Abstract

Background: Pathogenic bacteria can be a significant cause of food poisoning. Bacterial growth in food can also cause undesirable physical or chemical changes, making the food unfit for consumption. Egg roll is a snack easily found in Banda Aceh City, which children and adults generally consume. Snacks that contain high bacteria are very dangerous for health.Objectives: This study aims to determine the types of pathogenic bacteria in egg rolls sold in Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh.Methods: This experimental study was conducted in Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City, 2020. Five samples were taken for bacterial examination at the Microbiology Laboratory, Medical Technology Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh. Bacterial identification on egg rolls was observed for four days. Data analysis was only done descriptively.Results: The study identifying pathogenic bacteria on egg rolls showed that the egg roll samples were contaminated with several harmful bacteria. The bacterial colonies varied from the lowest distribution of 453,333 to the highest of 1,150,000. The bacteria were Citrobacter freundii, Proteus mirabilis, and pathogenic bacteria Salmonella sp.Conclusion: Egg rolls sold on the roadside have been contaminated with bacteria. The bacteria identified were Citrobacter freundii, Proteus mirabilis, and pathogenic bacteria Salmonella sp. Suggestions and efforts are needed from the authorities to conduct health promotion and training for egg roll sellers to maintain hygiene and sanitation of both tools and places of sale.

Abstract

Background: Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is one of the bacteria that contribute to the occurrence of infectious diseases, such as mastitis, dermatitis, respiratory tract infections, and toxic shock syndrome. Therapy that can be given to patients with Staphylococcus aureus infection is antibiotics, but inappropriate antibiotics can cause resistance. Using herbal ingredients is an effort to deal with resistance due to the incompatibility of antibiotic administration. The essential herbal ingredients for therapy, namely lime extract (Citrus aurantifolia) and honey, have antibacterial substances such as flavonoids and essential oils.Objectives: The study aims to measure the combination of lime extract and honey in increasing the inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.Methods: Experimental research using a combination of lime and honey extracts, single preparation of lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia), and single preparation of honey with concentrations of 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%, as well as gentamycin antibiotics as positive control and NaCl 0,85% as a negative control. The research was conducted at the Microbiology Laboratory, Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Aceh Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, in May 2021. The experimental method used in this study is the diffusion method. Data were obtained by observing the study's results of increasing the inhibition of the combination of lime juice and honey against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Data analysis by measuring the average diameter of the antimicrobial inhibition zone against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.Results: The combination of lime extract and honey can form a more significant inhibition against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus compared to a single preparation of lime juice at concentrations of 100% and 75%. While at concentrations of 50% and 25%, no more significant inhibition was formed than in the single preparation.Conclusion: The combination of lime extract and honey can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

Background: Candida albicans is a fungus that requires organic compounds as a source of carbon and energy for growth and metabolic processes obtained from carbohydrates. One of the alternative media from materials that are readily available in nature but have not been widely utilized, namely from tubers such as white cassava (Manihot esculenta C.), which is believed to have a high carbohydrate content according to the needs of Candida albicans.Objectives: The study aims to determine whether white cassava can be used as an alternative medium for Candida albicans culture.Methods: The method used in this study is experimental, namely by seeing whether Candida albicans can grow or not on alternative media of white cassava. This study begins with the collection of Candida albicans specimens in patients with candidiasis, and then research is carried out at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Medical Laboratory Technology Department of the Aceh Ministry of Health Polytechnic. This research was carried out in 2020. The sample of this study was white cassava meat, as much as 150 grams. This study collected data by culturing Candida albicans on alternative media with raw materials for white cassava meat. For the identification of Candida albicans species, confirmation tests were carried out using the Germ tube test method. Furthermore, the data obtained from the assessment of colony growth (+) positive Candida albicans on white cassava media (Manihot esculenta C.) incubated for 72 hours (± three days) at 370C.Results: Based on the macroscopic and microscopic assessments, Candida albicans can grow well on white cassava media (Manihot esculenta C.).Conclusion: Alternative media of white cassava raw materials (Manihot esculenta C.) can be used as a culture medium for Candida albicans.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a group of metabolic disorders with typical symptoms of hyperglycemia. Blood glucose examination can use a spectrophotometer and a glucometer (Point of Care Test). Although both are used to check blood glucose, these two tools have some differences when viewed from the working principle, the samples used, and their benefits. Both tools have advantages and disadvantages. The cost factor, a spectrophotometer is more expensive and requires more blood and a long time. Compared to glucometers, which are cheaper, easier to use, and have faster results. However, the level of reliability in measuring the value of fasting blood sugar levels is not yet significantly known.Objectives: This study aims to measure the difference in fasting blood sugar levels based on a spectrophotometer examination with a glucometer examination at Sukajaya Health Center, Sabang City.Methods: The analytical descriptive research uses a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted at the Sukajaya Health Center in Sabang City in October 2019. The object of this study was 24 patients. The examination is carried out through a Duplo process to avoid errors. The tools used to check fasting blood sugar levels are Spectrophotometer and Glucometer. Data analysis used non-parametric statistical tests, namely Kruskal Wallis, at 95% CI.Results: The average fasting blood glucose level using a spectrophotometer with repetition twice (Duplo) is 146.83 mg/dl (minimum= 77 mg/dl and maximum= 404 mg/dl). While the average value of fasting blood glucose levels examined using a glucometer is 158,25 mg/dl (minimum = 66 mg/dl and maximum= 424 mg/dl). The results of statistical tests indicate a difference in the average fasting blood glucose levels in patients examined using a spectrophotometer with a glucometer (p= 0,019; p < 0,05) at UPTD Puskesmas Sukajaya Sabang City.Conclusion: Using a glucometer, the results of checking blood glucose levels show a higher value than a spectrophotometer. There are differences in fasting blood sugar levels in patients examined with a spectrophotometer and glucometer.

