Abstract

Numbers of TB in Indonesia are increasing by years. One of the causes of TB control challenges is the lack of community awareness of TB disease. The Madurese are very culturally and very obedient to the kiai (religious leaders) as well as the level of TB disease in areas where they are still high. This study aimed to explore the community's self-efficacy towards TB prevention through a cultural approach. Method: This study is a quasi experimental study with two control and treatment groups (pre-post design). The sample of this study were 100 respondents (50 controls groups and 50 treatment groups) which selected by simple random sampling based on the inclusion criteria. Data then analyzed by using paired t test dan independent t test. Result: there was significant effect of P value = 0.000 in treatment group, there was self efficacy improvement after the delivery of intervention with culture approach. Discussion: Interventions for TB prevention require innovation with cultural approaches adopted by the community (such as working with kiai, people who are considered to have charisma for certain community groups) to make it easier to implement TB prevention. Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Peak expiratory flow influenced by several things, such as anxiety, a psychological factor that is becoming a major comorbidities of COPD and affect the occurrence of exacerbations, increase respiration rate, duration expiratory time, and hyperinflation. This study aimed to determine the effect of combination pursed lip breathing and guided imagery music to increase  value of peak expiratory flow in patients with COPD. Methods: The study was quasi-experimental design with pretest posttest with control group approach, respondents of this study is 46 patients with COPD with sampling technique, simple random sampling. Results: Pursed lip breathing increase peak expiratory flow values by the significant of p value = 0.000 (p <0.05). The combination of pursed lip breathing and guided imagery music increase peak expiratory flow values by the significant of p value = 0.000 (p <0.05). COPD patients who received a combination of pursed lip breathing and guided imagery music increased peak expiratory flow value higher than the pursed lip breathing without combination with significant of p value = 0.000 (p <0.05).Conclusion:The combination of pursed lip breathing and guided imagery music proved to have an effect on increasing the value of peak expiratory flow higher than pursed lip breathing without combination.

Abstract

Klampis Ngasem is one of the areas in East Surabaya, precisely in Sukolilo sub-district, Surabaya. The target group in the community partnership program (PKM) is the Elderly Posyandu "Barokah" in RW 3. Problems that occur in the Elderly Barokah Posyandu are less varied activities and innovation so that some elderly are less interested and bored to follow routinely as indicated by the presence of the elderly < 75%, the absence of efforts to prevent dementia that is carried out regularly and continue for the elderly, lack of elderly knowledge about changes in cognitive function and efforts to maintain cognitive function so as to prevent dementia, and the availability of leisure time for the elderly in addition to routine posyandu activities and those that have not been utilized to be useful and productive. The solution to overcome these problems is through the application of Art Therapy to make colet batik. The purpose of this community service is to help express themselves, maintain the cognitive function of the elderly and provide new skills in making batik as an activity in the Posyandu Elder Barokah Klampis Ngasem Village. The activities carried out are screening to see the cognitive function of the elderly using Mini mental state examination (MMSE) and clock drawing test (CDT), counseling about prevention of dementia which includes knowing dementia, prevention of dementia, and art therapy, batik colet training with demonstration methods, and simulation. The results of batik colet will be processed again with the help of cadres or the elderly who have sewing skills to be used as sofa pillowcases. From this process, a work or product will be produced from the batik colet method.

Data were collected using questionnaire namely; HBM (health belief model)questionnaire which was translated and modified, and Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (VHS) questionnaire. Theindependent variables in this study were perceived benefits of vaccines, perceived barriers to vaccines, knowledge about vaccines. The dependent variable was vaccine hesitancy. Spearman rho analysis was usedto measure the relationship between the dependent and independent variables. Results: The results of the Spearman rho analysis showed that the perceived benefits of vaccines (p=0.363of anti-vaccine, p=0.702 of pro-vaccine), the perceived barriers to vaccines (p=0.410 of anti-vaccine,p=0.341 of pro-vaccine), and knowledge about vaccines (p=0.413 of anti-vaccine, p=0.192 of pro-vaccine)was related to vaccine hesitancy in parents.Discussion: This study results indicated that the perceived benefits of vaccines, perceived barriers tovaccines, and knowledge about vaccines are related to vaccine hesitancy in parents.
