Abstract

Ethical leadership remains a critical concern in Indonesia’s public sector, where bureaucratic integrity is often undermined by systemic challenges. This study aims to examine the implementation and outcomes of character development training in fostering ethical behavior among public officials. The research was conducted at BP3KSDMT, a specialized training institution under the Ministry of Transportation, using a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected from 10 respondents—including facilitators, administrators, and training participants—through semi-structured interviews, participant observations, and document analysis. Triangulation and member-checking were employed to ensure data validity and reliability. Thematic analysis was conducted manually to identify key themes and recurring patterns related to training implementation and results. The findings reveal that experiential learning methods—such as role-playing, team-building exercises, and scenario-based simulations—positively influenced training outcomes, particularly in ethical decision-making, personal accountability, and teamwork. Post-training evaluations reported a 25% increase in ethical decision-making proficiency, a 34% improvement in awareness of bureaucratic ethics, and a 29% enhancement in collaborative problem-solving skills. These outcomes underscore the program’s effectiveness in achieving meaningful training results within the Indonesian civil service. This study contributes empirical evidence to the limited body of research on ethics training in Southeast Asian bureaucracies. In contrast to prior studies centered on Western models or conceptual frameworks, it offers context-specific insights into the practical value of character development. The findings highlight the importance of sustained investment in training implementation and call for further research on the long-term impact of such initiatives on institutional culture and accountability.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnerships on empowering disabled farmers within the "Tumbuh Mandiri Cimahi" (TUMAN) Disabled Farmers Group in Indonesia. It tackles the key challenges faced by marginalized communities, including limited resources, inadequate skills, and restricted market access. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and document analysis involving TUMAN members and relevant stakeholders. Thematic analysis indicated that CSR engagement significantly enhances participants’ agricultural skills, income security, and sense of social inclusion. The program provides customized training, adaptive farming tools, and market connections, enabling participants to attain greater economic independence. Moreover, TUMAN prioritizes local partnerships and ongoing capacity-building, which supports long-term sustainability. The findings illustrate that CSR can serve as a transformative force in disability-inclusive agripreneurship, promoting both social equity and economic resilience in rural areas. This research contributes to the discourse on inclusive community development by presenting a replicable model that integrates CSR with empowerment-focused strategies. The study offers practical insights for policymakers, development practitioners, and CSR stakeholders dedicated to advancing inclusive and sustainable rural livelihoods.

Abstract

The research examines using digital platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp to drive business growth, enhance community engagement, and promote economic empowerment while strictly adhering to Islamic ethical principles. Employing a qualitative case study methodology in Salon Jois Bandung, including in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis, the findings reveal that aligning digital marketing strategies with cultural and religious values is pivotal for fostering customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty. The research highlights the critical role of ethical considerations in shaping digital marketing practices in culturally sensitive contexts, such as those found in Islamic societies. The case of Salon Jois demonstrates that MSMEs can effectively leverage digital platforms to build robust community connections and achieve sustainable growth, provided they carefully navigate the ethical complexities inherent in these markets. This research contributes to the existing literature on digital marketing in Islamic contexts by offering practical insights into culturally sensitive marketing practices and emphasizing the potential of digital marketing to advance the broader objectives of Islamic community development. The findings advocate for further scholarly inquiry into integrating contemporary marketing tools with traditional Islamic values, which is crucial for the sustainable development of MSMEs in Muslim-majority regions.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of green economy principles and community empowerment through the collaboration between Bank Sampah Berkah Kenanga and Posyandu in Desa Sayati. The research aims to analyze how waste management initiatives can simultaneously promote financial literacy, economic resilience, and environmental stewardship at the grassroots level. A qualitative approach was adopted, with data collected through structured interviews involving waste bank managers, Posyandu cadres, and community members. Results show that the “Bawa Sampah Selalu ke Posyandu” (BAWASLU) program links monthly child health monitoring sessions with systematic waste collection, allowing residents to convert household waste into savings redeemable for essential goods or precious metals. Participants reported increased financial literacy, household savings, and social capital, alongside greater environmental awareness and leadership opportunities, particularly for women. Intergenerational transmission of sustainable practices was also observed. However, operational challenges persist, notably manpower shortages, logistical inefficiencies, and limited mechanization. Despite these constraints, the collaboration demonstrates significant potential for replication and expansion through capacity-building initiatives, policy support, and formalization into a cooperative structure. In conclusion, the Bank Sampah–Posyandu model presents an innovative and effective framework for linking public health objectives, environmental sustainability, and socioeconomic development in rural communities. Future efforts should focus on infrastructure investment, digital marketing expansion, and intensified environmental education to optimize program scalability and long-term impact.
