Intellectual Capital Disclosure

The study was conducted to determine the effect of firm size and gender diversity of the board of directors on earnings quality, which can be expressed as the ability of reported earnings to predict earnings. For this purpose, we focused on 11 food, beverage and tobacco companies traded in the manufacturing sector in Borsa Istanbul between 2010-2020. In the study, the size of the business and the gender diversity of the board of directors with the quality of earnings (income quality ratio) were used as variables. Panel data analysis method was used to determine the effect of business size and gender diversity of the board of directors on earnings quality. The results of the study showed that the gender diversity of the board of directors and the size of the firm have a positive effect on earnings quality.

This paper examines the reporting on intangible capital (IC) in annual reports, focusing on its extent and the trends within integrated corporate reporting. Using a comprehensive reporting index, we found that Qatari listed companies reported IC to an extent of 0.408, on average, from 2008 to 2020. This is a relatively high figure if compared to some earlier studies. External intangible capital demonstrated the highest reporting levels, while human capital had the lowest. Significant differences were observed across various IC categories, with notable increases in total IC, external intangible and human capital reporting, while internal intangible capital reporting decreased over the same period. As Qatar transitions to a knowledge-based economy (KBE), these findings are crucial, highlighting the relative advance in IC reporting among Qatari companies. These insights are valuable for regulatory and professional bodies that are aiming to develop IC reporting guidelines or to adopt the International Integrated Reporting Framework, enabling comprehensive IC information that aids stakeholders to assess company performance and value creation, enhancing transparency and confidence in the capital market. For companies, understanding their IC reporting practices helps to identify strengths and weaknesses to meet stakeholders' needs better, and to support Qatar's economic transformation into a KBE. This pioneering study employs a comprehensive reporting index to capture a wide range of IC information, contributing significantly to the current IC reporting literature, particularly within the Gulf Cooperation Council context.

Public listed companies in Palestine are enhancing their corporate governance practices, particularly following the introduction of the Code of Corporate Governance in 2009. This development presents an opportunity to boost firm value through various avenues, including intellectual capital. This paper explores the role of intellectual capital in increasing firm value within Palestinian public listed companies. Using a descriptive-analytical methodology, the study examines data from 12 years of annual reports (2011-2022) of listed corporations, employing STATA version 16 for analysis. The findings reveal that components of intellectual capital performance (HCE, SCE, CEE) and intellectual capital disclosure (HCD, SCD, CED) have direct influences on firm value. The research emphasizes the need for companies to focus on enhancing employee skills through effective training, leading to better resource utilization. This paper contributes to understanding how specific aspects of intellectual capital can serve as tools for management to assure stakeholders and enhance overall firm value.

This study tested the impact of digital transformations on the ESG scores, which is a part of the
sustainability reporting of companies traded in Borsa Istanbul (BIST) sustainability index between 2018
and 2022. Information about the digital transformation of businesses was obtained by content analysis
method from annual reports, sustainability reports and integrated reports published at the end of the period.
The digital transformation index was determined by calculating the digital transformation variable on a
total of five dimensions: “artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, block chain and digital
technology applications.” While calculating the digitalization index, the total number of digital
transformation keywords and the number of words of the messages in which business managers evaluated
the past and future were taken into account. The study was carried out using two models. In the first model,
the total effect of digital transformation on ESG performance was examined, and in the second model the
effect of digital transformation dimensions was tested separately. According to the results obtained from
Model 1, it was found that the digital transformation variable of the enterprises did not have a significant
effect on ESG performance, while according to the results obtained from Model 2, it was determined that
the cloud computing component had a significant effect on ESG performance.

Bu çalışmada 2016-2021 yılları arasında BIST (Borsa İstanbul)'e kote olan işletmelerin araştırma ve geliştirme (Ar-Ge) giderleri üzerinde yönetim kurulu yapısının etkisi incelenmiştir. İşletmelerin Ar-Ge giderlerine yapılan harcamaların hesaplanmasında kar/zarar tablosunda faaliyet giderleri altında raporlanan Ar-Ge giderlerinin doğal logaritması dikkate alınmıştır. İşletmelerin yönetim kurulu yapısının belirlenmesinde ise bağımsız yönetim kurulu üyeleri ile yabancı yönetim kurulu üyelerinin toplam yönetim kurulu üyeleri içerisindeki ağırlıkları dikkate alınmıştır. Ar-ge giderleri üzerinde yönetim kurulu yapısının etkisinin belirlenmesinde firma yaşı ve kaldıraç oranı gibi aracı değişkenlere de başvurulmuştur. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre Ar-Ge giderleri ile yönetim kurulu yabancı üye oranı arasında pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki belirlenirken, Ar-Ge giderleri ile kaldıraç oranları arasında negatif ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Fakat işletme yönetim kurulu üye sayısı, yönetim kurulu üyelerinin bağımsızlık oranı, firma yaşı ve işletme büyüklüğü değişkenlerinin Ar-Ge giderleri üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi olmadığı gözlemlenmiştir.

