The final phase of a multi-stage comprehensive assessment of UC Digital Library’s Digital Preservation Plan including a Digital Asset Assessment and Digital Preservation Policy review, synthesizing institutional strategies into actionable recommendations, using the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) framework .

The aim of this article is to show the main discussions of my work on Elopement and some kinds of kinship in a community in the city of Florianópolis, Santa Catarina state. The core of this work is the Elopement, a form of consensual union that allows marriage between relatives. Notions of kinship and family are also discussed, as well as the experience with MaqPar (acronym for machine kinship) and other computer programs which enabled new insights into this field. Among the perceptions about relationships, substance and coexistence issues are interwoven with the elopement and empirical networks.

El estudio de la interrelación entre los contenidos de la preparación y las condiciones que debe poseer el judoka para la ejecución de los combates en la etapa de iniciación, propician la aplicación de metodologías eficientes para la enseñanza del Judo en correspondencia con las exigencias del enfrentamiento deportivo.

Increasingly, patients without clinical indications are undergoing genomic tests. The purpose of this study was to assess their appreciation and comprehension of their test results and their clinicians’ reactions. We conducted 675 surveys with participants from the Vanderbilt Electronic Medical Records and Genomics (eMERGE) cohort. We interviewed 36 participants: 19 had received positive results, and 17 were self-identified racial minorities. Eleven clinicians who had patients who had participated in eMERGE were interviewed. A further 21 of these clinicians completed surveys. Participants spontaneously admitted to understanding little or none of the information returned to them from the eMERGE study. However, they simultaneously said that they generally found testing to be “helpful,” even when it did not inform their health care. Background In medical oncology settings, early specialist palliative care interventions have demonstrated improvements in patient quality of life and survival compared with usual oncologic care. However, the effect of early specialist palliative care interventions in surgical oncology settings is not well studied. Methods The Surgery for Cancer with Option for Palliative Care Expert (SCOPE) Trial is a single-center, prospective, single-blind, randomized controlled trial of a specialist palliative care intervention for cancer patients undergoing non-palliative surgery. It will enroll 236 patients scheduled for major abdominal operations for malignancy, who will be randomized 1:1 at enrollment to receive usual care (control arm) or specialist palliative care consultation (intervention arm). Background Although greater attention is currently being paid to participants in research, no studies have dealt so far with the issue of returning aggregate psychosocial results to cohort participants. Objective (i) To explore participants' views about disclosure of the aggregate results of a French national psychosocial cohort survey on the epidemiology of preventive behaviour in women from families with a hereditary breast cancer risk. (ii) To assess whether it is worth consulting participants before designing the disclosure process. Design A qualitative study using semi-structured face-to-face interviews and a thematic analysis based on Grounded Theory methods.

La detección de talentos deportivos para el atletismo correspondiente a un rango etario promedio entre los 10 y 11 años (ambos sexos) se basa en el rendimiento físico obtenido mediante pruebas de valoración del rendimiento deportivo establecidas en la literatura. Delimitar indicadores físicos y médico-biológicos permite gestionar eficientemente el proceso de dirección del entrenamiento deportivo. Objetivo: Determinar el comportamiento físico y biomédico de los estudiantes de perspectivas deportivas, con el propósito de identificar talentos deportivos para la práctica del atletismo. Métodos: Bajo un muestreo intencional se seleccionó a 26 alumnos de perspectivas deportivas entre 11-12 años (12 sujetos del sexo femenino y 14 sujetos del masculino) entrenados en la Escuela "Obdulio Morales Torres", aplicándole ocho pruebas físicas y biomédicas para determinar sus potencialidades reales para la selección deportiva del atletismo cubano. Resultados: Se establecieron medias colectivas que para el sexo femenino se ubicaron en 37,08 puntos (Rendimiento "Bien"), y el masculino en 33,29 (Rendimiento "Regular"). Al menos 12 sujetos (talentos deportivos) de ambos sexos presentaron indicadores altos a tener en cuenta para la selección deportiva en diversas modalidades del atletismo, 9 se calificaron como reserva deportiva y 5 sin condiciones. We examined the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process at 9 academic institutions in the electronic Medical Records and Genomics (eMERGE) Network, for proposed electronic health record-based genomic medicine studies, to identify common questions and concerns. Sequencing of 109 disease related genes and genotyping of 14 actionable variants is being performed in ~28,100 participants from the 9 sites. Pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants in actionable genes are being returned to study participants. We examined each site's research protocols, informed-consent materials, and interactions with IRB staff. Research staff at each site completed questionnaires regarding their IRB interactions. The time to prepare protocols for IRB submission, number of revisions and time to approval ranged from 10-261 days, 0-11, and 11-90 days, respectively. The work aims to guide the Olympic Wrestling coaches in the special force planning process in school wrestlers. This sport is strategic in Cuba for its results in multidisciplinary events, hence its Provincial Commission in Villa Clara prioritizes the attention of planning your training as one of the functions of the management at different competitive levels. The above has been verified through observation methods, surveys and interviews conducted systematically to trainers, aimed at the specific work of force planning as a complement to physical training; To this are added the changes of the International Regulation in recent years, which has brought changes in the planning processes. The subject although treated in the specialized bibliography has not had its repercussion in the planning of the special force, for which reason it is necessary to direct investigations directed to the solution of the problem due to its determining role in performance.

