Abstract

Tidak dapat dipungkiri, hingga kini pun guru-guru dipandang tetap sebagai orator verbalist dalam pembelajaran, termasuk pembelajaran sains. Mengacu pada fenomena para guru yang cenderung stagnan sebagai orator verbalist, perlu upaya-upaya yang mampu mengubah peran guru tersebut menjadi guru yang memiliki kemampuan menciptakan suasana dan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif. Untuk memenuhi hal tersebut, Semiawan (1991) mengemukakan bahwa “Pemenuhan persyaratan guru profesional akan mengubah peran guru yang semula sebagai orator yang verbalistis menjadi yang berkekuatan dinamis dalam menciptakan suatu suasana dan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif”. Suasana dan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif seperti apa yang dapat diciptakan untuk pembelajaran sains tentu tidak terbatas atau dengan kata lain beragam, tetapi dalam salah satu sudut pandang, misalnya dalam sudut pandang ‘konteks’, siswa akan lebih tepat jika mengoptimalkan local genius, kearifan lokal atau keunggulan lokal. Akan tetapi justru nilai-nilai yang dianut oleh masyarakat lokal yang penuh dengan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal diabaikan dalam berbagai pembelajaran, termasuk pembelajaran sains maupun fisika di sekolah (Suastra, 2005). Untuk itulah, dalam makalah ini dibicarakan tentang pembelajaran sains berbasis kearifan lokal mengacu pada “Landasan Yuridis Pendidikan Berbasis Keunggulan Lokal” dalam upaya mengembalikannya sebagai modal berharga dalam pembelajaran agar belajar dan mengajar sains menjadi lebih bermakna.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian mengembangkan tes yang berorientasi pada keterampilan argumentasi.  Instrumen tes digunakan untuk memetakan kemampuan argumentasi siswa dan pemahaman siswa tentang argumentasi.  Instrumen tes berorientasi pada argumentasi dikembangkan berdasarkan skema argumentasi Toulmin.  Populasi penelitian adalah siswa SMA kelas XI Kota Bandar Lampung.   Sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling untuk 37 siswa. Berdasarkan perhitungan dan analisis statistik item konten tiap elemen perlu diperbaharui lagi dan divalidasi oleh ahli argumentasi ilmiah dan ahli konten materi.  Hasil pengembangan tes argumentasi ilmiah ini menjadi landasan untuk menyusun instrumen tes yang lebih lengkap sehingga dapat mengukur semua struktur pendukung komponen argumentasi.

Abstract

The practical guide is a teaching material that students use in labwork activities. This learning cycle 5E (Engangement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, Evaluation) on practical guide is expected to be used as an alternative choice for teacher in improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes in concept of pressure and symptoms of capillarity in plants. The aim of this study was : 1) to describe the feasibility of develop practical guide based on learning cycle 5E and 2) to analyse the improvement of the practical guide based on learning cycle 5E to enhance cognitive learning outcomes of eight graders of junior high school in science lesson. Here, we used the Research and Development refers to the procedural steps of the 4D models by Thiagarajan. To test the efficacy, pretest and posttest were employed.This is a quasi-experiment research conducted in MTsN 3 Ngawi. Research subjects were all students of grade 8 by taking class 8A as the experimental class and 8B as the control class. Samples were taken by cluster sampling technique. The result of the feasibility test showed that practical guide included in the excellent category. T-test analysis suggests that the practical guide based on learning cycle 5E could improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes significantly. In addition to contributing to the improvement of students’ cognitive learning outcomes in MTsn 3 ngawi, the development of science cycle-based learning guide based on learning cycle 5e can also provide students practice skills in learning so that it is expected to contribute posotif in the community.

Abstract

This research aims at describing the 2013 Curriculum implementation for science learning on the planning, classroom implementation, and assessment stages, as well as the obstacles faced by teachers and their efforts to overcome them. This qualitative research was by involving Grade 4 teachers, students, and the principal of a primary school in Yogyakarta as the research subjects. The research object was the activities carried out in the curriculum implementation. The data collection instruments include observation sheets, interview guidelines, questionnaires, and analysis guidelines. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The data validity was tested using triangulation techniques. The research found that the planning stage include studying the syllabus and teacher’s books then outlining the steps of the activities with the scientific approach; the teachers had integrated the science learning with other subjects under a theme; and the scientific approach was employed through observing, questioning, experimenting, associating/reasoning, and communicating. However, the overall implementation of the 2013 Curriculum had not been optimal yet. The teachers had used authentic assessment to assess the students' attitudes, knowledge, and skills, but they rarely used assessment instruments and rubrics. The obstacles faced by teachers were in the planning, classroom implementation, and assessment stages.

