Abstract

Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Mengetahui Pendekatan saintifik setting discovery learning lebih efektif daripada Pendekatan problem Solving setting discovery learning dalam pembelajaran matematika materi lingkaran pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur dan sampel terdiri dari tiga kelas yakni kelas eksperimen I  diajarkan menggunakan pendekatan saintifik setting discovery learning, kelas eksperimen II diajarkan menggunakan Pendekatan problem Solving setting discovery learning, dan kelas eksprimen III diajarkan menggunakan Pendekatan open ended setting discovery learning  yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri data atas prestasi belajar siswa, data aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran, dan data respons siswa terhadap perangkat dan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) keterlaksanaan Pembelajaran dengan Pendekatan saintifik, Pendekatan Problem Solving, dan pendekatan Open Ended setting discovery learning dalam materi lingkaran terlaksana dengan baik. (2) penerapan Pendekatan saintifik, Pendekatan Problem Solving, dan pendekatan Open Ended setting discovery learning dalam pembelajaran matematika materi lingkaran pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur efektif ditinjau dari aspek: (a) prestasi belajar siswa; (b) aktivitas belajar siswa; dan (c) respons siswa. Hasil uji hipotesis pada taraf siginifikan  dengan uji-t menunjukan Pendekatan saintifik setting discovery learning lebih efektif dari pada Pendekatan Problem Solving dan pendekatan Open Ended setting discovery learning materi lingkaran pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Timur. Kata Kunci: Penerapan Pendekatan Saintifik setting Discovery Learning dalam Pembelajaran

Abstract

The study aimed at discovering the use of animation media on Mathematics learning at Islamic School (MTs.) Paitana Jeneponto which covered the description on students’ activities, students’ responses, and the improvement of learning outcomes. The type of the study was quantitative research, with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population were students of grade VII at MTs. Paitana. The sample of the study were 24 students, selected randomly with assumption that all of the classes of grade VII were homogen in terms of learnin outcomes as the experiment class. Data were collected by using observation sheets of students’ activities, students’ responses, and the test of learning outcomes. Requirement test for analysis used test of normality. Data were analyzed by employing one sample t-test technique. The result of the study revealed that (1) the impact of the use of animation media toward students’ activities are described as follows: in general, students tend to pay attention on the animation media without other irrelevant activities of the lesson and the students’ activities overall was in ideal category; (2) students give positive responses on learning proved more than 80% or all of the questions received positive responses to more than 50% students; (3) the mean score of students’ pretest was 28.79 with the standard of deviation 10.118 from each of the ideal score 100. The gain score was 0.71 from learning outcomes data which was categorized as high, data were distributed normally with the level of significance 0.269 for normalized gain data. By the t-test, the significance value obtained 0.000 meaning that there was improvement on students’ learning outcomes in studying Mathematics after the students taught by employing direct learning model using animation media. The final test indicated as well that 22 out of 24 students (91.67%) achieved the KKM score on Mathematics learning at MTs. Paitana.

Abstract

Metacognition, or the ability to think about thinking, is essential in the development of geometric thinking. However, studies on the Van Hiele model and the application of metacognition on geometric thinking are still under-researched. This study aimed to provide a review of the Van Hiele model and the application of metacognition on geometric thinking. A total of 844 articles were retrieved through internet search engines from 1995 to 2020 and manually selected and reviewed systematically. The keywords used related to the Van Hiele model, metacognition, and geometric thinking. The findings that emerged from the review were categorized into two main themes which were the effectiveness of the Van Hiele model towards geometric thinking and the effectiveness of the application of metacognition on geometric thinking. Most articles revealed the positive indication of the geometric thinking development through the Van Hiele model intervention. It also seems that the potential of the application of metacognition in the Van Hiele model can strengthen geometric thinking development. Researchers and educators may find this knowledge useful in conducting empirical studies and developing learning instructions based on the application of metacognition in the development of geometric thinking.

Abstract

Self Organizing Map (SOM) is one of the topology forms of Unsupervised Neural Network where in the learning process does not require output target. Clusters in this research consist of one or more regency/city areas that have certain characteristics based on the variables. Each cluster had to be validated by using the Davies Bouldin Index value to get the best cluster formation from the SOM algorithm learning process. The best cluster model is the cluster model that has the smallest Davies Bouldin Index value. This research used 30 variables that refer to the key statistics of South Sulawesi Province People's Prosperity in 2018 by BPS of South Sulawesi Province. In this research, four cluster formation models were formed which began by forming 2 cluster model to form 5 cluster. Based on the Davies Bouldin Index value, it was found that the  5 cluster model have minimum value of 0.17.

