Abstract

The intercropping system is well-known for its extremely low risk of crop failure, its potential to overcome the risk of fluctuating product prices, and this system can save the production inputs. The study aims to compare the level of technical, allocative, and economic efficiency using the stochastic frontier production function model in the intercropping of cacao with annual crops with the pattern: cacao+coconut+patchouli; cacao+coconut+cashew; and cacao+coconut+banana. This research was conducted from March 2018 until April 2018 by determining the samples in the Kolaka Regency, which covered 17 sub-districts, taken from 3 sub-districts with purposive sampling. Each district was represented by 3 villages with purposive sampling. Each sub-district was represented by9 villages with total random samples of 270 respondents. The analysis used wasa technical, allocative, and economical efficiency analysis based on frontier analysis, with 270 respondents from 9 villages representing 3 sub-districts, using the random sampling method. The results discovered that the cacao intercropping farming system of cacao+coconut+patchouli had better technical, allocative, and economic efficiency values and was more feasible to cultivate compared to other patterns. The research results can be beneficial in developing cacao farmers’ performance relating to the annual intercropping crops. For academics, this research is expected to support the frontier production theory with the stochastic frontier efficiency model in cacao intercropping with annual crops.

Abstract

One of the biggest mangrove crab producing areas in Bone Regency is Cenrana District. The increase in the number of mangrove crab production in 2016 was the largest contribution of the Cenrana Subdistrict. However, as demand for mangrove crabs in Bone Regency continues to increase, the amount of production has not been able to meet the market demand for mangrove crabs even though their production has increased. This study aims to analyze the influence of production inputs (farmland, seeds, feed and labor) on the production of mangrove crabs. This research was conducted in Cenrana Subdistrict, Bone Regency, where the location was determined purposively. This research was conducted from February to March 2018. Respondents in this study were mangrove crab farmers who were selected using a sampling method of 92 people. The data analysis used is multiple regression analysis with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method, the model used is the Cobb-Douglas production function equation. The results showed that the increase in mangrove crab production was influenced by farmland factors (0,231), seeds (0,459), feed (0,155) and labor (0,238) and had a positive and significant effect on the production of mangrove crabs. Mangrove crab production will increase because there is a potential for increased production of mangrove crabs with the certainty of seed availability through improved mangrove habitat improvement, regulation of catching mangrove crab eggs laying eggs and environmental improvements due to pollution around the upper reaches of the Cenrana River Bone Regency.

Abstract

Land is one of the potential natural resources to be developed optimally to increase local revenue. Based on the availability of water, land is grouped into two major groups, which are wetland and dry land (upland). The use of dry land for agriculture is often ignored by policy makers. Problems in dry land management vary in each region, both technical and socio-economic aspects. However, with the right strategy and technology, these problems can be overcome. Efforts to manage dry land to increase food production face problems, including steep slopes, low soil fertility, and water shortages. These problems need to be overcome by applying the right technology. Dry land management technology is available, including management of soil fertility, soil conservation, land rehabilitation, and efficient management of water resources. The problem is the weak dissemination of innovative technology to farmers and the slow adoption of this technology. Utilization of dry land to increase food production requires appropriate planning and strategies.

Abstract

Pupuk organik cair adalah larutan dari hasil pembusukan bahan organik yang berasal dari sisa tanaman, limbah agroindustri, dan kotoran hewan yang memiliki kandungan lebih dari satu unsur hara. Pada dasarnya pupuk organik cair lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pupuk organik padat. Hal ini disebabkan penggunaan pupuk organik cair memiliki beberapa kelebihan yaitu pengaplikasiannya lebih mudah, unsur hara yang terdapat didalam pupuk cair mudah diserap tanaman, banyak mengandung mikroorganisme. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan teknik pengembangan masyarakat (community development) dengan bentuk kegiatan berupa penyuluhan, pelatihan, difusi ipteks dan pendampingan masyarakat. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah sejumlah anggota kelompok tani Desa Woise Kecamatan Lambai Kabupaten Kolaka Utara. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat sangat merespon, dengan rasa penasaran para petani, sangat semangat dalam menerima materi serta mampu membuat pupuk organik cair (POC). Dalam kegiatan ini petani dilatih membuat pupuk organik cair dari ekstrak dedaunan segar untuk dibuat menjadi pupuk organik cair (POC).

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine factors that affect the quality of paddy in Kasumeeto Village, Pakue District, North Kolaka Regency. Discriminant analysis was used as the analytical tool  with a sample of 30 respondents. The results was obtained which was to determine the effect of the use of seeds, irrigation and fertilizer on the quality of lowland rice in Kusemeeto Village, Pakue District, North Kolaka Regency, can be conclude that quality of rice can be increase with increase the usage of high quality seeds and increase the usage of fertilizer. Lowland paddy is a commodity that has very promising prospects, so from the results of this study it is recommended that rice farmers should intensify the use of seeds and fertilizers because they can affect the quality of the paddy cultivated.

