Abstract

Pulau Banyak and Pulau Banyak Barat Districts. play an active role in advancing capture fisheries production, this can be seen from the larger number and size of vessels operated so as to produce larger capture fisheries production. To land and sell their catch, many private entrepreneurs do it in their private holdings, not in government-owned fishing ports. This Tangkahan generally has relatively little land and facilities, but the activities and production are relatively large. This study aims to analyze the catch landed on the Tangkahans of Banyak Island, Aceh Singkil and make a map of the location of the Tangkahans in Pulau Banyak, Aceh Singkil. The method used is in 2 stages, the first stage is conducting a field survey using interview questionnaires, and the second stage is collecting field data (coordinate points of Tangkahan, types of catches and aerial photos of Tangkahan Island many). The location of the research is on Banyak Island, Aceh Singkil. The results of the study showed that there were 12 Tangkahans in Pulawa many, of which 8 units were in Baguk Village and 4 units were in Balai Desai. The catches that landed consisted of Squid, Dencis Fish, Tuna, Coral Anchovy and others. This is because the fishing gear used by Pulau Banyak fishermen is dominated by Bagan.

Abstract

Upaya penangkapan yang dilakukan oleh nelayan dengan jenis alat tangkap bubu masih berlangsung hingga sekarang dimana usaha ini dapat dijadikan sebagai suatu sumber pendapatan. Informasi ilmiah tentang keanekaragaman, dominansi dan komposisi hasil tangkapan bubu di Pulau Putri masih kurang tersedia. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian komposisi hasil tangkapan dengan membandingkan komposisi jumlah dan bobot hasil tangkapan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konstruksi umum bubu dan  menganalisis komposisi hasil tangkapan. Penelitian komposisi hasil tangkapan bubu di Pulau Putri, Kabupaten Administrasi Kepulauan Seribu dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dekriptif, data dianalisis dengan analisis komposisi jenis dan komposisi bobot dan mengolah data yang didapat di lapangan dan membandingkannya dengan studi pustaka yang relevan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa spesies yang didapatkan adalah 10 pada bubu I dan 9 spesies pada bubu II. Tingkat keanekaragaman bubu I dan II adalah 1,56 dan 1,16 (sedang). Sedangkan tingkat dominansinya  adalah 0,3 dan 0,5 (tinggi)

Abstract

Ikan merupakan hasil tangkapan harus segera ditangani untuk menghambat penurunan mutu dan penurunan harga jualnya. Namun demikian, nelayan sebagai pelaku utamanya tidak mempertimbangkan apakah upaya yang dilakukan tersebut layak secara teknis atau ekonomis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses penanganan ikan di TPI Higienis di PPN Sibolga dan mengetahui fasilitas dan peralatan pendukung yang terdapat di TPI Higienis di PPN Sibolga dalam mempertahankan mutu ikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan observasi. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa proses penanganan ikan di TPI Higienis di PPN Sibolga sudah baik karena sudah menggunakan konveyor dan dilengkapi dengan kanopi untuk menjaga mutu ikan tetap baik. Selanjutnya fasilitas TPI Higienis di PPN Sibolga sudah lengkap untuk menerapkan standar yang tinggi dalam pengelolaan hasil perikanan dan pengelolaan lingkungan pelabuhan

Abstract

Perairan pantai barat Sumatera memiliki potensi perikanan yang besar dan berbagai jenis sumber daya termasuk sumber daya ikan pelagis, ikan damersal dan lain-lain. Ikan layang merupakan sumber daya ikan pelagis kecil yang paling dominan yang diibaratkan sebagai pelabuhan perikanan nusantara di Sibolga. Permintaan pasar yang besar menyebabkan kegiatan penangkapan ikan cenderung tidak terkendali dan rata-rata berfluktuasi. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan analisis hasil tangkapan ikan laying untuk mengendalikan tingkat eksploitasi dan pengawasan alat tangkap yang tidak selektif agar pemanfaatan sumberdaya ikan layang dapat berjalan optimal dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aspek dinamika populasi ikan layang di PPN Sibolga. Berdasarkan informasi ekologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari - April 2023. Pengumpulan data meliputi data primer yaitu panjang dan berat ikan, serta data sekunder yaitu publikasi ilmiah dan data statistik perikanan tangkap dari PPN Sibolga. Terdapat 200 sampel ikan yang diperoleh selama penelitian dengan kisaran panjang 17,8-322 cm. Estimasi pertumbuhan menggunakan metode Von Bertalanffy. Berdasarkan analisis hubungan panjang-berat, ikan layang yang ditemukan di PPN Sibolga memiliki pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif. Laju mortalitas M = 3.398E-152.

