Abstract

Salah satu bahan alam yang sudah terbukti mampu mengatasi inflamasi adalah minyak atsiri bunga cengkeh (MABC). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sifat fisik dan uji iritasi sediaan emulgel MABC dengan penambahan enhancer berupa kombinasi asam oleat dan propilen glikol untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penetrasi MABC  10% MABC dengan ditambahkan enhancer 10% kombinasi propilen glikol dan asam oleat dengam metode Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) untuk mengetahui formula yang akan memiliki parameter uji fisik dan uji iritasi terbaik. Parameter uji fisik yang dilakukan adalah uji viskositas, pH, daya sebar, dan daya lekat emulgel sedangkan uji iritasi dilakukan dengan hewan uji kelinci putih jantan. Data yang diperoleh dihitung dengan metode Simplex Lattice Design. Emulgel MABC dengan penambahan enhancer kombinasi propilen glikol dan asam oleat yang dihasilkan mempunyai sifat fisik yang baik dan tidak mengiritasi kulit hewan uji. Komposisi optimum campuran enhancer sesuai metode SLD adalah 100% propilen glikol.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Dusun Puluhan Kidul, Trimurti, Srandakan, Bantul mempunyai potensi alam berupa banyaknya tanaman pertanian dengan jenis empon-empon dan banyaknya tanaman buah yang ditanam di pekarangan rumh warga. Adanya potensi tersebut dapat dikembangkan menjadi sediaan yang bernilai ekonomis lebih tinggi daripada dijual mentah. Salah satu usaha yang sudah dilakukan oleh kelompok wanita tani di dusun Puluhan Kidul  adalah pembuatan jamu instan. Untuk mendukung produk tersebut dan meningkatkan tingkat pendapatan anggota kelompok maka dibuatlah varian produk yang lain yaitu agar-agar kering jamu dan agar-agar kering sari buah. Tujuan : pengabdian masyarakat ini  untuk memberikan inovasi baru pengolahan jamu dan sari buah menjadi sediaan agar-agar kering, sehingga diharapkan sediaan yang dihasilkan mempunyai nilai jual lebih tinggi dan lebih tahan lama dalam penyimpanan. Metode : kegiatan pengabdian tersebut dilakukan melalui penyuluhan tanaman obat tradisional, pelatihan pembuatan agar-agar kering jamu dan agar-agar kering sari buah, pelatihan pengemasan agar-agar kering jamu dan agar-agar kering sari buah serta pemberian hibah alat-alat produksi sediaan tersebut. Hasil :  diketahui cara pembuatan agar-agar kering jamu dan agar-agar sari buah yang dapat diproduksi massal sehingga meningkatkan taraf kesejahteraan ekonomi anggota kelompok wanita tani dan warga dusun Puluhan Kidul pada umumnya. Kesimpulan : Warga Dusun Puluhan Kidul memiliki pengetahuan dan kemampuan dalam pengolahan empon-empon dan buah menjadi produk agar-agar kering jamu dan agar-agar kering sari buah.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Usaha budidaya jamur di Dusun Gungan, Wukirsari, Cangkringan mempunyai potensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi suatu usaha yang dapat memberikan peningkatan kesejahteraan kepada anggota kelompok wanita tani secara signfikan karena sudah tersedia fasilitas bangunan untuk budidaya yang cukup memadai. Hal ini didukung juga dengan status Dusun Gungan yang merupakan salah satu dusun wisata di desa Wukirsari, Cangkringan, Sleman, sehingga akan memudahkan pemasaran produk olahan jamur tersebut dengan memberikan nilai kekhasannya. Tujuan: Untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan kontinuitas budidaya jamur tiram serta memberikan peningkatan kualitas produk jamur tiram goreng yang diolah. Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian tersebut dilakukan melalui penyuluhan dan pengembangan budidaya jamur dan strategi pemasaran, pelatihan budidaya jamur, pengadaan hibah alat spinner, sealer plastik dan timbangan, pelatihan penggunaan alat spinner dan packaging produk jamur crispy. Hasil: Hasil yang didapatkan adalah berupa peningkatan volume kapasitas produksi, packaging dan kualitas produk yang lebih baik. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan kontinuitas budidaya jamur di Dusun Gungan, Wukirsari dan peningkatan kualitas produk jamur tiram goreng yang diolah.