Purpose-Businesses are obliged to measure and manage Intellectual capital (IC) because of its importance. The literature focuses on the definition of intellectual capital, its measurement, reporting in accounting, examining its effect on performance, and ultimately the management of intellectual capital in terms of businesses. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of the Intellectual Value Added Coefficient (VAIC) of a university hospital, which has important resources in terms of high-level knowledge and skill use. Methodology-Resource-based view theory is a leading paradigm in the field of strategic management. The main focus of this theory is to achieve sustainability by providing profit and efficiency by using strategic resources effectively. The theoretical structure of our study is based on the source-based view theory. In this direction, the financial data for the three years were evaluated by using the visible and invisible sources, the Intellectual Value Added Coefficient (VAIC) model. Findings-The revolving fund and the added budget (general budget) capital accounts of the university hospital, which are semi-autonomous public enterprises, were handled separately, and the data set that would form the intellectual capital values was determined from the sum of the two. The analysis reveals that capital employed (CEE) employed by years has a greater impact on intellectual capital than other components. Human capital has a greater impact on university hospital efficiency (ATO) than other intellectual capital components. The first two years of human capital (HCE) have a greater impact on university hospital profitability (ROA) than any other component of intellectual capital. Conclusion-Based on the findings of the analysis, it will make a unique contribution as it will focus on a new approach in the management and cost analysis applications where intellectual capital is effective in the efficiency evaluations of university hospitals. The VAIC Model should be adopted and implemented by university administrators.

Intellectual property as intangible assets includes patents, trademarks and copyrights, which can also be included in the traditional financial statement. Intellectual capital can be defined as the knowledge that is transformed into intellectual property or the end result of the process itself. The main objective of the study is to examine the effect of intellectual development on firm value of technology firms in Nigeria. Specifically, the study assesses the effect of human capital development, structural capital development, relational capital development and innovation capital development on firm value of technology firms in Nigeria. The study is anchored on the resource-based view (RBV) theory. The researcher adopted ex-post facto design in the study. The result of the study revealed that human capital development, structural capital development, relational capital development and innovation capital development has no significant effect on firm value of technology firms in Nigeria. The studies therefore conclude that intellectual capital development has positive and significant effect on firm value of technology firms in Nigeria. Amongst the recommendations is that management of the technology firms in Nigeria make more provisions for human capital development since this will enhance the firm value of technology firms in Nigeria. The management of the technology firms in Nigeria should make policies that will enable more structural capital development to improve technology firms in Nigeria. The management of the selected technology firms in Nigeria should also make more policies that will improve the relational capital development as a catalyst to improve firm value of technology firms in Nigeria. and the management of the selected technology firms in Nigeria should put in place effective and appropriate innovation capital development such that would enhance the firm value of technology firms in Nigeria

Separation of a firm's ownership and management and the resulting information asymmetry have led to investors and shareholders needing value-relevant information about factors influencing the economic development and success of a company. This study examined the value relevance of intellectual capital disclosure of the listed consumer goods firms in Nigeria. Data were collected from one hundred and seventy financial years (seventeen firms in Nigeria from 2013-2022) out of twenty-one firms to test the value relevance of intellectual capital disclosure of firms in Nigeria. The study analysed the data by means of descriptive statistics to provide summary statistics for the variables. Similarly, the study employed Robust Ordinary Least Square regressions to test the study hypotheses using STATA software. The regression results revealed that human capital disclosure, structural capital disclosure and the overall intellectual capital disclosure have significant positive impact on firm value measured by share price. The result however, showed that relational capital disclosure is not value relevant for the firms. This study therefore concludes that intellectual capital disclosure is value relevant for the firms and recommends that firms in consumers goods sector should provide more information on intellectual capital voluntarily since it is value relevant for decision making, which will ultimately lead to competitive advantage and future cash flows.