Abstract

Uncontrolled, continuous fishing activities and the absence of recruitment processes are indicated to lead to the degradation of fish species. A significant portion of the mackerel scad stock currently relies on natural resources, resulting in unstable fish stocks and abundance when captured without proper management. This research aims to calculate the Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE), and evaluate the Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY), and Total Allowable Catch (TAC/JTB) of mackerel scad. The study was conducted at the Sibolga Fishing Port with data collection carried out through surveys and utilizing the surplus production method of the Schaefer model. The findings indicated that the CPUE value in 2018 was 0,639 tons per trip, which increased to 0,764 tons per trip in 2019, then decreased to 0,527 tons per trip in 2020, and further reduced to 0,506 tons per trip in 2021. However, in 2022 it increased, back to 0,639 tons per trip again. Purse seine gear emerged as the most influential fishing method for mackerel scad resources, experiencing fluctuations in effort levels every year. In the meantime, the CMSY value from the Schaefer model was 8,699.7, leading to the conclusion that the fishing status is already fully exploited. Meanwhile, the FMSY value was 5,447 trips, indicating an overfishing situation since the annual catch effort has exceeded the FMSY value. The allowable catch limit (TAC/JTB) was set at 6,959.7 tons.

Abstract

Most of the Central Tapanuli Regency area is on the coast, which is part of the Indian Ocean waters and has great potential in the fishing industry, especially marine fisheries. One of the fishing gears widely used by fishermen in Central Tapanuli is the gill net. Although the amount of marine fisheries resources in Central Tapanuli is quite abundant, the catch of gillnet fishermen often fluctuates, so fishing aids are needed to increase catches, one of the efforts made is using LACUBA. This research was conducted from February to April 2024 in Sibolga Bay, Central Tapanuli. This study used a completely randomised design (CRD), with the first 30 metres of gill net treatment with LACUBA and the remaining 30 metres without LACUBA treatment with a total net length of 60 metres. The results showed that the catch of gill nets using LACUBA influenced the catch, the total catch was 16,845 grams, without LACUBA 8,290 grams for 14 times. Gill nets with LACUBA can increase catches compared to without LACUBA, due to the addition of attractants to the net, so that fish including positive phototaxis will be caught in the net, besides that fish that are looking for prey are also caught because they want to prey on their food in the gill net area.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of utilization of basic facilities at the Lambada Fishing Port, Aceh Besar. This study was located at the Lambada Fishing Port, Aceh Besar. The data taken in this study were secondary data, this data was taken directly at the Lambada Fishing Port management office, namely data on fishing gear, catches, fishing fleets and facilities at the port. While primary data was taken directly at the Lambada Fishing Port using questionnaires, observations and interviews. The interview method used was the purposive sampling method. Analysis of basic facilities at the Lambada Fishing Port was carried out by calculating the level of facility utilization. The results showed that the Lambada Fishing Port has an area of 1 Ha. The pier which is 400m long, the utilization rate only reached 70,75%. The area of the port pool is 3 Ha, but the utilization rate is only 3%. The depth of the port pool is also not optimal when viewed from the number of fishing boat fleets that have run aground when anchored at the Lambada Fishing Port. The strategy that can be suggested is to improve the facilities and infrastructure according to the needs and provisions to support good fisheries activities

Abstract

The need for fishery products that are healthy, safe, legal, sustainable, and democratic from time to time continues to increase. This makes the export destination country require a certificate issued by an institution. One of the standards used by such countries is the MSC ecolabel. MSC ecolabel is an endorsement of a product that meets the criteria of environmental sustainability procedures and hasbeen well managed. Ecolabel identifies fisheries governance properly based on established criteria, relating to the utilization of fishery resources and marine ecosystems. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an assessment related to the application of MSC ecolabels in the Sibolga tuna processing industry. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of gap (gap analysis) and the suitability of the application of the MSC ecolabel and examine various inhibiting factors. This research was conducted using survey methods and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with industry and Sibolga Archipelago Fishing Port. The analysis used was qualitative descriptive analysis, gap analysis, and conformity level analysis. The results showed that the level of conformity in the MSC CoC of 5 (five) criteria, only 1 criterion was in accordance with the standard, while the other four had not, with the level of conformity being 63.75%, 83.25%, 66.75, and 57.25%. The results of the assessment of the inhibiting factors were obtained from fishermen, processing industries, and government support. Keywords: MSC CoC, Sibolga, traceability, yellow fin tuna.

