Abstract

Bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) memiliki banyak manfaat untuk pengobatan, salah satunya untuk penyakit kulit. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Literature Review Article (LRA). Penelusuran literatur melalui Pubmed dan Google Scholar menggunakan sumber data elektronik yang dipublikasikan dari tahun 2010-2021. Hasil pencarian literatur yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi ditemukan sebanyak 30 literatur dari 80 temuan. Berdasarkan tinjauan beberapa literatur menunjukkan bahwa bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) memiliki aktivitas farmakologis yang meliputi antioksidan dan mengandung senyawa kimia atau metabolit sekunder seperti tanin, flavonoid, fenolat, antosianin, glikosida flavonol, glikosida kaempferol, kuersetin. glikosida, glikosida myricetin.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan tinjauan literatur yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis aktivitas kandungan flavonoid jamun (Syzygium cumini) sebagai senyawa antiinflamasi. Flavonoid merupakan kelompok senyawa alami yang ditemukan dalam berbagai tumbuhan dan telah diketahui memiliki aktivitas biologis yang beragam, termasuk potensi sebagai agen antiinflamasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah literatur riview artikel (LRA), literatur dilakukan dengan mencari artikel ilmiah yang relevan menggunakan basis data elektronik seperti PubMed, ScienceDirect, dan Google Scholar. Kata kunci yang digunakan dalam pencarian meliputi “flavonoid,” “jamun,” “antiinflamasi. Hasil pencarian didapatkan 30 literatur. Berdasarkan hasil riview yang telah dilakukan bahwa jamblang mengandung banyak senyawa kimia antara lain alkaloid, flavonoid, resin, tanin, dan minyak atsiri. Salah satu senyawa yang berperan penting dalam dalam aktivitas antiinflamasi adalah flavonoid, flavonoid diketahui memiliki sifat anti inflamasi yang baik.

Abstract

Background: A dentigerous cyst is the second-most frequently observed odontogenic cyst, and an ameloblastoma is one of the most frequently observed odontogenic tumors. Both are mostly associated with an impacted mandibular third molar and have similar characteristics. Diagnostic difficulties often result in misdiagnosis and remain a challenge to overcome. Comprehensive clinical, radiographic, and histopathological views are essential to correctly diagnose the problem and formulate the most suitable treatment plan. Purpose: This case report aims to present a thorough approach to the diagnostic and surgical procedures involved in treating a dentigerous cyst that resembles an ameloblastoma by using marsupialization followed by enucleation. Case: This article presents the case report of a 27-year-old male patient with an infected dentigerous cyst resembling a unicystic ameloblastoma associated with a totally impacted lower mandibular left third molar. The patient had a history of swelling, pain, and pus drainage in the retromolar area. Symptoms subsided after antibiotic and analgesic prescriptions, but the lesion remained and was slowly progressing. The diagnostic approach began with a fine-needle aspiration biopsy, and the result confirmed a benign cystic lesion that was suspected to be an odontogenic tumor. Then an incisional biopsy was conducted under local anesthesia, diagnosing an infected dentigerous cyst. Case Management: Marsupialization and decompression using an obturator was preferred, followed by enucleation. Nine months later, a radiographic examination revealed satisfactory bone regeneration without recurrence. Conclusion: An incisional biopsy plays a vital role in establishing a definitive diagnosis. Marsupialization followed by enucleation offers an excellent combination of treatments achieving complete cyst removal, anatomical structure preservation, and bone regeneration with minimal complications.

