Abstract

This paper presents experimental and implementation of solar cell for alternative energy source of angkringan (traditional food stalls) in Yogyakarta province. The angkringan is a famous place among the stalls selling food and constantly visited by most of people. Implementation of solar cell has two functions, namely as a source of alternative energy for traditional food stalls and to keep a comfortable environment for fans culinary. Visitor feel comfort when they are not disturbed by smoke pollution outboard lamps and wood charcoal are usually used in the angkringan. The results show the resilience of solar cell can cover between 12 hours to 14 hours, and depending on the load used to turn other device besides substituting for wood charcoal and lighting. The tool resiliences are proportional to the operating time of food stall that usually requires lighting from 17:30 hours until 00:30 or more. Advantages of this tool also is with the mobile cart can make easier for entrepreneurs to find a strategic place for gaining benefit without relying on PLN power. With an affordable cost of solar cell can be applied to a food stall that could be an alternative solution to maintain a healthy and comfortable environment as well as getting the optimum benefit.

Abstract

Control system on the recycle process of markers ink aims to control charging ink on the recycle process of whiteboard markers ink. The process of opening the lid will automatically proceed with the charging process of whiteboard ink. The objectives of this tool are to control the time of ink charging using the solenoid. Solenoid control using the minimum system of microcontroller. The hardware consists of a circuit of microcontroller of ATmega16, driver of solenoid valve using L298 IC, push button, power supply and mechanics for opening and closing markers. It is expected this system can help the process of ink recharging automatically on the whiteboard markers. The performances of lever cap on the recycle process of markers ink show proper performance. The system can fill ink to the markers accordance with the planning. The volume of the markers ink with capacities of up to 25% with the ink discharge of 0,003 liters / second. The system has an average of percentage error of less than 2% of the measured voltage.

Abstract

This paper presents investigations into the development of neural network (NN) control of a two-link flexible robot manipulator with load 0.5 kg. A dynamic model of the system is derived using a combined Euler-Lagrange and assumed mode methods (AMM). The controller reduces nonlinearities problem that can be efficiently solved using NN control. The system responses namely hub angular position and deflection responses and end-point acceleration at both links are obtained and analysed. The performances of the controllers are assessed in terms of the input tracking controller capability of the system. Moreover, the robustness of the NN control schemes is discussed. Finally, a comparative assessment of the control strategies is presented. The results show that NN controller performs give increasing profiles that compared with PID control.

Abstract

This article clarify the development of instrument which is related with robotic based learning by using the Delphi methods. The Delphi method provides the chance for researchers to gather input from participants without demanding them to work face-to-face. Often, the process is used to find consensus among experts who have different opinions and observations. The Delphi method enables group problem-solving using an iterative process of problem definition, discussion, feedback, and revisions. This paper discussed the basics of the Delphi method, its application potential, the selection of expert panels and the means on how consensus can be reached among the participants and also the procedure to obtain the final criteria of robotic learning which is 67 from 188 initially.

Abstract

Murid Berkeperluan Khas (MBK) di sekolah menengah harian kurang mendapat peluang untuk mempelajari kemahiran vokasional  khususnya dalam bidang  pembuatan perabot kayu kerana ketidakupayaan murid dalam melakukan kerja-kerja pertukangan. Matlamat kajian ini adalah  untuk membangunkan Kit (Smart Cot) sebagai Alat Bantu Mengajar (ABM) bagi mata pelajaran baharu  iaitu Asas Pembuatan Perabot yang diperkenalkan oleh pihak Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia khusus kepada murid berkeperluan khas bagi Program Pendidikan Khas Intergasi (PPKI) tingkatan satu yang mengalami masalah pembelajaran. Reka bentuk kajian  ini menggunakan  kaedah  kualitatif  dengan menggunakan instrumen temubual, pemerhatian dan borang senarai semak kajiaan yang telah dijalankan sepanjang proses Pembelajaran Dan Pemudahcaraan (Pdpc) berlangsung dengan menggunakan Kit (Smart Cot) terhadap silibus Asas Pembuatan Perabot. Kajian ini melibatkan seramai 9 orang murid PPKI sebagai responden kajian, khususnya murid dalam bidang pertukangan perabot kayu di sebuah sekolah menengah kebangsaan harian di Selangor. Kajian kes digunakan oleh penyelidik kerana mampu melampaui kuantatif, keputusan statistik dan memahami keadaan sifat daripada pelbagai perspektif. Kesemua elemen akan dinilai berdasarkan proses perlaksanaan temu bual, pemerhatian dan borang senarai semak responden kajian. Maka maklumat yang dikumpul adalah dalam bentuk ayat ataupun perkataan. Penyelidik mencadangkan supaya ABM kit (Smart Cot) ini digunakan oleh guru dalam proses Pdpc bagi silibus Asas Pembuatan Perabot kepada murid berkeperluan khas agar dapat meningkatkan prestasi pencapaian dan penguasaan kemahiran pertukangan perabot kayu. Kata kunci :  Pendidikan khas, perabot kayu, asas pembuatan perabot dan alat bantu mengajar

