Abstract

Onion (Allium ascallonicum L.) is one of horticultural commodities that has high economic value and national priority to cultivate. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of shade plant and bioprotectant fertilizer (compost + Trichoderma sp.) to control  tuber root disease (Fusarium oxysporum) on onion crop. This study used Split plot design, which consists of: (1) shade treatment as the main plot namely: without (A1) and with (A2) shade plants, (2) application of bioprotectant fertilizer (compost + Trichoderma sp.) as the subplot namely: without fertilizer (B0),  fertilizer 1 kg/plot (B1), 2 kg/plot (B2), and 3 kg/plot (B3). The results showed that application of shade and fertilizer bioprotectant 3 kg/plot (B3) produced the lowest of tuber rot disease infestation of and the highest levels of onion yield.

Abstract

Penyakit darah yang disebabkan oleh BDB  (Blood Disease Bacterium) merupakan salah satu penyakit penting pada pisang di Indonesia. Bakteri endofit melakukan kolonisasi pada relung ekologi yang sama dengan patogen tanaman. Bakteri endofit berpotensi sebagai  agensi pengendalian hayati, sebab bakteri endofit dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman dan dapat menginduksi ketahanan tanaman terhadap patogen tanaman.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bakteri endofit sebagai agens pengendalian hayati terhadap penyakit darah pada tanaman pisang secara in-vitro.Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan (HPT) Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Tadulako, Sulawesi Tengah Palu.Penelitian berlangsung pada bulan Juni sampai Desember 2013. Bakteri endofit diisolasi dari perakaran  tanaman pisang yang sehat diantara tanaman yang terserang BDB. Hasil isolasi kemudian diseleksi dan diuji antagonisme dengan isolat BDB secara in-vitro . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, didapatkan dua koloni isolat yang berhasil diisolasi dari akar tanaman pisang yang diseleksi berdasarkan ciri morfologi, uji KOH, dan uji hipersensitif yaitu koloni isolat BEA1 dan BEA2 dengan kerapatan populasi 5,8x105 cfu/ml. Koloni isolat bakteri endofit BEA1 20,7%  memiliki kemampuan daya hambat lebih efektif dan berbeda nyata dalam menekan patogen BDB dibandingkan koloni isolat bakteri endofit BEA2 12 % secara in-vitro.

Abstract

Padi (Oryza sativa L.) merupakan komoditas tanaman pangan yang memegang peranan penting dalam kehidupan ekonomi indonesia. Kamba merupakan salah satu padi lokal dan koleksi plasma nutfah yang dimiliki Sulawesi Tengah yang bersifat unggul berasal dari dataran Lore. Berasnya memiliki rasa yang pulen, warna yang putih bersih, aroma yang khas, dan memiliki daya simpan yang baik.Penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi karakter kulitatif dan kuantitatif morfologi genotip padi lokal kamba asal dataran lore. Penelitian ini menggunakaan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan enam perlakuan genotip padi yaitu kamba, kamba kolori, kamba bulili, kamba wuasa, kamba emas, kamba mete. Setiap perlakuan di ulang sebanyak tiga kali sehingga menghasilkan 18 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian dari ke enam geotip padikamba menunjukan adanya tingkat keragaman pada bentuk morfologi bulu daun, warna gabah, warna ujung gabah, bentuk gabah, ekor gabah dan tipe endosperm (beras).

