Abstract

The study was aimed to obtain the information on the genetic diversity on agronomic traits of wheat among the F3 and F4 generations, derived from crosses of Oasis x HP1744, planted at the highland and medium elevation. The second objective was to acquire the character for selection and to acquire the adaptable genotypes on the highland and on the plain medium elevation. Selection was carried out using Shuttle Breeding, where F3 generation was selected at the Experimental Station of Cipanas (1100 m asl) and F4 generation was selected at the plain medium elevation of Cisarua (600 m asl). The experiment used Augmented Designs. Genetic material consisted of 57 F3 pedigree families selected from the F2 generation of Oasis x HP1744 cross plus six check varieties. The F4 generation cinsisted 320 selected genotypes from the F3 generation plus six check varieties. Plant height, flag leaf area, percentage of empty florets per panicle, number of grains/panicle and grain weight/panicle of the F3 generation showed larger mid value than the two parents. In the F4 generation, flag leaf greenness, total number of tillers, number of productive tillers, main panicle seed weight, number of seeds/panicle, seed weight/panicle, number of seeds/plant and seed weight/plant indicated the mean value larger than that of the Oasis. Plant height, number of productive tillers, days to flowering, maturity, spikelet number, and the total number of florets of the F4 generation showed higher heritability than that of F3 generation. Character suitable for indirect selection in the F3 was plant height, which indicated the best indirect differential selection. Potential families for further selection included: O/HP 21, O/HP 82, O/HP 12, O/HP 100 and O/HP 28. Characters most suitable for indirect selection in the F4 generation were: main panicle seed weight which indicated the best indirect differential selection. Genotypes potential for further selection in the medium elevation were O/HP82-19; O/HP82-15, O/HP78-5, O/HP49-30 and O/HP78-2.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pemberian air cucian ikan bandeng dan air cucian beras terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman anggrek dan untukmengetahuikonsentrasi yang tepatuntukpenggunaan air cucian ikan bandeng dan air cucian beras terhadappertumbuhan tanaman anggrek.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Rumah Anggrek Fakultas Pertanian Kampus II Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo, Kelurahan Batupasi, Kecamatan Wara Utara Kota Palopo.Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai dari Bulan Februari sampai Mei 2018. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap, yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 12 unit percobaan. Adapun perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu P0 = kontrol, P1 = air cucian ikan bandeng 50 ml/tanaman dan air cucian beras 50 ml/tanaman. P2 = air cucian Ikan bandeng 100 ml/ tanaman dan air cucian beras 100 ml/tanaman. P3 = air cucian ikan bandeng 150 ml/tanaman dan air cucian beras 150 ml/tanaman.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian air cucian ikan bandeng dan air cucian beras tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, lebar daun, berpengaruh nyata terhadap diameter batang karena penyerapan unsur hara yang tidak terpenuhi oleh tanaman. Perlakuan P1 menghasilkan tinggi tanaman terbaik dengan rata-rata 16.01 cm, jumlah daun terbaik dengan rata-rata 4.67 helai, lebar daun terbaik dengan rata-rata 44.67 cm, dan diameter batang terbaik dengan rata-rata 46.20 cm. Kata kunci: Air cucian beras, air cucian ikan bandeng, pertumbuhan tanaman anggrek.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan memperoleh informasi mengenai aksi gen yang mengendalikan karakter agronomi di dataran menengah dan memperoleh informasi karakter-karakter agronomi yang dapat dijadikan sebagai karakter seleksi pada dataran menengah.Penelitian F4 dilaksanakan di dataran menengah lahan pertanianKecamatan Cisarua, Kabupaten Bogor (± 600 m dpl) bulan Februari 2013 sampai Mei 2013menggunakan rancangan Augmented Design.Materi genetik yang digunakan yaitu 320 galur F4 yang diperoleh dari seleksi pedigree 1710 individu F3.Varietas Selayar, Dewata, Rabe, Basribey, Oasis, dan HP1744 sebagai varietas pembanding.Karakter tinggi tanaman, kehijauan daun bendera, jumlah anakan produktif, umur berbunga, umur panen, jumlah spikelet, jumlah floret total, jumlah floret hampa per malai, persentase floret hampa per malai, jumlah biji malai utama, bobot biji malai utama, jumlah biji per malai, bobot biji per malai, jumlah biji per tanaman dan bobot biji per tanaman memiliki nilai heritabilitas dan koefisien keragaman genetik yang tinggi. Karakter jumlah anakan total dan persentase floret hampa per malai dikendalikan oleh sedikit gen, karakter jumlah biji per malai dikendalikan oleh banyak gen. Tetapi, karakter jumlah anakan total, persentase floret hampa per malai, dan jumlah biji per malai di pengaruhi oleh aksi gen aditif dan terdapat pengaruh epistasis komplementer. Karakter jumlah anakan total, jumlah anakan produktif, jumlah biji malai utama, bobot biji malai utama, jumlah biji per malai, bobot biji per malai dan jumlah biji per tanaman memiliki koefisien korelasi yang tinggi, positif dan sangat nyata terhadap karakter bobot biji per tanaman. Karakter bobot biji malai utama dapat dijadikan sebagai indikator kriteria seleksi untuk memperoleh genotipe gandum yang berproduksi tinggi dan mampu beradaptasi pada dataran menengah