Abstract

Quercetin is a highly prevalent flavonoid commonly found in a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. This compound has various biological actions, indicating great potential in preventing diseases and promoting health but the disadvantages include low solubility and instability. The disadvantages can be overcome by using a polymer composite in the form of microspheres in the formulation. Therefore, this study aimed to review various uses of polymers in delivering quercetin compounds. The results showed that various polymers in microspheres have been formulated with quercetin to minimize the weaknesses. The delivery systems developed and reported from several related studies include microencapsulation, microcapsules, microparticles, microspheres, solid lipid microparticles (SLM), and nanoparticles. Polymers including Gelatine, Maltodextrin and Inulin, Carnauba wax, Poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA), Gyceryl behenate, Pectin, Nano-hydroxyapatite, Polycaprolactone, Starch, Chitosan, Eudragit S 100, Sodium Alginate, Ethyl cellulose, and Alumina efficiently improved the properties of quercetin, enabling the utilization as a controlled drug delivery agent. Therefore, developing a quercetin delivery system using composite polymers presents both an opportunity and a challenge for future applications.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini ditujukan kepada UMKM Industri Produk Bakpia danMakanan Ringan Dusun Lopati, Trimurti, Srandakan, Bantul. Menurut Kepala Dusun Lopati,Timurti, Srandakan, Bantul, baru terdapat 1 (satu) pelaku UMKM di Dusun Lopati yangsudah memiliki izin PIRT. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memfasilitasi para pelakuUMKM Industri Bakpia dan Makanan Ringan dusun Lopati untuk mendapatkan nomor izinPIRT. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode, penyuluhan sertifikasi halal oleh penyelia halalMajelis Ulama Indonesia, dan bimbingan teknis keamanan pangan dari Dinas KesehatanBantul dengan mengikutsertakan kegiatan pre test dan post test pada masing-masing kegiatan.Kegiatan diawali dengan Penyuluhan Bimtek Keamanan Pangan Industri Rumah TanggaPangan (IRTP) dari Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Bantul. Dilanjutkan dengan penyuluhanproses pengurusan Sertifikasi Halal oleh Penyelia Halal Majelis Ulama Indonesia sekaligusDosen Pembimbing Lapangan (DPL) Kelompok KKN 098 UMY. Melalui fasilitasi dariKelompok KKN 098 UMY, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berhasil menghantarkan 6UMKM mendapatkan SPP-IRT (Bakpia 383, Bakpia Indri, Bakpia 065, Bakpia 93, StickTahu, dan Bolu Eko) yang diserahkan langsung kepada para pemilik UMKM. Denganmemiliki SPP-IRT ditambah dengan sertifikat halal, mutu dan keamanan produk akanterjamin sehingga kepercayaan dan minat beli konsumen meningkat yang pada akhirnya akanmemperluas area pemasaran dan peningkatkan volume penjualan produk UMKM IndustriBakpia dan Produk Makanan Ringan Dusun Lopati, Trimurti, Srandakan, Bantul.

Abstract

Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash is one of the plants with high flavonoid compound content with antioxidant activity. This study aims to formulate a spray gel of the root of Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash infusion determines UV protection and observes the level of irritation caused by the application.  This study used formulas at variations concentrations FI 1%, FII 5%, and FIII 10%. The formulas observed flavonoid content, sun protection factor (SPF) value, and irritation index. Flavonoid content was tested using the Willstatter method. The SPF value was determined in vitro using UV-spectrophotometer, while the irritation test was conducted using the Draize test method. The SPF value test results showed that Formula 0 (F0), FI, FII, FIII, and the commercial preparation had SPF values of 0.355, 2.856, 5.324, 6.634, and 13.438, respectively. Meanwhile, the irritation test obtained an irritation infection of 0.3 in the commercial preparation and 0.6 in F3. Therefore, FII has the potential to be UV-protected and have a minimal irritating effect.

Abstract

Pathological conditions of hypertension can occur due to contractions of blood vessels. Vascular contraction response occurs when epinephrine successfully binds to adrenergic receptors. Objective: This study aims to determine the antagonistic activity of giving ethanolic extracts of fig leaves (Ficus carica L. Folium) in β-adrenergic receptors of isolated aortic organs and to determine the value of the affinity of one of the compounds present in fig leaf extract, which has a strong potential as a vasodilator agent to treat hypertension. This study uses in silico and in vitro methods. The in silico method test used molecular docking, and the in vitro method test used an organ bath on a guinea pig's aortic organs. An in silico docking test was conducted on compounds suspected to have a vasodilator effect, namely Quercetin and β-adrenergic receptor test with native ligand timolol (PDB ID: 6PS6). The in vitro testing of foliar ethanolic extracts was done by administering 0.5 mg of extracts at 100 µL and 200 µL. The resulting data included a percent of aortic contraction data on administering epinephrine concentration series, which was transformed into a pD2 value. The result from the in silico method showed that quercetin binding affinity value (-7.8 kcal/mol) was better than timolol as a comparison (-6.4 kcal/mol). The result from the in vitro method showed that the fig leaf's ethanolic extract could shift the percentage curve of contraction response to the administration of epinephrine series by decreasing the pD2 value. A dose of 0.5 mg volume 200 µL is effective because it gives a significant difference to the control group but does not show a significant difference in the comparison group. Conclusively, the ethanolic extract of fig leaves can be developed as a vasodilator agent.