Abstract

Banana is one of the agriculture that has bright prospects in both the domestic and export markets, but banana farmers do not understand the potential of this banana. Therefore, a system is needed so that farmers know about the banana prospects. In marketing, until now there are still some discussions about the marketing patterns used are still quite long from farmers to consumers, increasing marketing costs incurred, marketing large margins, the benefits of each marketing institution and marketing of banana assistance. It dramatically affects the marketing of bananas in Pinrang Regency. The purpose of this study was to analyze the marketing patterns of Kepok bananas in Pinrang Regency. Determination of the sample in a study involving banana farmers, collector traders, wholesalers and retailers using the snow-balling method, samples related to all that was questioned, with the sample calculation were 30 banana farmers and 7 traders. The analytical method uses descriptive qualitative (quantitative) and quantitative (margin calculation) analysis. The results of this study indicate that farmers market their banana through two marketing channels in Pinrang Regency. There are two marketing channels, 1st channel is Farmer to Consumer, 2nd channel is Farmer to Collector Trader then to Retailer Trader and ends in Consumer. The involved marketing institutions require costs to operate marketing functions such as loading costs, transportation costs, fees, consumption and so forth.

Abstract

Cabai (Capsicum annum L.) menjadi komoditi strategis yang secara berkelanjutan mempengaruhi inflasi karena merupakan bahan pangan yang dibutuhkan masyarakat Indonesia disamping komoditas pangan utama. Permasalah utama yang ada, yaitu karakteristik buah cabai yang mudah rusak dan petani belum mampu menerapkan sistem pascapanen yang baik sehingga susut hasil masih sangat tinggi diakibatkan pengetahuan yang terbatas. Wanita tani diharapkan memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam penanganan pascapanen cabai, pengolahan cabai menjadi cabai kering diharapkan akan meningkatkan nilai tambah demi meningkatkan harga jual produk agar dapat menjadi sumber penghasilan tambahan dan meningkatkan pendapatan rumah tangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui berapa besar nilai tambah cabai dan untuk mengetahui peran wanita tani dalam kegiatan usahatani dan pengolahan cabai. Metode penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis nilai tambah cabai digunakan perhitungan nilai tambah metode Hayami sedangkan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran wanita tani dalam melakukan proses pengolahan cabai di analisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Penentuan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara stratified random sampling dan snowball random sampling. Metode ini diterapkan dalam pengambilan data sekunder dan wawancara dengan narasumber yang kompeten sesuai dengan informasi yang dibutuhkan oleh peneliti. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 40 responden wanita tani di Desa Puudongi Kecamatan Polinggona Kabupaten Kolaka. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, menunjukkan bahwa nilai tambah cabai yaitu sebesar Rp 4.000/kg, yang artinya pendapatan petani meningkat dengan tambahan sebesar Rp 4.000/kg. Dan wanita tani mempunyai peran penting dalam kegiatan usahatani dan pengolahan cabai. Wanita tani ikut serta dalam kegiatan usahatani dan pengolahan cabai pada kegiatan yang ringan dan membutuhkan ketelatenan.

Abstract

Salah satu sentra produksi biji kakao Indonesia adalah Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara dengan nilai produksi sebesar 115.023 ton, dengan total nilai ekspor 1,5 miliar US$ pada tahun 2019. Nilai ekspor komoditas kakao ini pun masih tergolong cukup tinggi di masa pandemi Covid-19. Menurut data Trademap, nilai ekspor kakao Indonesia pada 2021 mencapai US$1,2 miliar, hanya turun 2,9% dari tahun sebelumnya. Permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam pengembangan kakao adalah mutu produk mаsih rendаh, pengembаngаn produk hulu dan hilir kаkаo belum optimal, serta kontinuitas pasokan kakao belum terpenuhi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan ekspor komoditi kakao dan mengukur tingkat daya saing kakao Sulawesi Tenggara di pasar Internasional. Metode analisis yang digunakan untuk melihat perkembangan ekspor komoditi kakao adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka (library research) dan menganalisis daya saing kakao Sulawesi Tenggara digunakan rumus Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah data deret waktu (time series) dari tahun 2011-2021. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, menunjukkan bahwa bahwa perkembangan ekspor komoditi kakao Indonesia pada tahun 2011-2021 mengalami fluktuasi dimana penurunan dan kenaikan terjadi selama 10 tahun terakhir sedangkan perkembangan kakao ekspor Sulawesi Tenggara dapat terlihat pada tahun 2015-2021 dengan mengalami peningkatan dan penurunan berfluktuatif. Sedangkan hasil analisis daya saing dengan menggunakan metode RCA yang dilakukan pada komoditas kakao di Sulawesi Tenggara selama periode 2011-2021 menunjukkan nilai RCA yang fluktuatif dengan rata-rata sebesar 4,8. Dengan nilai lebih dari 1 yang berarti bahwa komoditas kakao Sulawesi Tenggara memiliki daya saing yang kuat atau dapat dikatakan pula memiliki keunggulan yang komparatif.