RESUMEN: se ha realizado una revisión bibliométrica sobre los trabajos que han abordado las estrategias cognitivas específicamente orientados a los deportes individuales y de adversario. Los resultados obtenidos reflejan que los deportes individuales se han beneficiado en mayor medida de investigaciones en este ámbito que los deportes de adversario. La estrategia más referida en los trabajos revisados es la atención/concentración. Además, se ha encontrado una diferencia notable en relación a la estrategia de relajación en ambos tipos de deportes, cuyo porcentaje es bastante inferior a los ofrecidos por otras revisiones análogas llevadas a cabo por otros autores.

Esta investigación analizó las fuentes de formación utilizadas y necesidad de conocimiento de los entrenadores de rugby españoles en la región andaluza en España. Los participantes fueron 256 entrenadores de diferentes equipos de la región mencionada. Los datos se recolectaron mediante el uso de un cuestionario validado que analizaba aspectos relacionados con la formación permanente. Los resultados indicaron que los entrenadores de Andalucía utilizan métodos de adquisición de conocimiento informal más que formal y no formal. Las fuentes de conocimiento más utilizadas fueron el intercambio de conocimiento con otros profesionales. This article intends to elaborate some points related to the use of
the genealogical method and the return of genealogies to the interlocutors in Brazil. The idea of “return” or result disclosure is related to the requests and negotiations between the groups or individuals and the ethnographer.

Increasingly, patients without clinical indications are undergoing genomic tests. The purpose of this study was to assess their appreciation and comprehension of their test results and their clinicians' reactions. We conducted 675 surveys with participants from the Vanderbilt Electronic Medical Records and Genomics (eMERGE) cohort. We interviewed 36 participants: 19 had received positive results, and 17 were self-identified racial minorities. Eleven clinicians who had patients who had participated in eMERGE were interviewed. A further 21 of these clinicians completed surveys. Participants spontaneously admitted to understanding little or none of the information returned to them from the eMERGE study. However, they simultaneously said that they generally found testing to be "helpful," even when it did not inform their health care. Primary care physicians expressed discomfort in being asked to interpret the results for their patients and described it as an undue burden. Providing genetic testing to otherwise healthy patients raises a number of ethical issues that warrant serious consideration. Although our participants were enthusiastic about enrolling and receiving their results, they express a limited understanding of what the results mean for their health care. This fact, coupled the clinicians' concern, urges greater caution when educating and enrolling participants in clinically non-indicated testing.

The structure analysis of competitive activity in sport is one of the most important factors for determining the performance substantially, sports. Purpose: To examine the use of performance indicators in the performance analysis struggling. Method: A systematic review was made literature on the subject. All items were extracted using the existing electronic data bases in the virtual library University of Carabobo. Once the selection of antecedents were considered those who were original reports and they were related to the topic under study, and that they have been published in the last five years. Results. A total of 35 references. They were obtained from the different databases and free access seekers, 5 items were included for analysis and only 1 of these kept a close relationship with performance analysis specifically in the fight. Conclusions. The procedure for performance analysis used currently by experts and analysts coaches is notational analysis which allows a definition of useful performance indicators for examine the similarities and differences and establish vital comparisons widely used in the analysis of performance in the fight.

In an academic research environment, scholarly communications become central part of the process of deliberations. Scholars across the world are now better equipped with services offered by open access knowledge repositories for self-archiving their intellectual outcomes of scholarly research, i.e., research publications and research reports. Global open access statements enlighten academic researchers to make use of Green open access channels for harnessing global visibility, readability and cross-border knowledge transfer. Open access (OA) institutional repositories, national repositories or disciplinary knowledge repositories are considered as Green open access channels, where researchers have their freedom to share and distribute their research publications in digital formats. Besides, major OA declarations and statements, endorsed by the scientific institutions and communities, have identified Gold OA as major channel for scholarly communications. Public-funded research literatures are supposed to be made available through the Gold OA channel, in order to keep knowledge flow uninterruptedly across the world. Peer-reviewed OA journals belong to Gold OA channel. Thus, every academic researcher, after completing a research study, tries to identify possible publishing avenues for communicating research results. In this Unit, various authors’ tools for identifying different self-archiving avenues and their credentials are briefly discussed. This Unit also gives you a brief overview on workflow and submission process in self-archiving, and permission and licensing choices for disseminating research through Green open access channels. This Unit also gives you brief overview on paradigms of regional open access directories and journal gateways, and their strengths and weaknesses.