Abstract

Buah naga merah atau Selenicereus Undatus dapat dibuat menjadi pewarna alami karena kandungan antosianinnya yang tinggi. Dalam kosmetik, pewarna merupakan salah satu penyebab iritasi kulit dan alergi, oleh karena itu peneliti mengembangkan sediaan lipstik dengan menggunakan pewarna alami dari buah naga merah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat formula lipstik menggunakan pewarna yang diekstraksi dari buah naga merah dan untuk mengetahui bahwa sediaan lipstik menggunakan pewarna dari buah naga merah tidak menyebabkan iritasi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen yaitu pembuatan sediaan lipstik ekstrak buah naga merah pada konsentrasi 10%, 20%, 30% dan 40%. Pengujian dan preparat yang dilakukan meliputi pemeriksaan homogenitas, pemeriksaan pH, oles oles, uji stabilitas terhadap perubahan bentuk, warna dan bau selama 30 hari penyimpanan pada suhu ruang dan uji 'iritasi'. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah komposisi sediaan lipstik menggunakan ekstrak biji naga merah sebagai pewarna yang dibuat sangat kuat, diperoleh hasil yang tidak homogen karena ekstrak biji naga merah terdispersi lemah dalam cairan lipstik lainnya dan dalam larutan . Mengunyah 20% tanaman membentuk rongga yang penyebab utamanya adalah minyak (Oleum ricini) yang kecil. PH bervariasi dari 4,9 hingga 6,1 (kisaran kecil dari pH fisiologis bibir, yaitu ± 4), tidak memungkinkan untuk memijat dengan benar karena warnanya tidak bagus, tidak menyebabkan iritasi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah formulasi lipstik selain ekstrak buah naga merah tidak banyak memberikan efek visual, hasil pengujian menunjukkan keempat sediaan lipstik yang dilakukan tidak homogen.

Abstract

Nanopartikel hibrid lipid-polimer telah menjadi subjek penelitian yang menarik dalam bidang nanoteknologi dan pengiriman obat. Komponen lipid dan polimer digabungkan melalui interaksi fisik atau kimia yang menghasilkan partikel berukuran nanometer. Selain itu, nanopartikel ini dapat dimodifikasi secara permukaan dengan penambahan ligand atau targeting agent untuk meningkatkan pengiriman obat ke target spesifik. Aplikasi dari nanopartikel hibrid lipid-polimer termasuk pengiriman obat, telah dieksplorasi untuk aplikasi di luar terapi antikanker, misalnya untuk pengobatan infeksi paru-paru dan pembuluh darah yang terluka, pengiriman vaksin, dan bioimaging. Dalam bidang pengiriman obat, nanopartikel ini dapat meningkatkan stabilitas obat, mengurangi efek samping, dan meningkatkan bioavailabilitas obat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah literatur riview artikel (LRA), literatur dilakukan dengan mencari artikel ilmiah yang relevan menggunakan basis data elektronik seperti Springerlink, Elsevier, Google Scholar, Pubmed dan NCBI dengan menggunakan kata kunci seperti Nanoparticles, Drug Delivery, Hibrid Lipid-Polimer. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 30 literatur. Berdasarkan hasil riview yang telah dilakukan bahwa nanopartikel mempunyai potensi yang baik dan dapat dikembangkan sebagai sistem penghantaran obat baru.

Abstract

Background: Mandibular fracture is a condition of mandibular discontinuity. The treatment aims to reconstruct the appropriate anatomical position. Reduction is the process of repositioning fracture fragments to their original anatomical positions, which can be done by open and closed techniques. Open reduction is more invasive, and the possibility of nerve or blood vessel injury and infection postoperatively is greater. Closed reduction also has postoperative complications such as muscle atrophy, periodontal tissue and mucosa damage, speech disorders, and nutritional disorders. In the final determination of the treatment plan, the advantages, disadvantages, and risks of each treatment and the risk of complications should be sufficiently discussed with patients and the patient’s guardians. Purpose: This case aims to compare the outcome of open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) with closed reduction treatment in the management of mandibular parasymphysis fractures. Cases: Two case studies of mandibular parasymphysis fractures. Clinically, each patient had mandibular displacement and occlusion disturbance before treatment. Case Management: The treatment plan is considered by the patient’s age and fracture type. One patient received ORIF, and the other received close reduction treatment with gradual repositioning. Malocclusion after treatment was absent in both cases. Conclusion: Open reduction is recommended for displaced parasymphysis fractures. In cases where the open reduction technique cannot be performed, the closed technique can be an alternative, especially on non-displaced or minimally displaced parasymphysis fractures.