Abstract

Karakter jumlah anakan total dan persentase floret hampaper malai dipengaruhi oleh beberapa gen. Karakter jumlah biji per malai dipengaruhi oleh banyak gen. Terdapat pengaruh aksi gen aditif dan epistasis duplikat pada karakter jumlah anakan total dan jumlah biji per malai. Karakter persentase floret hampa per malai di pengaruhi oleh aksi gen aditif dan epistasis komplementer. Karakter seleksi untuk generasi F3 adalah berat biji per tanaman dan jumlah biji per malai.Famili F3 yang terseleksi adalah O/HP 21, O/HP 93, O/HP 82, O/HP 6, O/HP 93, O/HP 104, O/HP 22, O/HP 37, O/HP 115 , dan O/HP 30.

Abstract

Seed viability is the ability of seed to germinate which is demonstrated by a variety of physiological or biochemical phenomena. Paper media can be used for testing seed viability. This study aimed to determine the most effective method of seed germination utilizing paper media for the viability of sesame seeds. The research was conducted at the Seed Laboratory of the Sweetener and Fiber Crops Research Institute, Malang in March – May 2020. The research method used a two-factor factorial Completely Randomized Design. The first factor was the sesame seed variety which consisted of SBR 1 and Winas 1. The second factor was the seed germination method which consisted of a test on top of paper, a test on rolled top papers, a test between of papers and a test between folded paper. Each treatment was replicated four times, resulting 32 experimental units. Sesame seed viability was significantly affected by the manner of seed germination using paper media, according to the findings. In comparison to other treatments, sesame seeds of the Winas 1 variety exhibited the highest percentages of simultaneous growth, germination, vigor index, normal seedling dry weight, hypocotyl length, and radicle length when tested on rolled top paper

Abstract

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is a staple food for most of world population and has a good prospect considering the great potential of land to be planted with this plant species which contains carbohydrate of 70% and protein of 3%. The development of this commodity was started from agricultural extensification and production increase through the implementation of cropping system. This study was aimed to provide information on suitable cropping system for wheat cultivation and to examine the effect of cropping system on the increase in wheat production in medium land of Palopo City. This study was conducted in farmer land in Kambo Village, Mungkajang Subdistrict of Palopo City, South Sulawesi at elevation of ± 600 m asl from June until September 2017. This research uses two factor factorial in randomized block design. The first factor consisted of two cropping systems, namely line up system (S1) and Hazton system (S2). While, the second factor included two varieties, namely Guri 4 variety (V1) and Guri 6 variety (V2). Study result for vegetative phase showed that the best plant height was obtained using line up cropping system in Guri 4 variety (S1V1) with average of 73.91 cm. Implementation of Hazton cropping system in Guri 4 variety (S2V1) resulted in the best flag leaf area with average of 40.23 cm2. Hazton cropping system implementation in Guri 6 variety (V2S2) indicated the best green color with average value of 11.00 unit. Furthermore, application of line up cropping system (S1) produced the best total tiller number with average of 18.22 tillers. Therefore, it is concluded that the use of Hazton cropping system was able to increase the wheat production and Guri 4 Variety is expected to adapt to grow in the medium land of Palopo City

