Abstract

The research aiming at identifying morphology and anatomy of (Citrus sp.) at Hangira Village and Baleura Village of Central Lore Sub-District of Poso Regency was conducted in September until November 2015 and the observation of anatomy was held at Pest and Plant Disease Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture of Tadulako University. The researcher used descriptive method with direct survey in location of research. The determination of the location was based on the information and survey having been done at Hangira Village and Baleura Village of Central Lore Sub-District of Poso Regency. The observation was done based on morphological character of form and colourof the stem, form of branching, canopy, canopy’s diameter, stem’s surface, edge and tip of the leaves, leaf symetry, flush colour, upper and lower surfaces of leaves, flesh of leaf, leaf size, colour of leaf stalk, form of stalk, and length of stalk. The anatomical character of the leaf consists of stomatal density and index. The analysis was then continued by using cluster analysis of SYSTAT 8.0software program. Key Words: Anatomy, Citrus, morphological character.

Abstract

Mango (Mangifera indica), is a fruit that comes from India, it has many varieties. Mangoes are generally marketed in the form of fresh, both for domestic and export purposes.       The objectives of this study were to assess the accession mango dodor in Lembah Palu through characterization of morphological and anatomical Toaya and Lero Village Donggala District.      The research method using accessibility method by observing plant morphology character was continued with characterization of diversity using cluster analysis using systat software 0.8.         The results showed that there were several different accessions in each village in Sindue subdistrict based on morphological and anatomical characteristics.The different accessions in Toaya Village   at a distance of 0.6 were obtained TF11, TF9, TF14. Lero village have different accessions, namely LR6, LR14, and LR13 and in Sindue sub-districts TF9, LR6, and LR15. Keywords: Anatomy, Mango, morphology.

Abstract

The study aim wasto examine the viability and vigority of clover seedsat different growth media. The study used a Randomized Completelydesign at the first stage and a Randomized Block design at the second stage.Four different growth media as the treatments were consisted ofsawdust (m1), rice husk (m2), cocopeat (m3) and sand (m4). Each treatment had three replicates; therefore, there were12 experimental units in total. The data obtained was analyzed using  analysis of variance. The results showed that 98.67% germination rate was stimulated by the cocopeat with100% growth potential, and time to germinate 97 days averagely better that the other treatments.  The sawdust stimulated the first leaf areaof 3.33 cm2wider than the other treatments whereas the cocopeat produced hypothetical vigor index of 2.24higher than the other treatments. Key Words: Clove media,Viability, and Vigor

Abstract

Mango (Mangifera indica L) is a kind of anually fruit tree which come from India. The main purpose of this research is to examining and identifying a morphology and structure of  local manggo at Central Toboli Village, Subdisctrict North Parigi, and Olaya Village in subdistrict Parigi The regency of Parigi Maoutong as a pioneer of a mother of the plant. This research is held at central Toboli Village and Olaya village the regency of Parigi Moutong and was continued at a Biology Laboratory of MIPA faculty Tadulako University, July untill August 2016. This research is using a survey method, the first activity is taking a decision of a location of research, the location of research is decided intentionally (purpose sampling) base on information from Agriculture Departement and the local resident and also concerning to see the influenses a manggo plant base on the result of the surveyfrom several subdistrict, that those subdistrict has many vegetations of manggo plants compared to other location. The result shows that there are many choosen access from several villages of subdistrict of Parigi and North Parigi according to characteristic of Morfology, structure, stem, and the leaves structure of Manggo plant which represented by two accesses averagely from each village. At central toboli at 0.695 achieved by two choosen accesses, they are TBI8 and TBI2. Olaya village has two accesses, they are OLY4 and OLY5 and at the combination of those two villages represented by the access of TBI8 and OLY4. Keyword: Anatomy, Mango, Morphology.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of mango plants relied on morphological and anatomical leaf of mango plants in the villages of Nambo and Laroue,subdistrict of East Bungku, Morowali district. An observation of morphological features was conducted in Nambo and Laroue, whereas anatomical observations had been made in the laboratory of Biotechnology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University Tadulako, from April to July in 2016. The morphological parameters observed includedage of the plant, plant height, stem diameter, canopy diameter, canopy shape and color bars. The alteration of leaf anatomy consists of the size of the stomata, the size of the epidermis, and stomatal index. Moreover, the resulthighlightsmorphological and anatomical characters observed on cluster analysis, described in the form of a dendrogram.The implication of the cluster analysis for two villages resultsin four accessions, namely NM1, NM2, NM15 and LR4 that can be benefited as the planting material of quality mango seeds which will be cultivated.

Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menginventarisasi dan mengkarakterisasi kultivar  “Jagung Ketan” serta mengidentifikasi keragaman karakter dari hasil pengelompokkan (cluster)  kultivar Jagung Ketan yang terdapat di Desa Pusungi, Uebone, dan Kajulangko Kecamatan Ampana Tete Kabupaten Tojo Una-una dilaksanakan bulan Januari-Maret 2010. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dan observasi dimana lokasi penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan informasi yang diperoleh Dinas Pertanian, Perkebunan, Peternakan, dan Kesehatan Hewan Kabupaten Tojo Una-una. Pengamatan dilakukan berdasarkan karakter morfologi tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, panjang daun, lebar daun, umur bebunga, lebar daun, panjang tongkol, lilit tongkol tanpa biji, lilit tongkol dengan biji, panjang tangkai tongkol, jumlah biji per tongkol, jumlah baris biji per tongkol, jumlah biji per baris, panjang baris biji per tongkol, bobot biji per tongkol, bobot biji dan tongkol, bobot tongkol, bobot 100 biji, dan warna biji.  Analisis dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan analisis cluster program software SYSTAT 8.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakter morfologi yang diamati  berdasarkan analisis cluster yang digambarkan dengan dendrogram kecamatan terlihat antar desa menghasilkan tiga kelompok kultivar yang memiliki hubungan kekerabatan, masing-masing diwakili oleh sampel UB01 dari desa Uebone, KJ02 dan KJ04 dari desa Kajulangko yang merupakan kultivar terpilih di Kecamatan Ampana Tete.

Abstract

The research aiming to invent, characterize, and identify the character varieties of cultivar cluster of glutinous maize at Mire, Watusongu, and Paranonge Villages of Ulubongka Subdistric Tojo Una-una Residence was conducted in January to March 2010. The research employs survey and observation where sample locations is based on information taken from Agriculture, Estate,  Animal Husbandry and Animal Healthy Agencies of Tojo Una-una Regency. Observation was focused on morphological characters such as plant weight, stem diameter, length and width of leaf flowering time, knob length, knob circle with and without seeds, length of stem stalk, number of seed per knob, number of seed rows per knob, number of seeds per row, length of seed row per knob, seed weight per knob, knob weight, weight of knob without seed, weight of 100 seeds, and number of seed colour. Cluster analysis was done further using SYSTAT 8,0 Software Program. The result shows that based on sub regency dendrogram there are six cultivar groups with genetic relationship, of each was represented by PR01 and PR04 from Paranonge Village, MR04, MR05 and MR01 from Mire Village, and WT04 from Watusongu Village as chosen cultivars at Ulubongka Subdistrict

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kevigoran bibit kakao pada berbagai lama penyimpanan dan invigorasi benih. Penelitian ini disusun berdasarkan pola faktorial menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, dengan 2 faktor.  Faktor pertama adalah lama penyimpanan benih yang terdiri dari lima taraf yaitu: 1) control , 2) lama simpan 2 minggu, 3) lama simpan 4 minggu,  4) lama simpan 6 minggu, 5) lama simpan 8 minggu. Faktor kedua adalah cara invigorasi benih dengan menggunakan ZPT yang terdiri dari empat macam yaitu: 1) tanpa ZPT, 2) 0,01 m mol GA3, 3) 0,01 m mol GA3 + 0,1 m mol NAA, 4) air kelapa.  Data yang diperoleh dianalisis ragam, data yang memiliki koefisien keragaman lebih dari 20% ditransformasikan ke √ x + 0,5  Sedangkan perlakuan yang berpengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ pada taraf  0,05.  Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa : Semakin lama benih disimpan menyebabkan vigor bibit juga semakin menurun.  Invigorasi dengan GA3 + NAA memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap persentase  bibit vigor, tinggi bibit, jumlah daun dan indeks vigor hipotetik. Air kelapa dapat menjadi alternative cara invigorasi benih kakao yang telah mengalami kemunduran.

Abstract

The main obstacle frequently encountered by farmers of red onions in farming business is a lack of high quality seedling sources causing many farmers had to grow on low quality seeds. Therefore, the production resulted was very low and the seeds were very small. Technology of seed production and storage are expected to supply quality seeds when required in enormous amount. The research aims at determining the effect of varieties and length of storage time on viability and vigor of onion seeds. The research employed a randomized block design with two factorial experiment. The first factor was red onion variety consisting of Lembah Palu variety and Palasa variety.  The second factor was the length of storage time consisting of three levels: 20 days, 40 days and 60 days. Water content and seed loss of the red onions stored depended on the varieties and the length of storage time. The water content of the Lembah  Palu and Palasa varieties stored for 60 days was 74-76 %,  yet the weight loss of the Lembah  Palu variety was about >50% larger than that of the Palasa variety which was only about >35%. Germinating capacity of both varieties after 60 days storage was better (> 85 %). Vigor of the Palasa seeds were higher than that of the Lembah Palu seeds.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed at obtaining high vigor of Kweni mango seeds. It was conducted in April to July 2017, at the Laboratory of Seed Technology and Academic Gardens of the Agriculture Faculty of Tadulako University, Palu.  It was carried out in two stages: the viability testing using a completely randomized design (RAL) in which the seeds were taken from different sources i.e. Ipi 1, Ipi 14 and Bente 8; and the vigor testing using a randomized block design (RAK) in which the seeds were grouped based on the height of the parent tree sources. At each stage of the experiment there were three treatments with six replicates.  The results of this study indicated that the seeds coming from the Ipi 1 source grew well under the viability and vigor tests, and it had the highest vigor.  Keyword : Mango, source of seed, viability, vigor.
