Abstract

The application of innovative and interactive learning media can encourage students to be active in learning. However, in reality social studies learning is still teacher-centered. The teachers do not use innovative learning media, and are fixated on one source book that has been provided by the school. This study is to determine the effect of using cultural map media on student learning outcomes on the material diversity of the Indonesian nation. The study used a quasi-experimental research method using one experimental group. Therefore, the design used by the researcher is a one group pretest-posttest design. The results of the statistical test showed that the average posttest results of the students were higher than the students' average pretest, which was 83.77 > 76.33 with Sig = 0.000. Therefore, the application of cultural map learning media has an effect on improving student learning outcomes on the material diversity of the Indonesian nation

Abstract

Students should be trained to solve problems in mathematics so that they can do so in their studies also so that they can solve problems in their everyday lives, especially mathematical ones, with ease. This study aimed to learn how well students in grade five at SDN 26 in Rejang Lebong solved mathematical problems requiring higher-level critical thinking (HOTS). This study is an example of content analysis as a type of qualitative descriptive research. Students from Class 26 at VA SDN SDN in Rejang Lebong comprise the research sample. Testing members are used for data collection. The test questions are five multiple-choice HOTS problems. Research findings demonstrate students' varying abilities to solve arithmetic problems. The students have a good grasp of the issues from the perspective of problem understanding. Students aren't fully utilizing concepts and procedures while analyzing problems and developing solutions with mathematical tools, which is an issue with regard to problem-solving planning. Students have not fully written solutions to problems from both the planning and implementation perspectives, and from the perspective of looking back at previous solutions, they have not written those solutions down either.

Abstract

The objects around us have unique properties and characteristics. By understanding the properties of objects, we can properly study the natural phenomena that occur around us. Even though there are only three forms of matter, all three of them can experience changes in form in different ways. This study aims to assess how elementary school kids learn utilizing the Project Based Learning (PJBL) paradigm in the learning process of changing the shape of objects in elementary schools. The Independent Sample T-Test employed as a research approach in this study the results of the research show that each object has a different material in its composition. With different calculation since the value is more than 0.05 and there is no difference in the findings and Sig between the experimental class and the control class, it may be concluded that the data are not different. Differences in the constituent materials cause the properties and shape of objects to change due to heating, combustion, temperature changes, rust, and decay. The results of the study confirm that the use of the PJBL model in material changes in the shape of objects can raise the standard of instruction in the control and experimental classes and provide a more meaningful learning process for students.

Abstract

The curriculum in Indonesia has been developing from year to year, until now the curriculum applied is the independent curriculum that demands innovation in learning, including the use of teaching materials. In learning mathematics, the teaching materials used were less contextual and minimal in visualization until finally, comics were created as learning media. Characteristic comics can change material that is difficult to reach into material that is easily accessible, this happens because one of the comics is that it can visualize abstract material into something real. The purpose of this research is to make learning media in the form of comics which is further developed because it is based on local wisdom which is expected to be one of the media for learning mathematics for elementary school students. This study uses the Research and Development/ (RD) method, while the model used in this development is the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implement, Evaluation) model. The results of this study obtained very good validation with an Aiken value of 0.76 which indicates that the learning media is valid. And, obtaining a practicality test score of 77% which shows that the media is practical and ready to be tested by elementary school students.

Abstract

A low classification of fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Walahar’s outcomes and the limited utilization and application of diverse learning media in teaching and learning activities, particularly in scientific learning, served as the impetus for this study. This study aims to find the effectiveness of audio-visual-based media on student learning outcomes. With a one group pre-test and post-test design. 30 students in the fifth grade at SDN 2 Walahar made up the study's population. According to findings of the research, audio-visual learning materials are used by fifth graders at SDN 2 Walahar to improve their learning outcomes. This is demonstrated by the class V students at SDN 2 Walahar receiving an average score of 75.03 on the scientific portion of the pre test and an average score of 80.83 on the science portion of the post-test. The Paired Sample t-test showed a significant value of 0,000 in the research findings. The decision outcome of this study is that Ho is rejected while Ha is accepted because 0,000 is 0,005. The studying  findings support the idea that audio-visual learning materials can enhance fifth graders at SDN 2 Walahar's academic performance. This is demonstrated by the fact that, whereas grade V student learning outcomes tend to be acquired at a lower rate during the pre-test implementation phase than they do during the post-test phase, respectively.
