Abstract

This study seeks to evaluate the physico-chemical properties of tofu waste silage with the inclusion of refined rice bran and chestnut tannins as additives. This study employed an experimental method using a completely randomized design, comprising four treatments and five replications. The treatments included are T1: Fresh Tofu Waste (FTW as control), T2: FTW + 5% fine rice bran (DM basis), T3: FTW + 1% chestnut tannin (DM basis), and T4: FTW + 5% fine rice bran + 1% chestnut tannin (DM basis). The variables measured were temperature, humidity, pH, mold growth, aroma, texture, color, and dry matter loss. The data collected were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Duncan's multiple range test was applied at a 5% significance level to assess significant differences between treatments. The findings revealed that the inclusion of fine rice bran and chestnut tannin had a significant impact (P<0.05) on the temperature, humidity, pH, mold growth, aroma, texture, color, and dry matter loss of fresh tofu waste silage. In conclusion, the addition of 5% fine rice bran and 1% chestnut tannin resulted in tofu waste silage with superior physico-chemical quality, as evidenced by the lowest dry matter loss compared to the other treatments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi optimalisasi penggunaan pakan berbasis limbah pertanian dalam meningkatkan produktivitas ternak ruminansia di pedesaan. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui studi literatur, penelitian ini mengumpulkan dan menganalisis berbagai sumber yang berkaitan dengan pemanfaatan limbah pertanian sebagai pakan ternak. Limbah pertanian, seperti jerami, dedak, dan sisa sayuran, memiliki potensi besar untuk dijadikan pakan yang bergizi dan ekonomis bagi ruminansia. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan pakan berbasis limbah pertanian tidak hanya dapat mengurangi biaya pakan, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada keberlanjutan lingkungan dengan mengurangi limbah. Selain itu, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa penerapan teknologi pengolahan pakan yang tepat dapat meningkatkan nilai nutrisi dari limbah pertanian tersebut. Implementasi strategi pemberdayaan peternak melalui pelatihan dan penyuluhan juga dianggap penting untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam pengelolaan pakan berbasis limbah. Dengan demikian, optimalisasi penggunaan pakan berbasis limbah pertanian diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas ternak ruminansia serta mendukung ketahanan pangan di pedesaan.

Abstract

At the local level, student entrepreneurship management at Syiah Kuala University (USK) faces problems that align with these global challenges. This community service activity, a sharing session on student entrepreneurship management at Universitas Syiah Kuala, aimed to enhance the capacity of entrepreneurship program managers in integrating technology and innovation. Using the service learning method, participants were introduced to digital platforms and business management tools. The session involved collaborative efforts from various departments, focusing on improving the understanding and skills of the participants. Data collection included pre- and post-tests, showing a significant increase in participant competence. The results indicate that this approach is effective and can be replicated for broader applications, contributing to SDGs by promoting inclusive economic growth and supporting young entrepreneurs.

Abstract

The rapid development of Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology has transformed the global financial and entrepreneurial landscape, posing both opportunities and challenges for young entrepreneurs. This community service activity aimed to enhance the digital literacy and innovation capacity of 100 student entrepreneurs from Universitas Syiah Kuala by introducing practical applications of Agentic AI in financial technology and business development. The activity was conducted in the form of an online workshop, utilizing a service-learning approach, and facilitated by an expert in information systems. The program included knowledge transfer, case studies, and interactive discussions on the implementation of Agentic AI in business decision-making, financial automation, and digital trust. The results showed significant improvement in participants understanding and readiness to adopt such technologies, with marked increases in awareness, interest, and motivation toward innovation. This activity demonstrates an effective model for supporting inclusive entrepreneurship and accelerating the achievement of sustainable development goals through technological empowerment.

Abstract

Peternakan intensif telah menjadi salah satu penyumbang utama pencemaran lingkungan, terutama akibat pengelolaan limbah yang kurang tepat dalam kegiatan peternakan. Studi ini mengeksplorasi praktik pengelolaan limbah di peternakan sebagai solusi yang layak untuk mengurangi degradasi lingkungan. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan tinjauan literatur, penelitian ini mensintesis berbagai studi yang ada mengenai strategi pengelolaan limbah serta efektivitasnya dalam menurunkan tingkat polusi yang terkait dengan sistem peternakan intensif. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan sistem pengelolaan limbah yang komprehensif—seperti komposting, produksi biogas, dan daur ulang nutrisi—dapat secara signifikan menurunkan jejak ekologis dari kegiatan peternakan. Selain itu, studi ini menyoroti pentingnya kerangka regulasi dan edukasi kepada peternak dalam mendorong praktik berkelanjutan di industri ini. Dengan mengadopsi teknologi inovatif dan praktik terbaik dalam pembuangan serta pengolahan limbah, para peternak tidak hanya dapat meningkatkan produktivitas, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap upaya pelestarian lingkungan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan mengenai solusi pengelolaan limbah yang efektif dan dapat diterapkan oleh para pemangku kepentingan di sektor pertanian untuk menghadapi tantangan lingkungan yang mendesak.
