PKP Publishing Services offers a special Institutional hosting plan for Open Journal Systems (OJS) tailored towards higher education institutions (such as universities and colleges) that host multiple journals. To qualify for this plan, the institution must host at least 3 active non-student journals. Inactive journals can be hosted for an additional small annual fee and student journal hosting is free if you have a minimum of 5 active journals.
The Institutional hosting plan includes installation and hosting of OJS, daily backups of your data, security patches and bug fixes, free upgrades, unlimited storage, preservation in the PKP Preservation Network, use of a custom domain, and priority answering your support questions, plus these additional services:
- Standalone OJS installation
- Third-party plugins
- Introductory webinar training
- Up to 4 hours of OJS training per year
- Direct server access via SSH
- One free test OJS journal for the training of users and technical support
- Minor customizations
- Choice of free OJS theme
- Custom theme development a discounted additional fee
- Custom feature development for a discounted additional fee
Higher educational institutions that have 5 or more active, regular journals will also receive unlimited free student journal hosting as long as they maintain this minimum.
Higher education institutions that currently don’t qualify may upgrade to this plan once they meet the minimum number of journals.
If your are already using OJS, we offer migration assistance for a one-time flat fee per installation to move your OJS installation to our hosting environment.
