Abstract

Successful learning is determined by various factors involved in it. These factors are not only derived from the personal individuals involved themselves, but also are the result of collaboration between human resources and other resources in the same context. This study tries to explore the factors that determine a person's success in science learning. The study is conducted by identifying the attributes that are considered important in the learning process. Those involved in this study numbered 65 respondents who acted as teachers, educators, tutors, or lecturers who taught and focused on science materials. The method used is a thematic analysis approach that specifically categorizes the themes that are considered important and becomes the initial indicator in determining the success of learning. The results of the study show that a success in the learning process of science depends on the aspects in it including good collaboration between students and teachers, self-management, methods used in learning, applied evaluation strategies, as well as external factors which are not directly determines the success of learning such as the cultural, social, and environmental context in which the individual grows and develops.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the attitudes and knowledge possessed by an academician in making an article in accordance to the ethical code of scientific research. There were 116 participants involved in this study. The research method was carried out through two stages, the first stage is test descriptive statistics psychological description of the attitude and knowledge of subjects about the use of Turnitin and citation techniques and the second stage is conducting exploration using an open questionnaire. The results showed: the subject frequency was still very low in using this media;  there was a linear correlation between the low intensity of use and the attitude they have in the writing process; and the use of Turnitin media and the citation techniques was important.

Abstract

Character education is an inseparable part of the program of strengthening and improving the quality of education in various aspects of life. Character education is manifested in a variety of activities and conditions that allow each school to be able to optimize the cognitive abilities of children in addition to strengthening their morals and character as a whole. Each school has advantages and good mechanisms that support the implementation of the character education program the study was conducted to explore and obtain a picture of best practices carried out by leading schools implementing the character education strengthening program (PPK). Qualitative research with a collective case study design is used in this study. There are 3 excellent schools that become research locus with 18 respondents who involved as research participants selected using purposive sampling. Exploration was implemented using the interview method, focus group discussion, and direct observation. The results showed that the implementation of character education conducted at the three schools was very effective because it was supported by various policies, concrete actions, and the consistency and seriousness of the school in supporting the program. The best practices that might be used as a model by other schools include praying together, conducting joint worship routines, rotating cults, conducting environmental love programs, literacy, and cultural love programs

Abstract

 Student’s school well-being is one of the factors that determine the extent to which the quality of education can be felt effectively by all individuals in it. The concept of wellbeing arises because of the overall collaboration and mutual support among the elements of education in schools. One of the factors that contribute to the student’s school wellbeing is academic integrity. Academic integrity refers to the tendency of students to behave as the values of truth that they believe in and in accordance with the demands of the environment. This study aims to examine the influence and contribution of academic integrity to the well-being of students at school. The quantitative research design by testing of regression assumptions was carried out in this study. The subjects involved in this study amounted to 186 participants by being selected based on the random sampling method. The results of the study indicate that academic integrity moderately influences the well-being of students at school. This assumes that personal factors such as academic integrity are needed to support the quality of effective learning, because learning outcomes depend on how the mental and psychological conditions of the students themselves.Abstrak Kesejahteraan siswa di sekolah menjadi salah satu faktor yang menentukan sejauhmana kualitas pendidikan itu bisa dirasakan efektif oleh seluruh individu yang ada di dalamnya. Kesejahteraan muncul karena adanya kolaborasi yang menyeluruh dan saling mendukung di antara elemen pendidikan di sekolah. Salah satu faktor yang ikut berperan terhadap kesejahteraan siswa di sekolah adalah integritas akademik. Integritas akademik mengacu kepada kecenderungan siswa untuk bersikap dan bertingkah laku sebagaimana nilai kebenaran yang mereka yakini dan sesuai dengan tuntutan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh dan kontribusi integritas akademik terhadap kesejahteraan siswa di sekolah. Desain penelitian kuantitatif dengan pengujian asumsi regresi dilakukan dalam penelitian ini. Subjek yang terlibat dalam penelitian berjumlah 186 partisipan dengan dipilih berdasarkan metode random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integritas akademik secara moderat mempengaruhi kesejahteraan siswa di sekolah. Hal ini mengasumsikan bahwa faktor personal seperti integritas akademik dibutuhkan dalam menunjang kualitas pembelajaran yang efektif, karena hasil belajar itu tergantung pada bagaimana kondisi mental dan psikologis siswa itu sendiri

