The figures have been gathered by Statista from several publications, for more information see the "Details" tab.
Supplementary notes
The figures provided come from various reports, and refer exclusively to the share of "buy now, pay later" (or e-invoices for 2016) in overall e-commerce payment methods used. Note the following, however:
- The source does not explicitly state whether the share is based on number of transactions or the value of transactions. Due to word use in the overall report (e.g. "spend" or "market size"), it seems to be based on value.
- Figures for 2017 were available, but were too different from the other iterations and have therefore been excluded. There was no report for 2018.
- The source rounded all the figures and did not provide specifics. Possibly, some countries with a market share between 0 and 0.5 percent were rounded down - and excluded from an entry.
