Abstract

This research aims to develop a science learning module based on Socio Scientific Issues on biotechnology materials that can improve students' critical thinking skills. This research is an R&D research with a 4-D design. Validation is carried out by science experts and teachers. The module readability test and the students' responses to the module were obtained using a close test and questionnaire. Data analysis was performed descriptively quantitatively. The results of the module validation by expert lecturers obtained 89% and an average CVI value of 0.98 with a very valid category and was suitable for use. The module readability test results were 42.22% with the instructional level category indicating that the modules needed to be learned. The results of the N-Gain test for critical thinking ability is 0.59, the module is in the moderate category and the students' response value to the module by 87.50% showed the response in the very good category to the use of module-based SSI in learning to improve critical thinking skill.

Abstract

Background: Each student has different characteristics, they will develop certain attitudes, interests, appreciation and goals. Therefore, the teacher's duty is to form motivation that can encourage students to do something to achieve their learning goals. This research aims to determine the effect of applying audiovisual learning media in the form of songs based on culturally responsive teaching in improving students' learning motivation on biodiversity material. Method: This research applies the collaborative classroom action reasearch methods with a quantitative approach with to sudy subjects of 36 students. The instruments used were students' initial motivational interview sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, student attitudes and skills observation sheets, and student learning motivation questionnaires. Students' learning motivation measured in this study included 10 indicators of 1) There is desire. to be successful, 2) There is encouragement and need to learn, 3) Perseverance in facing tasks, 4) Tenacity in facing difficulties, 5) Independence in acting, 6) Providing time, 7) Trying to estimate the results of various strategies, 8) Enjoying finding and solving problems - questions, 9) Courage to face failure, 10) Ability to rise from failure. Results: The results show that percentage of student motivation in cycle 1 obtained an average motivation score of 74.27%, while in cycle 2 the average percentage of student motivation was 79.57%. Overall, the average percentage of student motivation in cycles 1 and 2 was 76.92%. Conclusion: The implementation of audiovisual learning media in the form of CRT-based songs in biodiversity material can improve students' learning motivation. This can be seen from the average percentage of students' learning motivation of 76.92% with moderate motivation interpretatios. Abstract

Background: Social discrimination based on a person's ethnic and cultural background still often occurs in Indonesia, this is due to feelings of superiority as someone with a better background. There is a need to introduce culture and ethnicity through classroom learning, and low student learning outcomes are often found in cell material because this material is an abstract concept for students. Methods: Data collection uses test and non-test instruments, test instruments in the form of multiple choice questions and non-test instruments through response questionnaires. The data obtained was then analyzed using the Microsoft-Excel application. Results: Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, student learning outcomes increase and the N-gain value in cycle 1 is 79.36 and in cycle 2 is 89.39 with effective criteria. The student response questionnaire analyzed in cycle 1 as a whole had good criteria and in cycle 2 as a whole had very good criteria. Conclusion: The application of the inkuiri terbimbing model using PASAGI media can effectively improve student learning outcomes. Keywords : guided inquiry; PASAGI; learning outcomes

Abstract

study aims to produce products in the form of Stop motion animation learning media and obtain information on students' critical thinking skills on circulation system materials. This research is a development research or Research and Development (R&D) with a research design carried out referring to the 4-D development model by Thiagarajan et al., (1974). The 4-D development model consists of define, design, develop, and dessiminate stages. Of the four steps, only three steps were carried out in accordance with the limitations of the study. Data collection is carried out in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results of this study showed that the learning media got an average score of 3.66 which means it is very good based on expert assessment, the CVR score got a score of 3.90 and CVI got a score of 0.94. The results of the student's critical thinking skills test before using stop motion animation media scored 56.53 and after using the media scored 82.53.