Abstract

Introduction: Relapse is one of the undesirable effects of orthodontic treatment. Prevention of relapse has been carried out with the use of retainer devices. Several studies also have been carried out to prevent relapse with pharmacological agents such as bisphosphonates. One of the strongest bisphosphonates is risedronate. Systemic use of bisphosphonates can cause bisphosphonate-related necrosis of the jaw (BRONJ). Systemic effects can be minimised by topical preparations locally, where the virgin coconut oil (VCO) emulgel is one of the topical preparations which controls the release of drugs. This study aims to analyse the release profile of risedronate emulgel as a material to inhibit relapse movement. Methods: This research was conducted in an experimental laboratory. Group 1 was emulgel without bisphosphonate risedronate with virgin coconut oil (VCO), Group 2 was VCO emulgel with bisphosphonates risedronate, and Group 3 was a pure bisphosphonate risedronate solution. Each group weighing 100 mg was placed in 10 ml PBS, and the release test was conducted with UV/VIS Spectrophotometer wavelength λ 262 nm at intervals of 1, 2, 4, 8, 24, 48, and 96 hours with three replications at each group. Results: Grup 2 yielded a controlled drug release of risedronate until 96 hours, while a pure solution of risedronate resulted in an uncontrolled drug release of risedronate, which was released entirely in 4 hours. Conclusion: Risedronate emulgel with VCO had a controlled drug release compared to pure bisphosphonate solution to potentially be applied topically to inhibit relapse movement.

Abstract

BUMDEs Makarti berada di Margoluwih, Seyegan, Sleman. BUMDes ini memiliki 3 unit usaha yang meliputi: pertanian, jasa perdagangan, dan pariwisata, namun ketiganya belum berjalan optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas unit usaha pertanian dan unit usaha jasa perdagangan. Metode yang digunakan berupa pelatihan pengolahan hasil pertanian lidah buaya yang dimiliki BUMDes menjadi produk bernilai ekonomis yaitu sabun cair cuci piring dan sabun cair cuci tangan. Metode lain yang digunakan berupa pembuatan artikel dan publikasi untuk mempromosikan adanya Pasar Klithikan setiap hari PON di depan Stadion TGP Margoluwih melalui media massa sehingga dapat mengait pengunjung untuk datang dan mengetahui adanya Pasar Klithikan. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah lahirnya produk inovasi sabun cair cuci piring dan cuci tangan berbahan dasar lidah buaya hasil usaha pertanian milik BUMDes yang berhasil dikomersialisasikan oleh BUMDes Makarti dan semakin dikenalnya keberadaan Pasar Klithikan yang merupakan unit usaha BUMDes Makarti. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berefek kepada peningkatan pendapatan BUMDes Makarti sehingga meningkatan kapasitas BUMDEs Makarti untuk menjadi Badan Usaha Milik Desa Margoluwih yang sehat secara pendapatan dan manajemen

Abstract

Background: Long-term usage of paracetamol damages liver cells characterized by the increasing levels of Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT) and Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase (SGOT). Figs (Ficus carica L.) leaves contain high flavonoid compounds that able to act as hepatoprotector agents which inhibited the process of liver damage. Objectives: This study aims to determine the dose characteristics and hepatoprotective activity of figs (Ficus carica L.) leaves extract. Material and Methods: The hepatoprotective activity of figs extract (Ficus carica L.) was determined by measuring SGPT & SGOT levels in rat blood. 42 rats were prepared, divided into 7 groups: normal control group, negative control given paracetamol with a dose 40 mg/200 g BW, positive control given hepamax®, base control given Na CMC, and 3 test dose groups given figs leaves extract with a dose of 40 mg/200 g BW, 80 mg BW/200 g BW and 160 mg/200 g BW. The treatment was carried out for 14 consecutive days. Paracetamol was given for 14 days, while positive control, 3 test dose groups and base control were given on day 7 to day 14. Rats blood samples were taken through the orbital sinuses on day 1, day 5, day 10 and day 14 after treatment began. SGPT & SGOT levels were determined using spectrophotometry with analytical methods using specific SGPT & SGOT reagent kits. Results: The results showed that the leaves extract of figs (Ficus carica L.) proved to be able to reduce the levels of SGPT & SGOT with the most potent dosage was 40 mg/200 g BW. However, the reduction of SGPT & SGOT levels were not significantly different from other treatments. Conclusions: Figs (Ficus carica L.) leaves extract showed activity as a hepatoprotective agent, based on the reduction of SGPT & SGOT levels in rat after 14 days of treatment.
