China had roughly ** million more buy now, pay later users in 2022 than the United States, and nearly ** million users more than Brazil. This is according to a model that tried to estimate the number of BNPL and flexible credit users across multiple countries in the world. Whilst it may not be surprising that some of the world's most populous countries also have the highest number of BNPL users, it should be noted that the penetration of buy now, pay later is different between the countries. Germany, for instance, is estimated to have **** million BNPL users in this statistic. This would equal roughly ** percent of Germany's population. For China, the **** million users listed here would be approximately four percent of that country's population.
