansi antara sikap sosial dengan prestasi belajar IPS (Studi Korelasi Pada siswa kelas V UPT SD Inpres 12/79 Lonrae Kecamatan Tanete Riattang Timur Kabupaten Bone). Abstract

The general purpose of this activity is to assist the PAUD unit to find out how to make website which is a medium of information dissemination and communication between paud units and related parties. With the PAUD unit website, there are several benefits, including being present in providing positive content for the public to realize a healthy internet, encouraging paud units to present positive and creative paud unit activity information, child guardians and the public can know various things about PAUD units directly, and foster public confidence in paud units. Kec.Pasarwajo there are many PAUD units both public and private. Implementation of assistance in 14 kindergartens of Pasarwajo Subdistrict. The problem does not yet have a PAUD unit website. So it is considered necessary to carry out assistance to paud units, especially in pasarwajo subdistrict.  The activity begins with exposure to free website creation through wordpress and continues with direct practice assistance. The results of the activity showed that paud units in pasarwajo district of buton regency with participants of PAUD unit operators totaling 14 PAUD units in pasarwajo districts had been able to create a free website through wordpress. In addition, assistance has an impact on the spirit of operators in pasarwajo sub-district.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kuat tekan beton pasir laut yang layak sebagai agregat halus perkerasan kaku (Rigit Pavement) jalan pantai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan benda uji kuat tekan berbentuk silinder dengan diameter 150 mm dan tinggi 300 mm dengan persentase pasir laut 0%, 10%, 15%, 20% dan 25% pada umur umur 3, 7, 14, 21 dan 28 hari. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian kuat tekan beton, terjadi peningkatan kekuatan pada beton yang memakai pasir laut persentase 10%, 15%, 20% dan 25% pada saat umur 7, 14, 21 dan 28 hari. Kuat tekan terbesar terjadi pada beton dengan persentase 25% pasir laut sebesar 26,29 MPa pada umur perawatan 28 hari, sedangakn kuat tekan terendah terjadi pada umur perawatan 3 hari sebesar 16,00 MPa. Semakin lama umur perawatan beton maka semakin meningkat kuat tekan beton yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

Rendahnya keterampilan membaca harus diatasi agar siswa tidak mengalami kesulitan dalam hal membaca. Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I SD adalah denga menggunakan media pembelajaran big book. Penelitan ini bertujuan ingin mengetahui: (1) proses penggunaan big book dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan. (2) hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan big book dalam kegiatan membaca permulaan di SDN 51 Banda Aceh. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek siswa kelas I SDN 51 Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 28 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai pre tes yang diperoleh siswa adalah 71,79. Setelah diterapkan media big book pada kegiatan membaca permulaan nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi lebih baik yaitu 79,28. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media big book terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I SDN 51 Banda Aceh

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatan hasil belajar dan ketrampilan menulis dengan menggunakan media yang bertuliskan kata dan kalimat. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dan yang menjadi subjek adalah siswa sekolah dasar semester genap tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Tindakan yang dilaksanakan ada dua siklus. Pada siklus I  rata-rata hasil belajar siswa diperoleh dengan nilai 61,9 yang terdiri 11siswa tuntas (47,82%) dan 12 siswa (52,18%) tidak tuntas. Untuk siklus II nilai hasil belajar meningkat dengan nilai rata-rata 78,26. siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan pada siklus II berjumlah 21 siswa (91,30) dan yang tidak tuntas berjumlah 2 siswa (8,70%). rata-rata nilai siklus II diatas KKM yang telah ditetapkan oleh sekolah yaitu 65. ketuntasan secara klasikal 80% meningkat dari 47,82% pada siklus I menjadi 91,30%. Dengan demikian melalui pembelajaran menggunakan media dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa di Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

Slag is the residual product of blast furnace combustion, which is produced in the form of iron slag which is still not used properly, causing problems for the environment. In line with the spirit of environmental preservation, companies producing slag waste are looking for solutions to utilize this slag waste. The aim of this research is to determine the compressive strength of iron slag waste as a partial substitute for coarse aggregate on the compressive strength of concrete and the effect of variations in the percentage of iron slag waste on the compressive strength of concrete. The data analysis technique used in this research uses descriptive parametric analysis. Data on concrete compressive strength test results is obtained from the division between the maximum load of the test object and the cross-sectional area of ​​the test object, then the data will be presented in the form of tables or graphs. The results of the research show that the influence of variations in the results of concrete compressive strength testing which takes into account variations in the mixture of iron slag waste with 3 variations, namely 0% (normal concrete), 5% and 10% of some of the coarse aggregate, results in concrete testing at the age of 28 days. in normal concrete or variations of 0% Iron slag waste with an average of 21.89 MPa. For a variation of 5% iron slag waste with an average of 23.12 Mpa. And for variations of 10% iron slag waste with an average of 26.04 MPa. From the results of adding or replacing coarse aggregate using iron slag waste in the mixture, the compressive strength of the concrete has increased, as is the result obtained, namely from adding 5% iron slag waste, an increase of 1.23 MPa compared to normal concrete. and the addition of iron slag waste by 10% decreased by 4.15 MPa from normal concrete.

Abstract

Makassar industrial area has increased economic activity and traffic. The aim of this research is to evaluate and maximize the types of traffic facilities needed to facilitate safe and efficient mobility in the Makassar Industrial Area. Field surveys, traffic volume analysis, and evaluation of existing infrastructure were carried out to achieve research objectives. The research results show that, as vehicle volumes increase, especially heavy vehicles, road infrastructure and supporting facilities must be adjusted. Widening roads, adding signs and markings, optimizing the traffic management system, and providing pedestrian facilities and public road lighting are the main recommendations. Additionally, it was decided that pedestrian facilities, a good drainage system, and access to emergency vehicles were of the utmost importance. It is hoped that the implementation of these recommendations will improve security, reduce congestion, and encourage sustainable economic growth in the Makassar Industrial Area.

Abstract

Land is one of the most important parts of a construction building. Soil strength is needed to support the load of a building. However, not all types of soil can be used directly to make construction buildings, one of which is peat soil in Sulobaja Village, Tobadak District, Central Mamuju Regency. So it is necessary to do soil improvement or soil stabilization in order to achieve the standard soil density value that is suitable for use for a construction building. From the results of testing the addition of sand to peat soil, the level of soil water content increased in a mixture of 5% and 10% sand, namely from the normal soil water content of 9.82% to 10.01% in a mixture of 5% sand and to 10.06% in the addition of 10% sand. Meanwhile, with the addition of 15% sand, the soil water content decreased to 8.22% and with the addition of sand, the degree of soil density increased from 84.11% to 86.06% with the addition of 5% sand, 89.36% with the addition of 10% sand, and to 93.50% with the addition of 15% sand, so it is known that the more sand is added, the higher the degree of soil density obtained.