Abstract

Paper ini mengemukakan hasil penelitian yang mengembangkan dan memvalidasi skala pengukuran kualitas layanan pendidikan tinggi, yang merupakan penjabaran dari tridarma perguruan tinggi. Berdasarkan adaptasi model Service Quality 5-dimensi sebagaimana dalam Parasuraman, Zeithaml dan Barry (1993), instrumen 16-butir kualitas layanan pengajaran (teacbqnal), 14-butir kualitas layanan penelitian (resqual), dan 11-butir kualitas layanan pengabdian masyarakat (p/tbqual) dibuat untuk menilai kualitas layanan pendidikan. Masing-masing istrumen menggambarkan sikap dan perilaku mahasiswa mengenai kinerja layanan perguruan tinggi. Instrumen tersebut menilai kualitas secara fungsional (process) maupun teknikal (output-outcome). Tiga ratus sebelas mahasiswa program sarjana tahun terakhir sebagai responden intsrumen. Unidimensional, reliabilitas, validitas isi, validitas terkait-kriterion, validitas konvergen, validitas diskriminan, dan validitas nomologikal diperiksa dengan menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling. Instrumen KLTPT telah dikembangkan dan berpotensi aplikasi untuk ekplorasi bagi para praktisi dan peneliti. Kata kunci: pengukuran kualitas layanan tridharma perguruan tinggi

Abstract

The objective of the study accordingly is to develop and verify the relationships model among various factors related to students’ satisfaction and loyalty and their status as effective participating partners of their educational institutions (Partnert-Participant), as well as the impact of these students’ attitudes and perceptions on the outcomes level of undergraduate program in a higher education. The relationship between the perceived quality of educational service as well as the price and the students’ satisfaction and loyalty are empiricall tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The result of the study supports the proposed applicative model which describes the attitudes and perception of the students both as consumers and as co-producer of the educational services in relation to their satisfaction and loyalty. The model concludes that the more positive the attitudes and the perceptions of the students to the educational process, the more satisfied and loyal the students will be, the better performance of higher education as the outcome in a long time perspective. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan memverifikasi model hubungan antara berbagai faktor yang terkait dengan kepuasan dan loyalitas mahasiswa, termasuk kedudukannya sebagai mitra partisipan efektif dari pendidikannya sendiri, sekaligus melihat dampak sikap dan persepsinya pada tataran hasil (outcome) dalam institusi pendidikan tinggi. Hubungan kualitas jasa pendidikan dan biaya jasa yang dialami dengan kepuasan dan loyalitas mahasiswa diuji secara empirik dengan menggunakan Model Persamaan Struktural (Structural Equation Modeling atau SEM). Hasil penelitian memberikan dukungan terhadap usulan model aplikatif yang menggambarkan sikap dan perilaku mahasiswa baik sebagai konsumen maupun mitra-partisipan terhadap layanan jasa pendidikan tinggi dalam memprediksi kepuasan dan loyalitas mahasiswa. Melalui model tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa makin berkualitas layanan jasa yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa menurut persepsi dan keterlibatannya akan semakin puas dan loyal mahasiswa tersebut dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan; atau ekuivalen bahwa makin positif sikap dan perilaku mahasiswa terhadap penyelenggaraan pendidikan, akan semakin puas dan loyal mahasiswa tersebut, dan tentu saja berakibat akan semakin baik kinerja pendidikan tinggi ke depan dalam perspektif jangka panjang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa terkait dengan bilangan bulat, operasi dan sifat-sifatnya, dan 2) faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan miskonsepsi-miskonsepsi tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 38 siswa sebagai subjek penelitian yang kemudian diseleksi dengan tes uraian untuk menentukan siswa mana yang mengalami miskonsepsi. Selanjutnya, setelah terpilih beberapa siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi berbeda-beda, peneliti melakukan wawancara untuk menelusuri faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya miskonsepsi yang ada. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Miskonsepsi yang dialami subjek penelitian dalam menyelesaikan soal bilangan bulat, operasi dan sifat-sifatnnya adalah dalam: a) membandingkan nilai bilangan bulat, b) penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat, c) perkalian dan pembagian bilangan bulat, d) operasi campuran, e) menyederhanakan persamaan linear satu variabel, dan f) memahami sifat distributif. (2) Penyebab miskonsepsi ini adalah: a) kecenderungan siswa yang mengartikan bilangan yang bernilai lebih besar akan berada lebih jauh dari nol, b) kesalahpahaman dalam memahami aturan “bilangan negatif dikali bilangan negatif hasilnya bilangan positif”, c) kesalahpahaman dalam memahami fungsi tanda negatif, d) kecenderungan siswa yang menyamakan operasi pembagian sebagai pengurangan atau operasi operasi penjumlahan sebagai perkalian, d) kesalahpahaman dalam mengaplikasikan sifat komutatif, dan e) kesalahan dalam memahami aturan distributif, dimana siswa mengalikan semua bilangan yang ada tanpa memperhatikan letak tanda kurung.

