Buy now, pay later (BNPL) was commonly used in the U.S. for *** product group in particular, with a penetration rate that was more than double than any other product type. Fashion already was a popular product for buy now, pay later in March 2020 but this had grown significantly by September 2020 - with over ** percent of U.S. BNPL adopters having used this payment method to purchase clothes specifically. The source mentions this is a sign of how easy it is for the financing solution to shift according to market demands. In March 2020 - around the time when the United States went into home office due to COVID-19 - BNPL was popular for consumer electronics. Six months later, however, this had changed.
