IKEA: global retail sales share 2025, by sales channel

In the financial year of 2025, about 69 percent of IKEA's global retail sales were generated in the company's existing retail stores. In comparison, online sales of the Swedish furniture retail conglomerate made up about 28 percent of its global sales.

With its first store opening back in 1958 in Älmhult, a small town in the south of Sweden, IKEA has now grown into the world’s largest furniture retailer. Over the years, IKEA’s global annual revenue has shown a general increase, reaching almost 45 billion euros in 2025.

With nearly one quarter of its revenue generated through online sales, IKEA’s web store is favored amongst global consumers. In 2024, IKEA.com ranked fourth amongst competitors worldwide in terms of e-commerce sales. In 2024, IKEA.com was visited over 4.5 billion times globally.
