Abstract

This article scrutinises the Al-Qur'an and Hadith as a source of Islamic education which is a reference and way of life for Muslims. However, there are still many worlds of Islamic education that have not fully implemented the Qur'an and Hadith as real sources (Syamil Mutakammil) in Islamic education, except only dwelling on symbols, discourses and studies. So, Islamic religious education should actually refer to the pattern of prophetic education, by prioritizing the role of exemplary and learning models based on the formation of faith and morals and the concept of brotherhood which is full of values, as the educational model applied by the Prophet when he was in Mecca and Medina. Thus, there is an equivalence of normative quality and applicative quality in values and meanings

Abstract

Al-Farabi's thought on divinity is one of the main pillars of the Islamic philosophical tradition, which sought to harmonize Islamic revelation with Greek philosophy, especially Aristotle and Plotinus. Al-Farabi viewed God as the First Cause (al-'Illah al-Ula), which is the origin of all existence through emanation (al-faith). This concept places God as the transcendent, perfect, infinite Being and the source of all reality. This article explores how Al-Farabi formulated the relationship between God, reason, and the universe, and highlights his attempts to explain the nature of divinity with a rational approach. In this exploration, several important issues are raised, such as the harmony between reason and revelation, God's relationship with the universe through emanation, and how God's nature can be understood without diminishing His transcendence. In addition, this study also discusses the implications of Al-Farabi's thought for Islamic theology and its relevance in the modern context. Using a literature analysis approach to Al-Farabi's major works, such as Al-Madina al-Fadila and Kitab al-Huruf, this study found that Al-Farabi sought to provide a harmonious synthesis between philosophical traditions and religious beliefs, although his concepts often sparked theological debates. The findings confirm that Al-Farabi's thought has a significant contribution in shaping Islamic philosophical discourse, especially in understanding the relationship between God, reason and reality.

Abstract

The issue that is still under long debate is the problem of the universe, which reaps the pros and cons associated with the concept of emanation. This paper intends to examine al-Farabi's opinion on the concept of emanation associated with the concept of the creation of the universe. This research is a type of library research, namely researching using documents from existing literature sources to help find the data being analyzed. Based on this study, it appears that the concept of emanation pioneered by al-Farabi is in accordance with the Big Bag theory. In the concept of emanation, the influence of neo-platonism metaphysical philosophy is very visible. Al-Farabi argues that the Prophet, Philosopher, and King are a unity of meaning despite having different approaches.

Abstract

Abstract: This article comparatively examines the moderate and traditional Islamic approaches in the realm of law and education. Moderate Islam is characterized by its emphasis on the principles of tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and contextual interpretation of Islamic sources. In contrast, traditional Islam places more emphasis on preserving established and inherited religious practices and interpretations. Through a review of various Islamic legal literature and an analysis of the curriculum structure in Islamic educational institutions, this article evaluates the extent to which the two approaches influence the understanding and implementation of Islamic teachings in society. The research findings indicate that although moderate Islam tends to be more responsive to the dynamics and challenges of the modern era, traditional Islam still plays a significant role in shaping the religious identity and social values of the community. This discussion is expected to contribute to academic understanding of the urgency of creating a balance between the two modes of thought in order to support the creation of a harmonious social order and an inclusive Islamic education system. Keywords: Moderate Islam, Traditional Islam, Law, Education.

Abstract

This study analyses the development and transformation of Islamic education curricula from the classical era to the contemporary period, focusing on changes in systems, teaching methods, and the challenges encountered. Using a historical-comparative analytical approach, the research examines the evolution of Islamic education curricula, starting from mosque-based learning systems in the classical era, the development of madrasas in the mediaeval period, to the adoption of digital technology and modern teaching methods in the contemporary era. The findings reveal that the Islamic education curriculum has undergone significant transformations to respond to the needs of the times. It evolved from an initial focus on Quranic studies and religious sciences to a system integrating religious and general knowledge, and further to the adoption of technology and innovative teaching methods in the Society 5.0 era. Key challenges identified include balancing fundamental Islamic values with the demands of modernity, integrating technology into learning, and fostering 21st-century competencies. This study recommends developing a holistic curriculum that integrates Islamic values with technological innovations and global needs while emphasising character development and soft skills to prepare an excellent Muslim generation for the digital age.