Abstract

The study aims at discovering the description of problem-solving skills of students in Math based on spatial intelligence in grade VIII at SMPN 3 Pallangga. This type of study is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were 6 students who were divided into 3 groups, namely 2 subjects with high spatial skills, 2 subjects with moderate spatial skills, and 2 subjects with low spatial skills in grade VIIIC at SMPN 3 Pallangga. The research instruments were the researcher herself as the main instrument and a test of spatial intelligence, the test of problem-solving skills, a guided interview, and a validation sheet as the supporting instruments. The data collecting method employed a written test and interview. The data analysis was conducted by employing data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The data validity employed a source triangulation. Through the qualitative data analysis, the researcher discovered that the Math problem-solving skills of students with high spatial intelligence understood the problem by using spatial visualization skills, spatial perception, and mental rotation, as well as able to solve the problem by fulfilling Polya's four steps correctly. The Math problem-solving skills of students with moderate spatial intelligence understood the problems by using spatial visualization skills and spatial perception and were able to solve the problem by fulfilling Polya's two steps only, as well as being unable to plan the solution and rechecking. The Math problem-solving skills of students with low spatial intelligence still have difficulties using their spatial skills so they are unable to solve the problem given correctly.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara hasil belajar matematika dan tingkat kecerdasan siswa. Pengambilan subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP di Makassar. Pengambilan subjek dilakukan dengan memberikan tes kepada siswa kelas VIII 5 yang kemudian dari hasil tersebut dipilih 3 subjek penelitian berdasarkan kategori yang ada. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar dengan pokok bahasan statistika yang memuat 5 butir soal dan tes IQ yang memuat 38 soal. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa pada siswa kelas VIII 5 terdapat pengaruh secara signifikan terhadap hasil belajar dan kecerdasan intelegensi siswa sehingga memperoleh hasil yang beragam. Terdapat juga satu siswa yang IQnya tinggi tapi hasil belajarnya rendah. Kata Kunci: mix methods, Kecerdasan Intelegensi, hasil belajar This study aims to determine the relationship between mathematics learning outcomes and student intelligence levels. The subjects of this study were VIII grade students in one of the junior high schools in Makassar. Taking the subject by giving a test to students of class VIII 5 then from the results, selected 3 subjects based on existing categories. The instrument used was a learning achievement test containing 5 questions and an IQ test containing 38 questions. The results of the research showed that the VIII grade students had a significant influence on student learning outcomes and Intelligence Quotient so it obtains diverse results. There is also one student who has a high IQ but low learning outcomes. Keywords: mix-methods, intelligence quotient, learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu (Quasi Experiment) yang melibatkan dua kelompok yang diberi perlakuan yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi belajar matematika siswa pada penerapan model pembelajaran konvensional dan model pembelajaran Hypnoteaching pada siswa kelas X. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X di SMAN di Kota Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan dan dipilih dua sekolah serta dua kelas eksperimen secara cluster random sebagai sampel penelitian. Data dianalisis dengan statistika deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan motivasi belajar matematika yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Hypnoteaching lebih besar dibanding motivasi belajar matematika yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional.Kata Kunci: Motivasi Belajar, HypnoteachingAbstract. This research is a quasi experiment which involved two groups with different treatment. Objectives of this research were to know the students’ mathematics learning motivation between the application of conventional and hypnoteaching learning models on students grade X. The population in this research is students grade X  in State Senior High School in Makassar, South Sulawesi and then  two schools  and  two classes are selected by cluster  random technique as research sample. Data analysis by using descriptive and inferential statistics.  The result was obtained the improving of mathematics learning motivation on students who taught by using hypnoteaching learning model is greater than the improving of mathematics learning motivation on students who taught by using conventional learning model.Keywords: Learning Motivation, Hypnoteaching.