Abstract

This article explains the development of interactive multimedia which is designed using e-learning. The development technique uses ADDIE model which consists of some stages namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The trial subjects in this study were 13 students of Physics Education Department in Universitas Papua who programed basic physics courses in the even semester of 2018-2019. Interactive multimedia validity was obtained based on an assessment sheet filled by 7 validators consisting of material expert validators, media experts and practitioners. Meanwhile, the effectivity and practicality of interactive multimedia was obtained based on the students’ responses after learning. The instrument used in this study was the validation sheet filled out by the validators and questionnaire about students’ responses after learning. The technique used to analyze the results of the validator's assessment was V Aiken while the questionnaire analysis used Rasch model. The results showed that the developed learning media were in the valid category for each aspect of the assessment, namely layout, navigation, functions, and pedagogy aspects. Moreover, students’ responses towards interactive multimedia used were also effective and practical in every aspect of assessment. Students gave good responses towards HOTS abilities that could be developed during learning, including the ability to analyze, evaluate, and create. Therefore, online interactive multimedia oriented to HOTS through e-learning can be applied in physics lesson.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the effectivity of students’ worksheet based on multiple representation in order to increase creative thinking skills for second years students of junior high school. It used quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research was students of class VII SMPN 3 Langsa, academic year of 2017/2018. Then, the samples were students of class VII-1 and VII-2 elected using simple random sampling method. Basically, the effectivity can be seen from students’ creative thinking skills analyzed by using average n-gain and independent sample T test. Furthermore, the result showed that there was an average difference for n-gain and significant score between control class and experiment class. Therefore, the students’ worksheet based on multiple representations can be used for increasing creative thinking skills of students.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pengaruh Subject Specific Pedagogy (SSP) tematikdalam pembelajaran terhadap karakter sikap hormat dan tanggung jawab siswa. Penelitian merupa-kan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan nonequivalent groups pretest-posttest design. Populasi penelitianini adalah seluruh siswa kelas III di SDN 007 Pangkalan Kerinci Kabupaten Pelalawan tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling. Dari lima rombongan belajar dipilihsecara acak sehingga didapat tiga kelas sebagai sampel penelitian. Pengumpulan data dengan teknikobservasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji perpasangan (paired t- tes)dan uji beda Independen T- tes dengan taraf signifikansi 5% atau 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini adalah SSPtematik secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap karakter sikap hormat siswa dibandingkan de-ngan pembelajaran tematik yang tidak menggunakan SSP tematik diperoleh sig α yaitu sig= 0,000 α= 0,05 dengan t= 10,519; dan karakter tanggung jawab siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran te-matik diperoleh sig α yaitu sig= 0,000 α= 0,05 dengan t= 8,442. Kata Kunci: subject specific pedagogy tematik, sikap hormat, tanggung jawab THE EFFECT OF THEMATIC SUBJECT SPECIFIC PEDAGOGY ON THE CHARACTER  OF RESPECT AND RESPONSIBILITY OF GRADE III PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS Abstract: This study aimed at describing the influence of thematic Subject Specific Pedagogy (SSP) learn-ing on the students’ character of respect and responsibility. The research was a quasi-experimentalstudy with pretest-posttest nonequivalent groups design. The population of the study was the wholethird grade students at SDN 007 Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan in the academic year 2013/2014. Thesample was selected by a simple random sampling technique. A sample of three classes were selectedrandomly from the five study groups available. Data collection was done by observation and interviewtechniques.Data analysis technique used was pairing test (paired t-test) and the Independentdifferent test T-test with a significance level of 5% or 0.05. The results of this study showed that thematicSSP learning had a significantly better effect on the character of  respect compared with thematiclearning of the  students who did not use thematic SSP, with a significnace value  sig α ie sig = 0,000α= 0.05 t= 10.519; and had significantly better character of responsibility compared with those withoutusingthematicSSPwithasignificancevaluesigαiesig=0,000α=0.05t=8.442.Keywords:subject-specificpedagogythematic,respect,responsibility