Abstract

Keberhasilan dalam sebuah proses pembelajaran ditentukan oleh penggunaan media dan teknologi yang sesuai. Model Tes Berbasis Komputer Moodle merupakan suatu strategi evaluasi yang digunakan untuk menentukan kapasitas dan kompetensi siswa lebih cepat dan lebih efisien. Studi deskriptif dilakukan terhadap 122 mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah metodologi penelitian dengan menggunakan program tersebut. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat banyak perbedaan secara statistik dengan menggunakan pendekatan klasik. Selain itu, analisis dengan menggunakan Model Rasch juga tidak banyak berbeda dengan analisis sebelumnya tetapi Model Rasch ini mampu melihat secara spesifik persentase kemampuan siswa dengan aitem, beserta aktivitas menebak jawaban tertentu. Skor dalam koefisien reliabilitas dan properti psikometri lainnya mengasumsikan bahwa model berbasis komputer ini efektif untuk melihat sejauhmana perubahan-perubahan dalam pembelajaran itu dapat dilihat. Hal lainnya yang juga ditemukan adalah bahwa faktor kesiapan dan pengetahuan siswa dalam menggunakan program komputer ini sama pentingnya dalam mendorong dan meningkatkan program dan kualitas pendidikan dengan model berbasis komputer ini.

Abstract

The creation of education in accordance with the mandate of the law is a matter that must be built with the hard work and cooperation of all the important elements in Indonesia's national education system today. A good education system is created when the school is led by a competent and creative principal, as well as those who are able to foster good relationships with teachers at the school. In addition, teachers with appropriate personalities and competencies will support the creation of a good learning environment and encourage their students to actively perform and make them personal. This study aims to provide clear information about the importance of collaboration among elements of educational support. The study used a mixed case study methodology, an open questionnaire, and a descriptive statistical analysis of 173 subjects consisting of two principals, 43 teachers, and 130 students. The results of case studies explain how the role of principals is crucial in shaping the character and performance of schools, especially with regard to their leadership style and creativity. While the analysis of open questionnaires categorizes that students expect to become dream teachers are those who are able to become partners, those who have the competence, and those who are experienced. The role of the principal, the presence of a qualified teacher, and the similarity of students' perceptions to their school will result in a collaboration that is mutually supportive of one another.

Abstract

The urgency of Merdeka Belajar policy is certainly a challenge for teachers to carry out the learning process in schools. This policy makes teachers have to independently find methods and ways of learning that suit the situation in school. This study aims to explore teachers' perceptions regarding Merdeka Belajar policy that will be applied today. A mixed research design was used in this study by involving thematic content analysis to get an overview of teachers' perceptions about the implementation of Merdeka Belajar policy at schools. Then the researcher tested the extent of the teacher's readiness to use a portfolio instrument which was an implementation of Merdeka Belajar. This study involved 30 teachers who received a set of open-ended questionnaires, conducted the FGD process, and filled out a portfolio assessment questionnaire. The results showed that the majority of teachers considered Merdeka Belajar policy to be an effective alternative in providing instruction to students in accordance with the resources owned by the school. However, technically, teachers feel the need to be given structured socialization, clear guidance, and freedom based on the abilities and personalities of teachers in schools. In addition, the percentage of portfolio instruments usage seems to have been widely practiced in learning activities.