Abstract

Penyakit antraknosa disebabkan oleh jamur Colletotrichum capsici. Tanaman yang terserang antraknosa memperlihatkan gejala mati pucuk yang berlanjut ke bagian bawah tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan antagonisme Verticillium sp. terhadap jamur patogen C. capsici penyebab penyakit antraknosa pada tanaman cabai. Penelitian di lakukan pada bulan Juni sampai September 2013. Media yang digunakan untuk isolasi jamur adalah Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA). Jamur C. capsici dan Verticillium sp. disolasi kemudian dimurnikan dan diperbanyak, lalu jamur tersebut diuji antagoniskan menggunakan metode dual culture. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa morfologi koloni jamur C. capsici yang telah diisolasi dan dimurnikan pada media PDA memiliki warna coklat muda kemudian pada bagian tengahnya berwarna kehitaman, sedangkan  koloni jamur Verticillium sp. pertumbuhan awal hifanya berwarna putih kemudian berubah menjadi warna putih pucat. Verticillium sp. memiliki kemampuan berkembang lebih cepat dibandingkan  C. capsici dimana Verticillium sp. hanya membutuhkan waktu 7 hari sudah hampir menutupi seluruh permukaan cawan dengan persentase pertumbuhan yang paling tinggi mencapai 41.5% sedangkan persentase pertumbuhan C. capsici yang paling tinggi pada hari ke 7 mencapai 39.0% sehingga masing-masing pertumbuhan Verticillium sp. dan C. capsici menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan yang paling cepat yaitu verticillium sp. mampu menghambat pertumbuhan C. capsici.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kemampuan antagonis Trichoderma sp. dalam mengendalikan Oncobasidium theobromae penyebab penyakit VSD  (Vascular Streak dieback)  pada tanaman kakao. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Hama dan  Penyakit Tumbuhan Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Tadulako, Pada bulan  Oktober - Desember 2013. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak 6 kali sehingga terdapat 18 unit percobaan.  Pada perlakuan ini digunakan 3 isolat Trichoderma sp. yaitu,isolat Astra A, Isolat Astra B berasal dari PT Astra dan isolat Untad dari laboratorium Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Tadulako.  Variabel yangdiamati adalah pertumbuhan koloni jamur O. theobromae dan Trichoderma sp., setiap 2 hari selama 8 hari. Pengukuran dilakukan terhadap: a. Jari-jari koloni O. theobromae yang tumbuh menjauhi Trichoderma sp (R1) dan yang mendekati jamur Trichoderma sp. (R2). b. Daya hambat jamur Trichoderma sp. Data yang diperoleh jari-jari hifa O.theobromae tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan Trichoderma.sp. Daya hambat  ketiga  spesies Trichoderma menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata selanjutnya dianalisis dengan Uji  BNJ. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan jamur Trichoderma isolat Untad lebih efektif untuk menekan pertumbuhan O.theobromae dengan persentase 85,78% disusul Trichoderma isolat Astra A dan Isolat Astra B dengan persentase 45,66% dan 30,58%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the intensity of the disease Vascular Streak Dieback (VSD) in some cocoa clones in the village of the District III Sidondo Sigi Biromaru. This study was conducted in cocoa plantations in the village of the District III Sidondo Sigi Biromaru 01 ° 06 01.9 "latitude and 199 ° 54 56,0 BT 61 M above sea level. The study took place in the third week of February 2015 until the second week of April 2015. In this study used six types of clones observed that cocoa Local, S2 clone, M01 clone, Phanter clone, ICCRI 1 clone and Irian  clone. This study used survey methods and in the determination of the observation plots using Priposive Sampling method in which each set of 15 plants cocoa clones to be observed. Based on observations VSD disease in cacao plantations in the village of Sidondo III shows that the six types of cocoa clones observed have experienced any symptoms of infection VSD. From the intensity calculation data VSD disease attacks on each clone kakaodi Sidondo village III shows the percentages of different clones S2 is on average 3.53%, 4.02% Irian clones, ICCRI 1 4.43%, 4.575 M01 clones, clones Phanter 4.65% and 15.16% local cocoa. Based on the results of the calculation of the rate of fungus infection O. theobromae on cocoa clones 6 In the village Sidondo III shows the rate of infection is quite low at Cocoa Locale 0, 1307 cm², S2 0, 2195 cm², M01 0, 2207 cm², Phanter 0, 1652 cm², ICCRI 1 0, 1 348 cm² and Irian 0, 2887 cm².