Abstract

Argumentasi merupakan bagaimana seseorang mengatasi setiap pertanyaan secara rasional, argumentasi terdiri dari claim, data, warrant, bacing dan rebuttal. Memasuki era digital dan kurikulum merdeka belajar peserta didik diharapkan mampu memanfaatkan teknologi, teknologi yang digunakan yaitu media e-magazine. E-Magazine ini salah satu sumber belajar yang berisikan materi pembelajaran virus yang ditampilkan secara menarik dengan fitur yang lebih menarik seperti gambar, video, dan tampilannya yang tidak membosankan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan dan mengembangkan media e-magazine untuk melatih keterampilan argumentasi peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). menggunakan model ADDIE Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus hingga September 2022. Populasi dan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik SMA Negeri 1 Cibadak kelas X-1 sebanyak 33 orang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tes keterampilan argumentasi diperoleh data peningkatan dalam level keterampilan argumentasi. Hasil uji validitas memiliki nilai 0,847 untuk soal pre test dan 0,876 untuk soal post test kemudian Rtabel memiliki nilai 0,344 hal ini masuk ke dalam kategori sangat valid untuk digunakan karena V ? 0,8. Berdasarkan nilai rerata pre test 2,182 dan post test 2,697 dengan perolehan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,83. Pengembangan media e-magazine menggunakan metode ADDIE. Dalam media e-magazine ini terdapat fitur-fitur yang dapat menarik perhatian peserta didik seperti background yang full color, gambar yang menarik, video pembelajaran, teka teki silang, pojok diskusi, dan info tentang penyakit virus.

Abstract

The utilization of old coconut still needs to be improved. Old coconut water that is wasted can pollute the soil because of the acetic acid content produced by the fermentation process. Waste of old coconut water can be used as a food product in the form of nata, which has economic value and reduces environmental pollution. Sucrose is a carbon source for making nata de coco because it is an energy source for Acetobacter xylinum bacteria. Varied carbon sources can have different effects on nata de coco growth. The study results are used as learning media in class X high school. This study aimed to determine the effect of coconut sugar, corn sugar, and rock sugar on the quality of nata de coco, the type of sugar that is best for nata de coco growth, and the feasibility of e-booklet learning media. This research used an experimental and one-factor, complete, randomized design. Data analysis used was organoleptic testing juxtaposed with hedonic test, wet weight calculation, thickness, and learning media validation. The results showed that sugar cubes had the highest average value with a wet weight of 292 gr and a thickness of 1.4 cm. The lowest average value is corn sugar, with an average wet weight of 172 grams and a thickness of 0.9 cm. Organoleptic and hedonic testing of corn sugar has the highest value of 14.09. The validated e-booklet has a percentage score of 88.18% with very feasible criteria. Based on the study results, the varied types of carbon sources significantly affect the quality of nata de coco assessed in terms of appearance and organoleptic aspects.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Soybean husk is waste from the tempe making process which contains organic materials and nutrients so that it can be used as raw material for making organic fertilizer. The use of organic fertilizer on vegetable plants is one effort to meet the need for organic vegetables. This research aims to obtain information on the nutrient and heavy metal content of liquid organic fertilizer for soybean epidermis and the effect of this fertilizer on the growth and yield of pak choy. This research was carried out in December 2022-July 2023, in Citeureup, Bogor and the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University. The experimental design used was a Randomized Block Design with three replications. The liquid organic fertilizer treatments used consisted of control, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area and plant wet weight. The results showed that liquid organic fertilizer from soybean epidermis contained C-organic (1.63%), C/N ratio (20.13), macro nutrients (N+P₂O₅ +K₂O) 0.42%, total and available Fe (26.61ppm and 25.56 ppm) and Zn (0.42ppm). The heavy metal content (Pb, Cd, Cr, As, Hg) meets the quality standards set by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 261 of 2019, so that it can be applied to plants. Liquid organic fertilizer with a concentration of 5% was the best supporting growth and production of Pak Choy compared to the control, 10%, 15% and 20%.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Biologi yang bermakna memerlukan suatu pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan percobaan langsung atau disebut dengan praktikum dalam proses pembelajarannya. Kurangnya sarana dan prasarana di laboratorium mengakibatkan kendala dalam pelaksanaan praktikum di sekolah. Perkembangan teknologi dapat digunakan oleh guru untuk memberikan solusi terhadap permasalahan pada praktikum Biologi yaitu dengan menggunakan laboratorium virtual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis kebutuhan pengembangan laboratorium virtual berbasis masalah pada materi sistem peredaran darah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian adalah 5 orang guru Biologi dan 64 siswa kelas XI MIPA salah satu Madrasah Negeri di Kabupaten Bogor, Indonesia. Tahap analisis kebutuhan terdiri dari penilaian kebutuhan dan analisis kebutuhan. Analisis kebutuhan dilakukan dengan melihat kesenjangan dan kebutuhan terhadap laboratorium virtual oleh siswa dan guru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlu adanya pengembangan laboratorium virtual berbasis masalah pada materi sistem peredaran darah untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran Biologi pada siswa.