Abstract

Employees are an essential asset for the organization to advance and develop the organization to be more productive. This situation may achieve when employees in the organization have optimal performance. Many factors positively affect the performance of employees in the organization. This study aims to determine how much influence organizational commitment, work motivation and work discipline have on employee performance in PT. PLN (Persero) P3b Sumatera UPT Padang. Respondents who were involved in the study were 60 people who were selected using the saturated sample technique. The results showed that both partially and simultaneously, organizational commitment, work motivation, and work discipline had a significant and positive effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination of the tested variables is .636. It shows that the percentage contribution of the variable organizational commitment, work motivation and work discipline to employee performance is 64.6%. In comparison, the remaining 35.4%  determined by other variables not analyzed in this study's model. Thus, this study shows that the three tested variables must be an essential consideration for the organization to obtain optimal employee performance.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that influence the occurrence of boredom of learning among Santri in a boarding school in Garut. Then, the researcher continuously tested the relationship of the factors that were assumed to be related variables including character strength, Islamic religiosity and ethnic identity which were considered to be contributive variables that determined the occurrence of boredom learning in Santri. The mixed method research was carried out using thematic content analysis to obtain comprehensive information about boredom learning that occurred in Santri through an open questionnaire. Meanwhile, the partial correlation technique is used to identify how strong the relationship between predetermined factors is. The results of the study of 60 respondents who were selected by purposive technique sampling showed that the factors that caused the students to feel bored included the limited accessibility of leaving the pesantren, not being able to gather with their families, some programs that did not work and the learning process was monotonous. Meanwhile, the factors that cause students to survive are due to the dominant strength of character for studying religious knowledge, the emergence of the notion that pesantren is a good place to develop themselves and the amount of social support from peers. Meanwhile, there is a relationship between the strength of the character being tested, namely creativity, curiosity and persistence with Islamic religiousness (r = .3, p = 1%). Other results indicate that culture becomes a partial variable that has a direct effect on Islamic religiousness and character strengths.Keywords: ethnic identity; boredom learning; character strengths; Islamic religiousness; SantriAbstrak: Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk melakukan eksplorasi terhadap faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap terjadinya kejenuhan belajar pada santri di salah satu pondok pesantren di Garut. Kemudian, peneliti menguji secara berkelanjutan hubungan dari faktor-faktor yang diasumsikan menjadi variabel terkait meliputi kekuatan karakter, religiusitas Islam dan identitas suku yang dianggap menjadi variabel kontributif yang menentukan terjadinya kejenuhan belajar pada santri tersebut. Metode penelitian campuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis konten tematik untuk mendapatkan informasi komprehensif tentang situasi kejenuhan belajar yang terjadi pada santri melalui kuesioner terbuka. Sementara itu, teknik korelasi parsial digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi seberapa kuat keterkaitan dari faktor-faktor yang sudah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian dari 60 responden yang dipilih dengan purposive technique sampling menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang menyebabkan santri merasa bosan diantaranya yakni terbatasnya aksesibilitas keluar pesantren, tidak bisa berkumpul dengan keluarga, program ada yang tidak jalan dan proses pembelajaran yang monoton. Sedangkan faktor yang menyebabkan santri bisa bertahan karena adanya kekuatan karakter yang dominan untuk mempelajari ilmu agama, munculnya anggapan bahwa pesantren adalah tempat yang baik dalam mengembangkan diri serta banyaknya dukungan sosial dari teman sebaya. Sementara itu, terdapat hubungan dari kekuatan karakter yang diujikan yaitu kreativitas, keingintahuan dan ketekunan dengan religiusitas Islam (r = .3, p = 1 %). Abstract

This study aimed to see whether there is an influence of school principal leadership, organizational culture, and teacher competence on teacher performance. Another aim was to see how much influence these factors have on teacher performance either partially or simultaneously. The research used a quantitative approach with survey methods. Analysis of the data used was multiple regression. Participants involved in the study were 385 teachers in Bandung high school by using proportional stratified random sampling. The results of the study showed that there was a significant influence on the school principal leadership variables, organizational culture, and teacher competence on teacher performance. Statistically the amount of contribution from all independent variables was 68.12%, so the remaining 32.88% was determined by other variables not measured in the study. This research was also useful to find out the factors that can improve teacher performance, so that it is expected to be a theoretical or practical consideration in schools in order to improve the quality of teachers and schools.