Abstract

Konteks pemberdayaan masyarakat sangat sesuai diterapkan dalam situasi dimana masyarakat memerlukan pendampingan untuk memberdayakan dirinya sendiri. Kondisi ini menjadi salah satu pertimbangan dilaksanakannya KKN di Desa Woise meskipun dalam keadaan pandemi Covid-19. Desa Woise merupakan salah satu Desa yang termasuk ke dalam Kecamatan Lambai, Kabupaten Kolaka Utara. yang terdiri dari 3 Dusun. Masalah yang dihadapi masyarakat di Desa Woise yaitu memiliki jenis tanah yang berpasir dan masih banyak masyarakat yang tidak tahu cara memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan rumahnya, sehingga masyarakat di Desa tersebut tersebut perlu diberikan bimbingan cara memanfaatkan pekarangan rumah, agar dapat membantu perekonomian keluarga mereka dimasa pandemi Covid-19. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Desa Woise dengan beberapa tempat yang berbeda. Pemanfaatan pekarangan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 22 September 2021. Alat dan Bahan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah cangkul untuk membersihkan lahan pekarangan, polybag ukuran kecil untuk menyemai benih cabai, dan benih terong tanah dan pupuk kandang untuk media tanam, polybag ukuran besar untuk media tanam, dan rak besi sebagai tempat tanaman. Metode dan bentuk kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah penyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan tanaman sayuran dengan menggunakan polybag. Masyarakat di Desa Woise sangat senang karena mahasiswa KKN Tematik dari Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka melaksanakan program kerja pemanfaatan pekarangan rumah di Desa mereka. Dengan adanya program tersebut masyarakat menjadi tahu bagaimana cara memanfaatkan lahan atau pekarangan rumah menjadi efisien dan efektif. Capaian hasil kegiatan pelatihan tersebut diharapkan masyarakat Desa Woise dalam hal ini ibu-ibu rumah tangga dapat menanam segala jenis tanaman sayuran guna menopanang kebutuhan pangan keluarga. ABSTRACT The context of community empowerment is very suitable to be applied in situations where the community needs assistance to empower themselves. This condition is one of the considerations for implementing KKN in Woise Village despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Woise Village is one of the villages included in Lambai District, North Kolaka Regency. which consists of 3 hamlets. The problem faced by the people in Woise Village is that they have sandy soil types and there are still many people who do not know how to use their home yards, so the people in the village need to be given guidance on how to use their home yards, in order to help their family's economy during the Covid-19 pandemic. 19. This activity was carried out in Woise Village in several different places. Utilization of the yard will be carried out on September 22, 2021. The tools and materials used in this activity are hoes for cleaning the yard, small polybags for sowing chili seeds, and ground eggplant seeds and manure for planting media, large polybags for planting media, and iron shelves for plants. The methods and forms of activities carried out are counseling and training on the manufacture of vegetable crops using polybags. The people in Woise Village are very happy because the Thematic Community Service Program students from the Ninebelas November University Kolaka carry out a work program to utilize the yard of their house in their village. With this program, the community will know how to use land or yards to be efficient and effective. It is hoped that the results of the training activity will be for the Woise Village community, in this case housewives, to be able to plant all kinds of vegetable crops to support the family's food needs. Abstract

Kelompok wanita tani merupakan salah satu kelompok masyarakat yang memiliki potensi yang besar untuk diberdayakan. Terlebih kelompok wanita tani yang berada di daerah pedesaan dengan kawasan yang memiliki lahan pekarangan yang cukup luas. Lahan pekarangan dapat menjadi sumberdaya produksi yang jika dikelola dengan baik akan menjadi salah satu sumber penerimaan bagi wanita tani. Kelompok wanita tani di Desa Lamondape pada umumnya adalah ibu rumahtangga yang memiliki aktivitas bertani di lahan perkebunan atau sawah milik mereka. Jika tidak sedang berproduksi, mereka memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan dengan menanam tanaman hortikultura seperti sayur mayur. Pelatihan laporan keuangan usahatani sayur mayur diberikan kepada kelompok wanita tani agar mereka mampu mengelola keuangan usahatani sampingan dengan baik sehingga usahatani sayur mayur dari lahan pekarangan dapat menjadi sumber penghasilan alternatif bagi rumahtangga mereka. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa mereka sangat antusias dan adanya perubahan pola pikir dalam memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan sebagai sumber penerimaan alternatif mereka. Kata kunci: Keuangan, Laporan, Manajerial, Wanita, Tani. ABSTRACT Women farmer group is one of the community groups that has great potential to be empowered. Moreover, the group of women farmers who are in rural areas with areas that have a fairly large yard. Yards can be a production resource which, if managed properly, will be a source of income for women farmers. Women farmer in Lamondape village are generally housewives who have farming activities on their plantations or rice fields. If they are not in production, they use their yards by planting horticultural crops such as vegetables. Vegetable farming financial report training is given to women farmer group so that they are able to manage sideline farming finances well so that vegetable farming from their yards can be an alternative source of income for their households. The results of the service program show that they are very enthusiastic and there is a change in their mindset in utilizing their yard as an alternative source of income.