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan lingkungan sekitar sebagai sumber belajar terhadap berpikir kreatif pada pembelajaran tematik integrative siswa kelas IV SD. Penelitian dilakukan di SDN Warureja 01 dan SDN Warureja 02 Kabupaten Tegal. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi observasi, lembar validasi ahli dan lembar tes berpikir kreatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi-eksperiment dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Uji normalitas dilakukan dengan metode Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan uji homogenitas data menggunakan Box’M test. Data dianalisis dengan pengujian hipotesis yaitu uji beda rata-rata univariat menggunakan independent sample t-test dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pemanfaatan lingkungan sekitar sebagai sumber belajar berpengaruh terhadap berpikir kreatif dengan nilai signifikansi 0,037 0.05.AbstractThis study aimed to know the Effect of the Surrounding Environment as a Learning Resource on Creative Thinking to the 4th Grade Students of State Elementary Schools. in integrative thematic learning of the fourth grade of State Elementary Schools. The study was conducted at SDN Warureja 01 and SDN Warureja 02 Tegal Regency. The research instruments used included observation, expert validation sheets, and creative thinking test sheets. The type of research used was quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest design nonequivalent control group design. The Data were analyzed by hypothesis testing beginning with univariate mean difference test using independent sample t-test with a 5% significance level. The results showed that: the utilization of the surrounding environment as a source of learning approach affects the creative thinking, the significance level of 0,037 0.05.

Abstract

Abstract: This study set out to examine the effectiveness of project-based science learning towards pre-service teachers literacy skills and learning creativity in wave and optical materials. This quasi-experimental study involved 115 students of Primary Teacher Education Program, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta.  Direct and in-depth data dissemination techniques were used in this study. The aspects of creative thinking abilities include fluency, authenticity, elaboration, and flexibility. Mann Withney U test was used to test the hypothesis, while the N-Gain test was performed to determine the pre-service teachers improvement in scientific literacy skills and creative thinking. Both qualitative and quantitative data analyses were performed in this study. The results showed that: 1) material and optical tools–based learning activities are appropriate for the pre-service teachers scientific literacy skills and creative thinking. The correct answer term includes the highest average probability statistics from other subindicators; 2) aspects of science that are used in the aspects of literacy is in good category but the originality aspect in its ability needs to be developed and processed continuously. Keywords: science literacy skill, creative thinking skill, project based learning, waves and optics PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN SAINS BERBASIS PROYEK TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN LITERASI ILMU DAN PEMIKIRAN KREATIF CALON GURU  Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur keefektifan pembelajaran sains berbasis proyek terhadap keterampilan literasi dan kreativitas belajar dalam materi gelombang dan optik. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen semu. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 115 siswa semester Program Pendidikan Guru Pratama, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Teknik penyebaran data langsung dan mendalam. Aspek kemampuan berpikir kreatif meliputi kelancaran, keaslian, elaborasi, dan fleksibilitas. Untuk menentukan besarnya peningkatan keterampilan literasi sains dan siswa berpikir kreatif digunakan N-Gain Test hipotesis menggunakan tes Mann Withney U. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis material dan alat optik sesuai untuk keterampilan literasi sains dan pemikiran kreatif siswa. Istilah jawaban yang benar mencakup statistik probabilitas rata-rata tertinggi dari subindikator lainnya; 2) aspek ilmu yang digunakan dalam aspek literasi dalam aspek yang baik tetapi aspek orisinalitas dalam kemampuannya perlu dikembangkan dan diolah terus- menerus. Kata kunci: keterampilan literasi sains, keterampilan berpikir kreatif, pembelajaran berbasis proyek, gelombang dan optik

Abstract

In the context of teacher professional development and teacher certification, an objective measurement of teachers’ Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) is requried. This research is a case study to measure teachers’ PCK within prospective middle school science teachers participating in an Indonesian teacher professional development program. The study used quantitative approach which involved multirater assessment analysed by Many-Facet Rasch Model (MFRM) to assess teachers’ PCK in teaching a specific topic, i.e. “The Particulate Nature of Matter” (PNM). Researchers developed a rubric for items to measure teachers’ enactment PCK for teaching that specific topic. The MFRM analysis of the data revealed item reliability, item validity, separation and unidimensionality fall within good category. The findings show prospective teachers need to improve their PCK specifically in terms of “knowledge of instructional strategies and representations for teaching science” dimension. However, for knowledge of science curriculum and knowledge of students’ understanding in science dimension, the findings show that the participants were competent.
