Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce students' learning trajectories in studying addition and subtraction of fractional numbers. The operation of adding and splitting fractional numbers is one of the materials that must be mastered by elementary school students. The learning approach used is the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach with the context of the Watervang dam. The use of the Watervang dam context is used as a means to apply the concept of addition and subtraction of fractional numbers to real problems. His research uses the validation studies type design research method. The subjects of the study were six grade IV students of SD IT An-Nida Lubuklinggau City. This research produces a learning trajectory (LT) which contains a series of learning activities that help students understand the concepts of addition and subtraction of fractional numbers. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the learning trajectory using the context of the Watervang dam can help students develop an understanding of the concept of addition and subtraction of fractional numbers.

Abstract

A learning process is said to be good if learning is student-centered. Students perform activities in the learning process by using context as a starting point in learning. Design Research with a cycle that contains components of knowledge (K), design (D), experiment (E), reflection (R) is an alternative to create student-centered learning and obtain information and findings in research. This research was conducted in one of the junior high schools in Palembang City with a sample of 23 students. Research procedures were carried out including observation data analysis, interviews and documentation analysis. The conclusion of this research is that the existing knowledge of students is used as a basis for designing learning activities so that when implementing experiments students are able to carry out activities that are related to the initial abilities of students so that the context appears to be a strating point in learning so that the findings that arise can be analyzed and become a reflection to carry out cycles. Then the effectiveness of learning goes according to design and produces a series of understanding of numbers and also the situation of "pulling" and "stretching" in the kite game can be converted into "positive and "negative" symbols

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to develop PMRI-based teaching materials on the elementary school geometry material that meets valid criteria. The research method used in this research is research-type development studies, with research carried out covering three stages: the preliminary stage, the prototyping stage, and the assessment stage. The technique of data collection using walk-through is done by providing teaching materials to experts, who then give comments as well as a mere view of each content, design, and language. Data analysis techniques are the result of a walk-through with experts analysed descriptively as input used to revise the teaching material, validation of the results of expert validation (expert review), and one-to-one results. The results of the development of PMRI-based teaching materials on the valid elementary school geometry materials are derived from the results of expert validation audits in terms of content, construction, and language and one-to-one audits.

Abstract

Foundational mathematical concepts like ratios and proportions are indispensable for solving both everyday problems and those encountered in professional settings. However, many students need help to grasp and apply these concepts effectively, often due to ineffective teaching methods, variations in students' levels of comprehension, and shortcomings in existing learning models. Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) have emerged as promising solutions to address these challenges. This study aims to systematically review the literature on ratio and proportion learning design using RME and PMRI approaches. It focuses on three specific research inquiries: profiling the literature, analyzing employed learning designs, and identifying gaps and recommendations for further research in learning design development. Conducted through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, the research involved planning, implementing, and disseminating review results. One hundred forty-four documents were scrutinized, leading to the identification of 19 pertinent papers. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the literature on learning design in the context of ratio, proportion, scale, and level, utilizing RME and PMRI approaches while highlighting research gaps and offering insights for future studies. Its findings hold significant implications for educators and researchers seeking to enhance mathematics education through RME and PMRI approaches.

Abstract

The importance of developing PISA-type questions and learning activities is to familiarize students with these questions. This study employs a research design with development studies that include the stages of preliminary evaluation and formative evaluation. This research was conducted in response to the low mathematical reasoning skills of students in Indonesia, focusing on eighth-grade junior high school students. Qualitative findings were obtained from field data in the form of interviews, photos, and videos of the activities. The results of this study produced six units of activity questions and three units of evaluation questions on the theme of elections, which are valid and practical for enhancing mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students. The average score of students for Activity 1, Activity 2, and evaluation questions reached 53.45, indicating the potential effect of PISA-type questions and activities in the context of uncertainty and data with the theme of elections on students' mathematical reasoning skills, which are categorized as adequate. The reasoning indicator that appeared most frequently was the ability to make a conjecture, while the ability to manipulate mathematics was rarely observed. Overall, PISA-type questions and activities in an election context can be used to strengthen students' mathematical reasoning abilities.
