Abstract

Which aims to determine the levels of heavy metals Pb and Cu in water, sediments and blood clam (Anadara granosa) in Muara Badak. Sampling using purposive sampling method with 3 stations and each station repeated twice. Levels of heavy metals Pb and Cu were measured using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results showed that the levels of heavy metals Cu and Pb in water, sediments and blood clams in Muara Badak as follows: Pb in water ranging between 0,204 – 0,376 ppm and Cu 0,033 to 0,035 ppm, sediment metal content of Pb 0,212 to 0,285 ppm and Cu 0,010 to 0,113 ppm, on blood clams Pb 0,201 to 0,258 ppm and Cu 0,066 to 0,078 ppm. Based on quality standards of heavy metal level Pb and Cu on blood clam did not exceed the threshold of quality standards yet in accordance with SNI No. 7387: 2009 is 1,5 ppm and Department of Health Republic Indonesia No. 0375/B/SK/1989 is 20 ppm

Abstract

This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of the seed avocado cooking water on lowering blood sugar levels in aloxan-diabetic mouse which has diet of black or red rice. The seed avocado cooking water was administered orally and the blood glucose level was measured weekly for 3 week. The research used a design random complete with 24 male then divided into 6 groups to be treated.The hypoglycaemic activity was evaluated by comparing with the initial blood glucoce level. In aloxan-diabetic mouse, the seed avocado cooking water and diet black or red rice showed their influence to decrease blood sugar levels between 42.72% s.d. 51.06%.The variation of combine the composition diet showed no difference in the effect of a decrease in blood sugar levels

Abstract

Study on Analysis of Lead (Pb) Heavy Metal in White Shrimp (P. merguiensis) on the Muara Badak Estuary was conducted in May until July 2016. This aims to determine how much the concentration of lead (Pb) heavy metals in water, sediment and white shrimp (P. merguiensis) in the Muara Badak estuary. The method is using purposive sampling at 3 stations namely, near the pier and the residents, the transportation lines near of fishermen and the transit of oil tankers. During the research the temperatures ranging between 29.705 ° C 30.025 ° C shows the range was quite good for the aquatic biota growth, pH ranged from 7.135 to 7.425 which included in the category of normal pH, salinity ranged from 3.64 to 22.415 ‰ which showed freshwater, TDS ranged 13300-2320 mg/L which included in the range of high and exceed the quality standards set, and DO range from 7.16 to 7.61 which included in the category of normal. Levels of lead (Pb) heavy metals were measured using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). The mean levels of lead (Pb) heavy metals in the water from Station 1 to Station 3 are 0.515, 0.273 and 0.216 mg/L which exceeds the quality standards specified by KMNLH no. 51 2004 was 0.008 mg/L, the average concentration of lead (Pb) heavy metals in sediment was 0.844, 0.758 and 0.835 mg/kg which is still safe because it is below the quality standard is 36 mg/kg and the average concentration of lead (Pb) heavy metals on white shrimp (P. merguiensis) is 0.534, 1.079 and 0.921 mg / kg which exceeded the quality standards set by BPOM RI in 2009 at 0.5 mg / kg.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine of the concentration of heavy metal Cd in water spinach plants and in the sediments as a its growth medium. The sampling is done at several locations of water spinach suppliers such as Benanga reservoirs, Asparagus Bengkuring and the rear outdoor area of FKESMAS Unmul. Cd contect was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS).The results showed that the content of Cadmium (Cd) in water spinach plants, which were taken from Benanga reservoir is 0.0022 ± 0.0003 mg Kg-1; Asparagus Bengkuring is 0.0021 ± 0.0004 mg Kg-1 ; the Rear outdoor area of FKESMAS Unmul is 0.0016 ± 0.0003 mg/kg and the average level of Cadmium in sediment, which were taken from reservoir Benanga is 0.442 ± 0.336 mg Kg-1; Asparagus Bengkuring is 0.513 ± 0.317 mg Kg-1; the Rear outdoor area of FKESMAS Unmul is 0.08 ± 0.039 mg Kg-1. The level of Cadmium in water spinach plant ranges from 0.0016 to 0.0022 mg Kg-1, which is under the limit determined by the BPOM (0.2 mg Kg-1). The level Cadmium in the plant is determined by the levels of heavy metals in sediment with regression coofficient 0.001X Y = 0.001x + 0.001) at significance level 0.008. The conclusion of this research is the levels of heavy metals in the water spinach plant originating from several suppliers locations in Samarinda meets the qualifications of hygienic vegetables set by BPOM. And, it also concluded that the level of heavy metals in water spinach is specified by the level of heavy metal in its sediment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effects of saccharin and dragon fruit juice on histopatologic of liver and kidney and determine the effective dose of dragon fruit juice to improve the cells of liver and kidney mice (Mus musculus L.) after fed saccharin. The study design used was completely randomized design (CRD). In this study, the independent variables consist of two control and three treated treatment with 5 replications. The histological data of liver and kidneys of mice (Mus musculus L.) presented descriptively,and evaluation of differences in the structure of the liver and kidney mikroanatomi saccharin and dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) be compared to normal structure. The results showed that administration of saccharin at a dose of 15mg/kg BB/day to given effect on the histopathology of kidney and liver of mice. Treatment of the red dragon fruit juice at a dose of 200mg/Kg BB/day may improve liver and kidney mikroanatomi structures damaged by the provision of saccharin. From this research, showed that the red dragon fruit juice swetened with saccharin can inhibition effects of on structure microanatomy the liver and kidney