Abstract

Highlights Biodentine has undergone thorough research as a bone grafting substance due to its ability to promote bone regeneration and effectively treat root or tooth fractures. PRF and Biodentine can stimulate osteogenesis, affecting bone repair, particularly in mandibular fractures.   Abstract Background:  Mandibular fracture is one of the most common fractures. The most common treatment for mandibular fractures is fixation. Therefore, xenogeneic agents such as platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and Biodentine accelerate the reparative process. Biodentine is an interesting active ingredient that can induce bone regeneration. PRF and Biodentine can promote bone healing, but no literature discusses the differences between PRF and Biodentine osteoinduction mechanisms in treating mandibular fractures. Objective:  This article aimed to compare the effect of osteoinductive PRF with Biodentine for mandibular fractures. Material and Method: The research was conducted as a scoping review by performing a thorough search of the PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, Elsevier, and Google Scholar databases. The study was obtained based on literature studies in the form of journals and textbooks in the last ten years (2013-2023). Result: The osteoinductive effect and mechanism of Biodentine in enhancing bone repair are likely correlated with releasing biologically active ions from calcium silicate cement and stimulating gene expression Runx-2. PRF has an osteoinductive role, causing the mechanism of releasing growth factors such as PDGF, VEGF, TGF-β, and IGF that promote the osteogenic process. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in the osteoinduction effect of PRF and Biodentine because these materials have different mechanisms of action for bone repair.

Abstract

Highlights Smoking is a notable and extensively debated risk factor for problems following tooth extraction, but research on electronic cigarettes remains scarce. Electronic cigarettes contain various components comparable with those in conventional cigarettes, potentially resulting in similar chemical composition and effects on alveolar osteitis.   Abstract Background: Tooth extraction is one of the minor dental surgical procedures involving the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity and has several possible complications. One potential risk is alveolar osteitis, also known as dry socket, which is an inflammation marked by intense pain and the dislodging of the blood clot. Smoking behavior is a significant risk factor for alveolar osteitis. Objective: This article aimed to analyze the effect of smoking and electronic cigarette ingredients on the incidence of alveolar osteitis after tooth extraction. Material and Methods: This research was conducted as a scoping review by performing thorough search of the PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases. Research published between 2013 and August 2023 in English language were assessed in this review. Result: A total of ten papers have been included in the analysis. Comparative studies consistently demonstrated that individuals who engage in smoking are at a significantly elevated risk of developing alveolar osteitis following tooth extraction. Discussion: Both conventional and electronic cigarettes can dislodge the blood clot that forms at the tooth socket after tooth extraction as a result of the sucking movement involved in smoking. Electronic cigarette components reduce oxygen delivery to healing tissues, hence accelerating fibrinolysis. Conclusion: Electronic cigarettes affect the occurrence of alveolar osteitis by the act of smoke inhaling and the presence of substances like carbon monoxide and nicotine.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there is an effect of compensation and work motivation on job satisfaction at PT. Kirana Swasti Parama. The research method used is a quantitative method with a data collection method through questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is the likert scale. The data source used is primary data with the help of statistical data analysis tools of the SPSS Version 26 program and the sample used in this study consists of 30 respondents. The variables used were independent, namely compensation (X1) and work motivation (X2), and the dependent variable was job satisfaction (Y). The results of the study on multiple linear regression analysis show the regression equation Y = 1.450 + 0.413 X1 + 0.539 X2. The results of the t-test result showed that tobtained > ttable (3.132 > 2.04523) for compensation for job satisfaction and the tobtained > ttable (4.617 > 2.04523) for motivation for job satisfaction, which means that there was an effect of compensation and work motivation on job satisfaction. The results of the F test showed a value of fobtained > ftable (104,747 > 3,354), meaning that the provision of compensation and work motivation had a great influence on the job satisfaction of employees of PT. Kirana Swasti Parama.