Abstract

Interactive learning media facilitate students to be understand and comprehend certain contents of engineering subjects. Therefore, this study aimed to develop e-instructional multimedia for students in the subject of basic electronics and electricity using adobe flash CS 5.5. This subject was selected to support the teaching-learning process at the Vocational Secondary Schools. There were five stages during the development of the learning media, including (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation (ADDIE). Furthermore, 30 students in total were selected to test the media practicability. The results revealed that this multimedia is acceptable based on five criteria: creativity, affectivity, efficiency, interestingly, and interactivity with the scores of 76.8, 76.8, 71.5, 77.4, and 74.4 respectively. This study suggested the implementation of the e-instructional multimedia for further understanding its empirical application.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Paper ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa rangkaian sistem kendali putaran motor menggunakan Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) atau Thyristor. Eksperimen sistem kendali putaran motor ini menggunakan dua rangkaian yang berbeda. Rangkaian pertama menggunakan dua sumber, yaitu sumber tegangan DC 12 v terhubung dengan motor universal secara seri dengan resistor dan SCR, sedangkan sumber tegangan DC variabel 0 sampai 1.5 v dihubung paralel dengan kapasitor dan resistor. Rangkaian kedua menggunakan satu sumber tegangan AC 5 v yang dihubungkan dengan saklar dan motor. Pada rangkaian kedua ini motor dihubungkan dengan potensio, SCR, dioda serta kapasitor yang dipasang paralel dengan sumber tegangan AC. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan dalam rangkaian menggunakan sumber tegangan DC, motor DC akan berputar saat saklar S1 tertutup. Kondisi motor akan berputar lebih cepat ketika sumber tegangan variabel diatur lebih besar dari 0 v sehingga arus gate Ig lebih bear dari 400 mA. Adapun Eksperimen dengan sumber tegangan AC, motor akan berputar dengan menambahkan dioda D3 dan pengaturan kecepatan melalui potensio meter Rv sampai posisi maksimum. Kata kunci: analisa, motor DC, SCR, sistem kendali ABSTRACT The objective of this study is to analyse the circuit of DC motor control system using Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) or Thyristor. In this experiment the circuit of control system for the motor using two different circuits. The first circuit using two sources, the 12 v DC voltage is connected to universal motor and series with a resistor and SCR, while the DC variable voltage source of 0 to 1.5 v connected in parallel to the capacitor and resistor. The second circuit uses a single source of 5 V AC voltage connected to the switch and the motor. In the second circuit, the motor is connected to the potentio meter, SCR, diode and capacitor in parallel with the AC voltage source. The experimental results showed the circuit using a DC voltage source impacted the DC motor rotated after the switch S1 is closed then the motor rotated more faster when the variable voltage source is set greater than 0 v then the gate current Ig will be greater than 400 mA. The AC voltage source rotated the DC motor, when inserted the diode D3 to control the motor rotation using potentio meter. The motor can be stopped by minimising Rv. Abstract

A very challenging problem in mobile robot systems is mostly in obstacle avoidance strategies. This study aims to describe how the obstacle avoidance system on mobile robots works. This system is designed automatically using fuzzy logic control (FLC) developed using Matlab to help the mobile robots to avoid a head-on collision. The FLC designs were simulated on the mobile robot system. The simulation was conducted by comparing FLC performance to the proportional integral derivative (PID) controller. The simulation results indicate that FLC works better with lower settling time performance. To validate the results, FLC was used in a mobile robot system. It shows that FLC can control the velocity by braking or accelerating according to the sensor input installed in front of the mobile robot. The FLC control system functions as ultrasonic sensor input or a distance sensor. The input voltage was simulated with the potentiometer, whereas the output was shown by the velocity of DC motor. This study employed the simulation work in Simulink and Matlab, while the experimental work used laboratory scale of mobile robots. The results show that the velocity control of DC motors with FLC produces accurate data, so the robot could avoid the existing obstacles. The findings indicate that the simulation and the experimental work of FLC for mobile robot in obstacle avoidance are very close.
