In 2023, Mexican supermarket chain Grupo Chedraui's largest brands in terms of unit numbers were Tiendas Chedraui, with *** units, Supercitos, with *** units, and Súper Chedraui, with ** units.
Tiendas Chedraui cover cities with over 100 thousand inhabitants and Súper Chedraui cover cities under ** thousand inhabitants, respectively, and competing with the bigger brands of Walmart de México y Centroamérica, Organización Soriana, and Grupo La Comer.
In 2016, Grupo Chedraui added Súper Che to its brands, a chain store focused on selling basic groceries and basic food basket products. A year later, the first Supercitos, convenience stores, opened their doors, targeting basic grocery and cleaning products, and aiming to directly compete with other convenience stores such as the popular Oxxo.
In 2022, Grupo Chedraui announced the completion of its acquisition of the discount store chain Arteli, aiming at expanding its reach in the northeastern part of the country. As of December 2022, Grupo Chedraui owned over *** stores across the country.