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ethanol extract of stem Karamunting to improve pancreatic microanatomy structure diabetic mice. The study design used was completely randomized design (CRD which is consisting of negative group control, positive control, and the group treated with 100,250 and 500 mg/kg weigth body dose of karamunting stem extract for 28 days. Blood glucose levels in mice then measured using the blood sugar measuring device gluco meter (Nesco Multicheck) Measurements were taken on day 7 after administration of alloxan. On the 28th day, treatment three at a dose of 500 mg / kg / day showed that the pancreatic cells as the cells in the positive control (normal), whereas treatment 1 at a dose of 100 mg / kg / day and treatment 2 doses 250 mg / kg / day is equal to the negative control. The results showed that the sample extraction rod microanatomy Karamunting able to improve the structure of the pancreas of mice at a dose of 500 mg / kg / day.

Abstract

Makalah ini menyajikan perancangan dan realisasi pendeteksi kecepatan angin digital yang dikenal dengan Anemometer untuk sistem peringatan dini di rumah. Perangkat keras dirancang menggunakan mikrokontroler sebagai perangkat utama yang berfungsi untuk menghitung kecepatan angin. Perangkat ini menggunakan sensor rotary encoder yang berfungsi mengukur kecepatan angin. Perangkat antarmuka yang digunakan yaitu dot matrix, indikator LED, dan buzzer. Hasil pengujian menggunakan kipas angin menunjukkan Anemometer digital yang dirancang mampu mendeteksi kecepatan angin dengan baik dan memiliki kesalahan relatif sebesar 1,18% pada jarak 10 cm, 1,41% pada jarak 30 cm, 1,55% pada jarak 50 cm, dan 2,44% pada jarak 70 cm jika dibandingkan dengan Anemometer komersial. Hasil pengujian angin alami menunjukkan alat ini juga mampu mendeteksi kecepatan angin dengan rata-rata kesalahan relatif sebesar 21,21% dan 18,80% dibandingkan Anemometer BMKG pada dua hari berbeda. Nilai kesalahan relatif ini lebih besar jika dibandingkan dengan pengujian menggunakan angin buatan. Hal ini terjadi karena kondisi perubahan arah angin alami yang tiba-tiba tidak dapat terdeteksi alat ini. Namun demikian, perangkat ini berguna untuk peralatan rumah sebagai sistem peringatan dini.

Abstract

The empirical condition of character problem of young generation, especially among students, has become the main concern of Indonesia. Schools become a strategic place to seed good character and eliminate existing moral anomalies. Of the various programs and models of character education, student halaqah can be used as an alternative model. With various values of urgency and superiority, halaqah is considered effective for the formation of student character. This will be accomplished by sustained systematic management of halaqah covering program planning, team building, socialization, program implementation, guidance to evaluation and follow-up.

Abstract

Mandor Village has developed as a tradisional gold mining area since years ago. It involved activities that have led to extreme land condition and the release of mining residues, i.e., mercury, to the soils. The study examined the potential of soil bacteria as mercury bioremediation agent based on their population and activity in former mines with different ages. The bacterial population was measured by isolating soil bacteria on solid media using the pour plate method, and the colonies were enumerated during the incubation. The Nutrient Agar (NA) medium was used to obtain the total population, whereas the Salt Base Solution (SBS) was to determine the presence of mercury-tolerant bacteria. The addition of HgCl2 affected the number of the colonies. The colony only grew until the concentration of HgCl2 reached 5 mg/l, and the total colony was larger in older mines. The observation of bacterial activity showed that biotransformation performance was lower when the concentration of mercury was the same as its natural presence in soils (0.1-0.5 mg/l) compared with higher mercury level (1 mg/l). The research showed that lower mercury concentrations in nature reduced the natural ability of bacteria to transform pollutants. This study provides information that can assist the development of a technological approach to control mercury pollution in former traditional gold mines in an environmentally friendly manner using indigenous soil bacteria.

Abstract

This aim of the present work is to know the type and the number of contamination in drinking water refill from depot using Non-PDAM water resource in Samarinda City. The sample were obtained from five subdistricts such as North Samarinda, Sambutan, Palaran, Loa Janan Ilir and Samarinda Ilir. Identification of bacteria using PCA (Plate Count Agar) media, BA (Blood Agar) and MCA (Mac Conkey Agar). Potentially pathogenic colonies tested for biochemical include SIM (Sulfid Indol Motile), SC (Simon Citrate), MR (Methyl red), VP (Voges Proskauer), TSIA (Triple Sugar Iron Agar), Nitrate, Urea, PAA (Phenyl Alanin Agar) and Glucose of. The results show that there is bacterial contamination in drinking water refill from depot using Non-PDAM water resource such as genus Staphylococcus, Klebsiella and Acinetobacter. The number of bacterial contamination were found at least in samples C1 and C2 from Sambutan, sample D2 from Palaran and the most contamination number was found in sample A1 from North Samarinda.
