Abstract

This research is motivated by the findings of students' difficulties in understanding the concept of food chains in the IPAS subject. The fact that the current generation is a digital generation accustomed to technology also supports the importance of innovation in learning. Learning resources that might aid students in comprehending abstract ideas are necessary because many educators continue to employ traditional teaching techniques. This research attempts to examine how well digital diorama media works as an educational innovation that can improve students' comprehension of the food chain concept. This study utilized a quasi-experimental approach using a non-equivalent control group design. In this study, sixty fifth-graders from Karawang Regency's SD Puri Artha participated. Students were split up into two groups: the experimental group used digital diorama material, and the control group used traditional means. Data were obtained through concept understanding tests before and after the intervention, as well as observations and interviews. According to the study's findings, pupils who used digital dioramas to learn had a significantly higher conceptual grasp than those who used traditional methods (p<0.05). Students can more easily comprehend the relationships between organisms in the food chain with the help of digital diorama media, which can offer crisper visuals. Additionally, pupils actively participate in the learning process and exhibit interest in it. The conclusion of this study is that digital diorama media is not only effective in enhancing students' understanding of the food chain concept but also in increasing students' learning motivation.

Abstract

Teachers, as facilitators, are required to create learning activities that involve active student participation, which encourages the development of a learning interest. The lack of media use in learning activities causes low student interest in learning. Monopoly media is one of the learning media that can attract students' attention to actively engage in the learning process his study examines the influence of monopoly media in increasing the learning interest of elementary school students using the Systematic Literature Review method through the Publish and Perish and Google Scholar platforms.  This study uses 19 recent research articles, which were selected based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis method used is qualitative descriptive. The research results show that the monopoly media is effective in increasing the learning interest of elementary school students.  Monopoly can stimulate students to participate actively, the interactive appearance of monopoly, and attracts students' interest in the learning process. Monopoly media is expected to be developed by using models, methods, or other approaches adapted to the learning needs of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of augmented reality (AR)-based teaching materials in enhancing students' understanding of science concepts and their independent learning skills in the subject of Natural Sciences (IPA) at Karawang Kulon II Elementary School. The methodology applied in this study is quantitative, incorporating a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. Data collection involved administering written tests and questionnaires to assess students' conceptual understanding and learning independence. Results reveal that the average score achieved in the pretest for students was 64.2, while the average posttest score increased to 77.95, with the gain test indicating a substantial improvement. Additionally, the questionnaire results indicate that students' learning independence is categorized as very good, with a percentage of 90%. These findings highlight that the use of AR contributes to a better understanding of science concepts among students and supports their independent learning efforts. This research contributes meaningfully to the enhancement of innovative and effective teaching methods, while also offering educators insights for designing more engaging and interactive educational experiences.

Abstract

The development of Interactive E-Modules with STEM-PBL approach on Ecology and biodiversity materials is needed because of the lack of use of Interactive E-Modules in schools, as well as low critical thinking skills, and student learning outcomes.  This study aims to present the characteristics, validity, effectiveness and relationship of critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes. The results of questionnaire analysis using Aiken-V showed that the E-Module was valid from 5 validators, namely material and media experts with an average value of 0.88. The results of students' critical thinking skills are shown by the N-Gain value of 0.58 with moderate. Student learning outcomes are shown by the N-Gain value of 0.57 with a moderate category.  Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the Interactive E-Module with STEM-PBL approach on ecology and biodiversity material can be used in learning to improve students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of 3D media based on experiential learning in enhancing students’ learning motivation and critical thinking skills on the topic of the human respiratory system. The media was developed using the ADDIE model and tested through a quasi-experimental design involving eighth-grade students divided into control and experimental groups. Data were collected through pretest, posttest, questionnaires, observation, and interviews. The experimental group used 3D web-based media, while the control group received conventional instruction. Results showed a significant increase in the experimental group’s motivation, especially in interest, effort, persistence, and self-confidence. Critical thinking also improved, particularly in argumentation and implementation. Welch’s t-test showed a significance value of 0.000, and n-gain analysis revealed higher effectiveness in the experimental group, with learning motivation categorized as high (n-gain = 0.7) and critical thinking as moderate (n-gain = 0.5), compared to low in the control group (n-gain = 0.3). The integration of interactive 3D visualization with experiential learning allowed students to better connect theoretical concepts to real-life applications. These findings suggest that experiential learning-based 3D media is a powerful tool to improve motivation and critical thinking in science education.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe assessment and evaluation strategies in primary schools that support the improvement of learning quality and student outcomes. The main issue addressed is the suboptimal implementation of comprehensive and contextual assessment practices, where many teachers still rely heavily on written tests and have not fully integrated formative, diagnostic, or authentic assessments. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review method. Data were collected from relevant national and international scholarly sources published between 2020 and 2025, and analyzed through data reduction, thematic presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that effective assessment strategies include the use of various assessment types (diagnostic, formative, and summative), techniques (observation, performance assessment, written tests, interviews, reflective journals, portfolios), and the integration of technology such as online quizzes, digital assignment submissions, and e-portfolios. These strategies support active, reflective, and student-centered learning. However, their implementation faces several challenges, including limited teacher understanding, administrative burdens, and varying levels of student readiness. Proposed solutions involve continuous professional development, the use of digital tools, and adaptive assessment approaches. This study contributes both practically and theoretically by offering insights into effective and sustainable assessment strategies to enhance the overall quality of primary education.