Abstract

AbstrakNelayan tradisional Lhok Meureubo melakukan penangkapan ikan di perairan <12 mil laut, sehingga hasil tangkapan yang diperoleh relatif kecil jika dibandingkan dengan kapal perikanan yang berukuran <5 GT yang melakukan penangkapan di perairan laut lepas pantai. Nelayan tradisional Lhok Meureubo masih menggunakan alat tangkap hand line untuk penangkapan ikan karang, sehingga nelayan tersebut memerlukan waktu yang lama dan hasil tangkapan yang belum pasti serta dapat merusak terumbu karang. Bubu dasar termasuk dalam alat tangkap ikan yang populer digunakan yang bersifat pasif dan menetap di dasar perairan yang bertujuan untuk menangkap ikan demersal nilai ekonomis tinggi sebagai komoditas ikan ekspor. Masyarakat yang terlibat langsung pada kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu nelayan tradisional Lhok Meureubo sebanyak 30 nelayan. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu memperkenalkan teknologi bubu dasar untuk memudahkan nelayan tradisional Lhok Meureubo untuk menangkap ikan karang. Metode pada pengabdian ini yaitu memberikan sosialisasi dan edukasi mulai dari persiapan kegiatan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan FGD persiapan kegiatan yang diperoleh adalah permasalahan nelayan tradisional Lhok Meureubo yang dihadapi selama ini dalam melakukan penangkapan ikan karang, nelayan yang akan terlibat langsung, waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan sosialisasi dan edukasi. Memberikan sosialisasi dan edukasi langsung kepada nelayan tradisional Lhok Meureubo terkait alat tangkap teknologi bubu berbasis sumberdaya lokal yang dapat digunakan oleh nelayan tradisional tersebut untuk menangkapa ikan karang.Kata kunci: nelayan tradisional; bubu dasar; ramah lingkungan; sumberdaya lokal. AbstractLhok Meureubo traditional fishermen fish in waters <12 nautical miles, so the catch obtained is relatively small when compared to fishing vessels measuring <5 GT which fish in offshore sea waters. Lhok Meureubo traditional fishermen still use handline fishing gear to catch coral fish, so these fishermen need a long time and the catch is uncertain and can damage coral reefs. Bottom traps are one of the popular fishing tools used, which are passive and remain at the bottom of the waters with the aim of catching demersal fish with high economic value as export fish commodities. This community service activity directly involves 30 traditional fishermen from Lhok Meureubo. The purpose of this activity is to introduce basic trap technology to make it easier for traditional fishermen from Lhok Meureubo to catch reef fish. The method of this service is to provide socialization and education, starting with activity preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the FGD activity in preparation for the activities obtained were the problems that Lhok Meureubo traditional fishermen have faced so far in fishing for coral fish, the fishermen who will be directly involved, and the timing of the socialization and education activities. Providing direct outreach and education to Lhok Meureubo traditional fishermen regarding local resource-based trap technology fishing equipment that can be used by traditional fishermen to catch coral fish. Keywords: traditional fishermen; bottom traps; environmentally friendly; local resources.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to increase fishermen knowledge about underwater LED as an innovation that could increase the catches and reduce the bycatch. The methods used was education and interactive discussion using slide media delivered by the speakers. The program began by making administrative preaparation related to licensing socialization activities, meeting with Panglima Laot adn the fishermen who were in audience. There are team from Aceh DKP of Aceh Barat Regency as the goverment, in addition there was discussion tnteractive. Fishermen will gain more in-depth and practical knowledge, and be motivated to use this echnology in the future. Activities that are interactive and supported by visual media making the discussion more interesting and effective. Abstrak Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan pengetahuan nelayan terkait teknologi LED celup bawah air ini sebagai inovasi yang dapat meningkatkan hasil tangkapan dan mengurangi bycatch. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode edukasi dan diskusi interaktif dengan mengunakan media slide yang disampaikan oleh narasumber. Program dimulai dengan melakukan persiapan administrasi terkait perizinan kegiatan sosialisasi, berjumpa bersama Panglima Laot Ujong Drien serta nelayan yang menjadi audiens. Tidak lupa juga hadir tim dari DKP Kabupaten Aceh sebagai pemerintah, selain itu juga dilakukan diskusi interaktif langsung. Nelayan akan mendapatkan pengetahuan yang lebih mendalam dan praktis, serta termotivasi untuk menggunakan teknologi ini kedepannya. Kegiatan yang interaktif dan didukung oleh media visual, membuat diskusi lebih menarik dan efektif.