Abstract

Background: the COVID-19 pandemic has affected people's preferences, namely the tendency to shop online. This change in people's tastes is supported by advances in digital technology, as a culinary delivery service. This progress allegedly has the potential to increase the use of plastic as packaging. This increase will pose a risk of packaging waste in the environment.Objectives: this study aims to describe the level of public knowledge about online food preferences and waste generation during the Covid-19 pandemic.Methods: this study used a cross-sectional design, with a purposive sampling technique of 30 respondents with inclusion criteria being online drivers who are located around the location of Jl. Daud Beureuh, Banda Aceh, and has worked for at least 1 month. Data collection was carried out by direct observation and interviews which were carried out in May 2022. The data obtained was then analyzed descriptively and the chi square correlation test.Results: the results of the descriptive study showed that online food preferences during the Covid-19 pandemic were in the increasing category by 19 people (63.3%). While knowledge about waste generation during the Covid-19 pandemic was in the positive category as many as 16 people (53.3%). The p-value = 0.44 The results of this study indicate that there is no relationship between knowledge of online food preferences and the generation of packaging waste during the Covid-19 pandemic.Conclusion: the description of the level of online food preference knowledge is increasing, while the knowledge of waste generation during the Covid-19 pandemic is positive. However, there is no correlation between online food preferences and packaging waste generation.

Abstract

Lumpur  yang dihasilkan dari pengolahan air menjadi masalah  bagi  lingkungan. Sistem daur ulang lumpur tawas dan lumpur PAC untuk dijadikan bahan penggumpal dalam mengurangi warna pada air  menjadi pertimbangan dengan harapan penggunaan kembali lumpur tersebut dapat dioptimalkan. Alum merupakan senyawa yang   terdapat   pada   lumpur   karena   proses   koagulasi   (coagulation)   atau destabilisasi suspendes contaminant menggunakan tawas (alum/alumunium hidroksida) dan PAC (Poly Aluminium Clorida) membentuk settleable flocs yang mengendap pada bak sedimentasi. Secara teoritis tawas dan PAC yang bereaksi dengan koloida menghasilkan endapan jenis aquometalic dan hydrogen , lumpur  alum terbentuk dari setiap penambahan Tawas dan PAC membentuk aluminium hidroksida Al(OH)3 solids (padatan).Salah satu senyawa kimia yang ada di air adalah Besi (Fe) kandungan Fe dalam bentuk   ikatan   dapat   berupa   Fe2O3,   Fe(OH)2,   Fe(OH)3    yang   tersuspensi membentuk koloidal yang berwarna kuning atau FeSO4 tergantung dari unsur lain yang mengikatnya.Dalam   proses   penjernihan   air,   alum  akan   terkoagulasi   membentuk endapan.  Endapan  ini  selanjutnya  mengikat  partikel  tersuspensi  dan  senyawa koloid  dalam  air  yang  akhirnya  tersedimentasi  pada  dasar  tangki.  Dikaitkan dengan proses ini, limbah lumpur  yang berasal dari proses pengolahan air PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh ini diharapkan mampu menurunkan   warna dan kadar dari Fe.Pengumpulan limbah lumpur alum dari  PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh, hasil pengeringan   dicampur  air yang  mengandung  Fe  pada kecepatan    100-140  rpm dengan konentrasi 4 gr/L, 6 gr/L, 8 gr/L dan 10 gr/L. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan harapan bisa memaksimalkan pemanfaatan limbah PDAM serta mencari solusi alternatif bahan penjernih  air dari limbah sehingga bisa diaplikasikan dalam pengolahan air khususnya menurunkan warna Fe dan kadar Fe. Hasil penelitian diperoleh lumpur alum PDAM tirta Daroy Banda Aceh dapat menurunkan Fe pada konsentrasi 10 gr/L dengan pH-6 dengan efisiensi penurunan 91,33%.