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the viability rate of rosella seed, to obtain the best result of seed testing for enhancing rosella seed viability, to find the best seed invigoration method for enhancing rosella seed viability, to obtain staining pattern through tetrazolium test of rosella seed, and to determine viability and vigor of rosella seed to be further used as estimation indicator for rosella plant growth in the field. The study was conducted in the Seed Laboratory, Indonesian Sweetener and Fiber Crops Research Institute (ISFCRI), Malang, East Java during July - August 2018. The material used included accessions of rosella seed (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) ACC. 1148 from the year 2015 and collection of ISFCRI, 100 ml of Tetrazolium solution (40 ml KH2PO4, 60 ml Na2HPO4 and 1 gr of Tetrazolium powder). This research applied Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted of seed treatments of control (no immersion/0 hour), immersion for 5 hours, immersion for 10 hours, and scarification, each with 4 replications. Result of this study showed that the use of tetrazolium salt was found to be better in enhancing the viability of rosella seeds. Viable seeds was found to have bright red embryonic axis and bright red cotyledon. Testing using paper media on several seed invigoration treatments resulted in significantly different effect on parameters of vigor index, germination capacity, and dry weight of normal seedling. The best parameter of germination capacity and dry weight of normal seedling was obtained by treatment immersed in water at temperature of 27°C for 10 hours

Abstract

The program of cotton variety improvement is carried out by increasing the productivity and quality of fiber in order to rise the competitiveness of cotton farming through the production of fiber quality that is in accordance with the demand of export-oriented national textile industry. This study aimed to determine the performance of the Kanesia-10 cotton phenotype cultivated using liquid organic fertilizer in the lowlands and obtain the best concentration of liquid organic fertilizer in improving Kanesia 10 cotton performance. This research was conducted in Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Cokroaminoto Palopo from August to November 2018. The genetic material used was Kanesia 10 cotton variety for its fiber content of 27.2%, production of 2.457,2 kg cotton seed per hectare and fiber uniformity of 83,3-84,6%. This study used a randomized block design consisting of five treatments and four times. The treatment used was control (P0), 50 ml/L POC of gamal leaves (P1), and 100 ml/L of gamal leaves (P2) 150 ml/L POC of gamal leaves (P3), and 200 ml/L POC of gamal leaves (P4), so that there were 20 experimental units. The use of liquid organic fertilizer produces heterogeneous phenotypic performance for the parameters of the number of fruits per plot with a diversity coefficient value reaching 32.93%. The treatment of liquid organic fertilizer with a concentration of 50 ml / L resulted in the performance of plant height, number of leaves, number of fruits per plot, and the best fruit weight per plot with a mean of 64.13 cm, 57.75 strands, 43.00 fruits and 7.60 g, respectively

Abstract

The conversion of land into settlements is increasing every year, resulting in reduced agricultural land. The lack of agricultural land makes people in urban areas have to grow crops with urban farming concepts such as oyster mushroom cultivation. The concept of urban farming is one of the best solutions that can be implemented in a city like Parepare. Cultivating oyster mushrooms with the concept of urban farming is expected to increase people's income in Parepare City. This activity will be held at the Mushroom Cafe in March - April 2023. The formulation of this activity is that the people of Parepare City lack agricultural land and lack knowledge about urban farming. The purpose of this activity is so that people can apply the concept of urban farming by cultivating oyster mushrooms. This activity was carried out using 3 methods, namely: 1) socialization, 2) training and 3) practice. The stages of this activity are, 1) the community is given material on mushroom cultivation starting from preparing the tools and materials needed for harvesting and marketing, 2) the community is given the opportunity to practice directly accompanied by resource persons and 3) the community practices independently what has been given by resource persons. As a result of these activities, the people of Parepare City enthusiastically listened to every material presented and carried out hands-on practice. The conclusion from this activity is that the people of Parepare City are interested in applying the concept of urban farming with oyster mushroom cultivation.

Abstract

One the campus placement schools teaching class VII 2024 is UPT SD Negeri 182 Pinrang, located at jln.H. Kanebo No.1 Ujung Lero, Suppa sub-district, Pinrang district, South Sulawesi. Lero village is in the coastal area and is known as a maritime community whose source of income or livelihood is the majority of the population as fisherman and their income comes from the sea. As om of the school located at the tip of lero, the aim of this service is to increase students marine literacy who are expected to be able to understand and evaluate every from of activity or activity in the fisheries sektor by teaching basic concepts through curricular activities, namely local fisheries content. The learning media used are learning videos and the implementation of pre-test and post-tests to determine the level of students understanding of the learning outcomes. Based on the results of the pre-test and post- test, about fisheries mulok has increased their knowledge and understanding of marine literacy.
