Abstract

Agriculture takes an important role for economy by more than 14% of economic contribution. Nevertheless, it has indirective effects, where it has commonly a negative impact, but somehow in the long term, offers a better environmental service. This study, therefore, aimed to evaluate both impact by estimating the Indonesia food barn to estimate how far the impact to environment through the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC). In order to improve the environmental quality in the long term, the sustainable practices through ecolabelling product have to be conducted. Thus, the evaluation of consumers’ WTP for ecolabelling product has been observed through 300 respondents depicting their preferences. Following by AHP analysis to construct the priority of strategies to develop the sustainable agriculture. Based on the results, EKC model showed it initially leads to environmental damage, but at a certain level, people begin to increase environmental awareness by a decrease of methane (CH4) about 0.12%. It is proved by their WTP where 82.6% respondents were willing to pay for ecolabelling product. Finally, to support sustainable agriculture, reforming the market access is a top priority (0.312 points) which aimed to progressively encourage the farmers’ supply. Otherwise, the pricing strategy becomes the consumers’ main perspective to buy (0.264 points).

Abstract

Coffee farming demands substantial amounts of fertilizer. Furthermore, the expensive cost of chemical fertilizers prompt coffee growers to seek alternative remedies. One emerging solution is the utilization of organic fertilizer. This study aims to assess the impact of organic fertilizer, specifically made from rabbit manure and urine, on the growth of Arabica and Robusta coffee seedlings. The experiment focused on the context of coffee cultivation in Temanggung Regency, comparing the effects with goat manure fertilizer. The method was initiated by producing organic fertilizer, encompassing rabbit manure, goat manure, and rabbit urine. Then, the fertilizer was applied to Arabica and Robusta seedlings. The research employs quantitative and descriptive analyses. Quantitative data encompasses the nutrient content of each fertilizer and soil, plant height, leaves number, and stem diameter. Descriptive analysis involves the overall performance evaluation. The application of rabbit manure and urine as fertilizers to Arabica and Robusta coffee seedlings yields positive outcomes, i.e. enhancing plant height, leaves number, and seedling diameter. Among the tested organic fertilizers, rabbit urine notably influenced the plant height, leaves number, and stem diameter of both seedlings. The performance of the rabbit urine treatment exhibited healthier attributes compared to those without any fertilizer, such as sturdy leaves and robust stems. Additionally, the root systems of the untreated plants appear less vigorous with sparser root hairs.

Abstract

The Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method is a well-known and widely utilized approach for decision-making in various disciplines. The SAW method involves a step-by-step process that enables decision-makers to evaluate and rank alternatives based on their respective attribute values and assigned weights. Within this context, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive exploration of SAW for decision-making. This study demonstrates the utilization of the SAW method in supplier selection, which aims to streamline and optimize the supply chain management process for organizational business. The resultsderived from the study have revealed its practicality, effectiveness, and adaptability in handling multi-criteria decision problems, by examining its principles, advantages, limitations, and application based on real situations. It's important to note that the method's reliance on accurate weight assignment to criteria poses a challenge. This process can be subjective and intricate, especially when faced with conflicting objectives. However, SAW stands as a valuable addition to the decision-maker's toolkit, providing a structured and transparent framework for making well-informed choices amidst complexity.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Horticultural Farmer Empowerment Strategy Based on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP): an Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) Approach. This research took place in Semarang Regency, precisely in Kopeng Village, Getasan Subdistrict, in accordance with the targets and objectives of the research. The research uses primary data and secondary data. Data collection methods in this research are observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Key persons in this research are academics, government, farmers, communities, community institutions, and business actors. The analytical method used in this research is the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The research result shows that the priority order of strategies that can be implemented are human resource development, government policy, and institutions. Meanwhile, the order of priority for alternative strategies is sustainable guidance and training for farmers and agribusiness actors in creating business innovations, promotional and marketing training using information and communication technology, and increasing the capacity of farmers and agribusiness actors in the use of tools, production based on renewable technology. The suggestion that can be given in this research is that implementing good agricultural practices requires strong commitment from stakeholders so there is a need for motivation and collaboration between farmers, government, and business actors. The implementation of good agricultural practices needs to be carried out with a consistent strategy so strict supervision is needed.

Abstract

This study investigates whether digitalization reduces or reinforces the gender gap in working hours in Indonesia. Using the 2023 National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) and the Oaxaca–Blinder decomposition approach, it compares the working hour disparities between men and women in both digital and non-digital employment. The findings reveal that the gender gap in working hours is relatively smaller in the digital sector and is largely explained by observable characteristics such as education, formal employment, and training. In contrast, a significant portion of the gap in the non-digital sector remains unexplained, indicating strong influences of social norms and structural biases. These results suggest that digitalization can enhance women's labor market inclusion if supported by affirmative policies that improve access to technology and training. Meanwhile, the non-digital sector still requires broader structural reforms to achieve gender equality in working hours.