Abstract

Tujuan penulisan karya ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengembangan program pelatihan keterampilan usaha kecil dan menengah (UKM) dalam meningkatkan perekonomian lokal di Kabupaten Karawang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk pengembangan Program Pelatihan Keterampilan Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) di Kabupaten Karawang adalah pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR). Pendekatan ini melibatkan partisipasi aktif pemilik UKM dan pemangku kepentingan dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi program. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup wawancara, survei, dan observasi, sedangkan data yang dikumpulkan akan dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan pengkodean data dan penyusunan naratif untuk mengidentifikasi masalah dan solusi yang relevan. Hasil karya ini yaitu program pelatihan keterampilan UKM di Kabupaten Karawang adalah inisiatif komprehensif yang melibatkan partisipasi aktif pemilik UKM dan pemangku kepentingan. Ini mencakup pelatihan teknis, manajerial, keuangan, dan literasi keuangan untuk meningkatkan produksi dan daya saing UKM. Program juga mencakup aspek seperti teknologi informasi, keterampilan sosial, keberlanjutan lingkungan, dan kolaborasi untuk memberdayakan UKM secara menyeluruh. Dengan pendekatan holistik ini, diharapkan UKM di Kabupaten Karawang dapat berkembang dan berkontribusi pada pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal serta memiliki peluang pasar yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Hospital waste is all waste produced by hospital activities and other supporting activities. Considering the impacts that may arise, good management efforts are needed including tools and facilities, finances and organizational procedures that are determined with the aim of obtaining hospital conditions that meet environmental health requirements. The research used was observational with a descriptive approach, namely to determine the quality of liquid waste in hospitals in Makassar. This research was conducted from 20 to 27 June 2021 at the Hospital in Makassar. The population is liquid waste in hospitals in Makassar in 2021. The sample in this study is hospital effluent waste in Makassar in 2021. Waste water that is not handled properly will result in negative impacts, especially for health, so it needs good management so that when it is disposed of in A certain area does not cause pollution which is supported by the wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) owned by the hospital itself. It was concluded that the DO levels in the liquid waste produced were at a vulnerable level. The BOD level in liquid waste in the morning is at a moderate level and in the afternoon it is at a heavy level. COD levels in Makassar liquid waste in the morning are at moderate levels and in the afternoon at heavy levels. TSS levels in liquid waste in the morning are at moderate levels and in the afternoon they are at heavy levels. The pH level in liquid waste meets the requirements. TEMPERATURE levels in liquid waste meet the requirements.

Abstract

Kecenderungan remaja laki-laki untuk melakukan hal -hal yang dianggap menantang meningkat dibandingkan remaja perempuan. Kita semua menanggung risiko mengasuh anak seburuk itu. Tujuan : Mengetahui segala bahaya dan dampak dari penggunaan narkoba itu sendiri dan untuk berhenti mengkonsumsi narkoba karena adanya kebutuhan akan rasa aman dari ancaman dari luar. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus , Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah pihak - pihak yang terlibat dalam pelaksanaan analisis pengetahuan dan motivasi putra pemuda secara substansi. Hasil: Penelitian yang peneliti lakukan belum sesuai dengan taksonomi teori bahwa pengetahuan akan menunjang terbentuknya sikap positif, namun pengetahuan tetap tidak melahirkan sikap positif melainkan melahirkan penyimpangan, teori subjektivitas dalam memandang permasalahan sehingga telanjang itu hambatan untuk menjawab kenyataan yang begitu kaku dengan perubahan zaman yang begitu cepat . Taksonomi melahirkan teori pada waktu dan tempat dimana dia lahir, sedangkan teori terjadi karena dua hal yaitu waktu dan tempat sehingga sulit menjawan realitas kontemporer. Teori teori sosial jarang bertahan diatas diatas 50 tahun selalu bertahan atau berlaku dibawah 50 tahun karena proses perubahannya begitu cepat dan perlu infensi ( Temuan baru teori). Kesimpulan: Pengetahuan informan S dan Infoman D tentang dampak dan bahaya penganiayaan menunjukkan bahwa mereka mengetahui segala bahaya dan dampak dari penggunaan pergaulan bebas ini sendiri , Informan S dan informan D merupakan lulusan Sarjana 1 , walaupun tingkat fisioterapinya tinggi dan _ mempunyai pengetahuan yang memumpuni terhadap dampak dan bahaya penyalahgunaan , namun tidak menjadi jaminan untuk menghindari dan tidak menyalahgunakan narkoba , menyebabkan ketersediakan kehidupan pergaulan bebas di sekitar Pelapor begitu mudah didapat. Motivasi dalam penyalahgunaan zat infoman S dan informan _ D sedikit berbeda tetapi ke arah salah satu arahnya adalah dengan menyegarkan kembali pikiran dalam setiap permasalahan yang mereka temui dalam kehidupan sehari- hari.

Abstract

Every day waste production is increasing along with the increase in the number of products and people's consumption patterns. As a consequence, the waste problem becomes neglected, as waste management is difficult for the community to control. Maintaining the cleanliness of the living environment is very important by managing waste through the use of existing facilities to reduce the accumulation of waste, especially household waste. For this reason, Community Service activities are held with the aim of providing education as well as building public awareness of the importance of managing waste. As a form of implementation of one of the Tri Dharmas of Higher Education. The method used is counseling about waste as well as education about how to manage waste by utilizing existing facilities and also simulating waste sorting by participants. As a result of implementing this PKM activity, the community can implement good and correct waste management in their daily lives and can take advantage of existing waste management facilities around where the community lives.