Abstract

Stem rot in oil palm crops caused by fungal infections Ganoderma boninense which is an important disease that attacks the oil palm plantations. This study aims to determine how the provision of Trichoderma spp. and the amount of inoculum best in suppressing the growth of Ganoderma boninense on palm midrib media. The research was conducted in the laboratory of fitopathology Unit of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu. This study was prepared using completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors. The first factor is the way the provision of Trichoderma spp. The second factor is the amount of inoculum repeated 4 times. The data were followed by HSD test at 5%. The results showed that of the statistical analysis are interactions between granting Trichoderma spp. and the amount of inoculum in suppressing the growth of G. boninense on palm midrib media. Where is the best interaction contained in the application Trichoderma spp. before inoculation G. boninense with a concentration of 8 g. Applications Trichoderma spp. led to the emergence of different basidiokarp, basidiokarp emergence longest time in the application of Trichoderma spp. with a concentration of 8 g ie 35.00 days, but not different with other applications, but in contrast to controls. Key Words : Concentration, G. boninense Pat., palm midrib media, Trichoderma spp.

Abstract

The research aiming at identifying morphology and anatomy of (Citrus sp.) at Hangira Village and Baleura Village of Central Lore Sub-District of Poso Regency was conducted in September until November 2015 and the observation of anatomy was held at Pest and Plant Disease Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture of Tadulako University. The researcher used descriptive method with direct survey in location of research. The determination of the location was based on the information and survey having been done at Hangira Village and Baleura Village of Central Lore Sub-District of Poso Regency. The observation was done based on morphological character of form and colourof the stem, form of branching, canopy, canopy’s diameter, stem’s surface, edge and tip of the leaves, leaf symetry, flush colour, upper and lower surfaces of leaves, flesh of leaf, leaf size, colour of leaf stalk, form of stalk, and length of stalk. The anatomical character of the leaf consists of stomatal density and index. The analysis was then continued by using cluster analysis of SYSTAT 8.0software program. Key Words: Anatomy, Citrus, morphological character.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to determine the potential of the Aspergillus sp. Palolo local isolates on the insects of Helopeltis spp.. The results of laboratory tests were used for in the field experiment, in order to know the influence of the concentration and the intensity of insect Helopeltis spp. The results of this study are expected to be used as an alternative for researchers to use entomopathogenic fungi Aspergillus sp. This research was conducted in two places, namely to research conducted phase one preliminary test performed in the laboratory of pests and plant diseases and for stage two test field, which is housed in cocoa production centers in Palolo Sigi. This study commenced from the month of May 2015 to July 2015. On the stage by looking at the concentration of the fungus Aspergillus sp. Effective in the mortality pest Helopeltis spp. In stage two were done in the field (cocoa plantations) is a continuation of research on the preliminary test effective concentration that causes mortality in test insects. The results showed that the use of a preliminary test at a concentration of 10-3, 10-5, 10-7 and 10-9 were used in the efektivity Helopeltis spp pest mortality rate is 10-5 cfu. The number of pest population concentration Helopeltis spp.. after the Aspergillus sp applied from week to week was decreased. Key Words: Aspergillus sp., intensity of  severity, pest population.

Abstract

Vascular streak dieback disease caused by the fungus Oncobasidium theobremae is one of the important diseases of the cocoa crop. Galangal potential as a botanical pesticides that have various properties of them as anti-fungal and antibacterial. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of ginger rhizome extract in suppressing the activity of growing fungus O. theobremae. Implementation of the study began in August 2015 to February 2016 is located in the Laboratory of Plant Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture unit UNTAD sampling sites Salubomba disease in the village, District of South Banawa, Donggala, Central Sulawesi. This study uses galangal rhizome extract mixed with a concentration of 0.25%, 0.50% and 0.75% into the PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar). The results of the study during the week of observation showed that the highest concentration (0.75%) were able to inhibit the development of fungus O. theobremae with a percentage of 38.77%. Key Words : Ginger extract , concentration, Cocoa, and O. theobremae.Â