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan praktikum menjadi komponen penting dalam pembelajaran IPA termasuk biologi karena dapat melatih siswa untuk berpikir konsep-konsep ilmiah dalam melakukan prosedur yang kompleks. Tujuan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah melakukan pendampingan kegiatan praktikum biologi di laboratorium untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Kegiatan ini di laksanakan bulan Maret 2023 di laboratorium program studi Pendidikan Biologi, FKIP, Universitas Pakuan diikuti oleh 20 orang siswa Surau Islamic Homeschooling.  Metode pelaksanaan meliputi observasi dan workshop pembuatan preparat. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi untuk mengukur keterampilan proses sains yang muncul selama kegiatan praktikum dan lembar kuesioner untuk menjaring persepsi siswa terkait pelaksanaan kegiatan pendampingan praktikum. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh melalui kegiatan pendampingan praktikum biologi menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan tersebut mampu meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa Surau Islamic Homeschooling dengan kategori sangat baik di semua aspek yaitu mengobservasi 94%, mengklasifikasi 92%, menggunakan alat laboratorium 100%, melakukan percobaan 100%, menafsirkan 82,5%, dan mengkomunikasikan hasil 94%. Kegiatan ini memberikan pengalaman dan keterampilan kepada siswa sekolah mitra dalam hal pembuatan preparat segar dan pengamatan menggunakan mikroskop.  Kata kunci: keterampilan proses sains; mikroskop; sikap ilmiah. Abstract Practical activities are an important component in learning science including biology because it can train students to think of scientific concepts in performing complex procedures. The purpose of this Community Service is to provide assistance in biology practical activities in the laboratory to improve students' science process skills. This activity was carried out in the laboratory of the biology education study program, FKIP, Pakuan University, attended by 20 students of Surau Islamic Homeschooling. Implementation methods include observation and specimen preparation. The instruments used were observation sheets to measure science process skills that emerged during practical activities and questionnaire sheets to capture students' perceptions regarding the implementation of practical mentoring activities. Based on the results obtained through mentoring biology practicum activities, it shows that these activities are able to improve the science process skills of Surau Islamic Homeschooling students with a very good category in all aspects, namely observing 94%, classifying 92%, using laboratory equipment 100%, conducting experiments 100%, interpreting 82.5%, and communicating results 94%. This activity provides experience and skills to students from partner schools in terms of making fresh preparations and observing using a microscope. Keywords: microscope; scientific attitude; science process skills.

Abstract

Penurunan produksi sawi akibat penggunaan pupuk anorganik perlu ditindaklanjuti dengan peralihan ke pupuk organik. Ampas kopi dan teh merupakan bahan organik yang bersifat racun bagi lingkungan jika dilepaskan tanpa adanya pengolahan. Pupuk ampas kopi dan teh merupakan solusi yang ramah lingkungan karena unsur hara yang dikandungnya dapat mengoptimalkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ampas kopi dan teh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi hijau. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 6 perlakuan yaitu P0 (kontrol), P1 (100 g), P2 (75 g AK + 25 g AT), P3 (50 g AK + 25 g AT), P4 (25 g AK + 75 g AT), dan P5 (100 g AT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan P5 memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, lebar daun, dan berat basah. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh pemberian ampas teh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi hijau.