They say that humans are all-encompassing and are the driving force behind every business' success. Without employees, businesses would be unable to function and have no one with whom to interact. Although, there is an advancement in automated systems and artificial intelligence, human beings still continue to be the main drivers of innovation and production. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate how board structure affects the disclosure of human capital in Nigerian listed companies. Data were collected from forty-four listed non-financial services firms in Nigeria from 2013-2022. The study analysed the data by means of descriptive statistics to provide summary statistics for the variables. Similarly, the study adopted Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regressions to test the hypotheses. The results of the regression analysis showed that board gender diversity, board education, and the gender makeup of the audit committee all significantly influenced the disclosure of human capital. The result however showed that board nationality does not affect the disclosure of human capital of the firms. This study concludes that board structure improves human capital disclosure of listed non-financial firms in Nigeria. The study recommends that board of directors should be made to have more women and persons with knowledge in accounting, finance, economics and business management as part of the board of the firms in order to influence the decision to increase their human capital disclosure.

This study examines asset and liability risk assessment on share price of deposit money banks in Nigeria. The population of the study is sixteen (16) listed deposit money banks in Nigeria stock exchange as at 2018 and fourteen (14) deposit money banks was the sample size of the study for the period of five years (2012-2016). Secondary data were gathered from annual report and and accounts of the sample listed deposit money banks. The study utilizes descriptive research design to examine the relationship between the variables of the study. Multiple regression analyses were carried out in the study. The finding of the study revealed a positive relationship between earnings per share and asset risk management. Similarly, the regression results further showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between customers deposit and earnings per share indicating that a unit increase in the customers deposit will lead to a decrease i earnings per share. Therefore the study recommends that deposit money banks in Nigeria should mobilise deposits from customers and increase loan with portfolio management of asset and liabilities for risk diversification in order to generate higher profitability. Also, deposit money banks should increase loans to customers to boost their net income since loan to customers attract interest.

Every management face challenges daily, but there are some challenges which are customary to every management. One from such common problems confronted by the management while managing employees (teachers) include-Job satisfaction & Employee Loyalty. The invaluable resource that any institute possesses is its work force; indeed, an employee's longer work experience at the same corporate enhances his worth. The primary qualities a teacher possesses include being introspective, being cooperative, being directive and being expressive. A syllabus which is effective and a curriculum that is well planned is only fruitful with availability of teachers who are meticulous in their duties. Knowledge alone cannot be the basis for gauging the ability of a teacher. There are other factors too like whether the teacher is comfortable in handling the profession that impacts the effectiveness of the system. With many research works having taken place in this zone with multiple organizations, what we lack is a distinct research on satisfaction at job which needs to be taken up. Hence, we conducted a research where we took a sample size containing 50 teachers and performed the survey on the premise of systematic sampling. The method followed in the process of acquiring and assembly of data was structured questionnaire method.

The purpose of this paper is to review critically the intellectual capital (IC) measurement models found in the literature.In general, there are two broad approaches used in measuring IC: the direct and indirect methods.Each approach is reviewed by discussing the essence of the measurement models and assessing the usefulness and limitation of each approach.As a conclusion, the measurement of IC is still evolving and open for more improvement in the future.This study contributes to the literature by summarizing and synthesizing the IC measurement models used in the management and accounting literature.

This research aims to know the relationship between intellectual capital components (human capital, structural capital, and customer capital) with company's performance and manufacture industry in Indonesia. This study examines 50 companies that listed in Indonesian Capital Market Directory from 2003 until 2007 the financial report that published every years. The result show that there is significant positive relations amng intellectual capital with company's performance. But the result not support relationship between intellectual capital with future company's performance and future company's performance with rate of growth of intellectual capital (ROGIC).

Over the years, markets have witnessed several accounting scandals mainly because of the manipulation of the accounting figures reported in the financial statements. This has led to questioning the ability of auditors to effectively constrain such practices, especially in the developing countries. Given the prominence of this problem and the expected role of the auditor this study examined the combined effect of auditor tenure and auditor industry specialization on real earnings management among quoted food and beverages companies in Nigeria. Real earnings management was peroxide by discretionary accruals. Ex post facto research design was adopted. The populations are the 13 companies in the food and beverages sub-sector. The entire 13 companies were used as sample size for the purpose of data collection. The study covered the period 2014 to 2020. Secondary data were extracted from the annual accounts of the companies for the period of the study. The study used multiple regression technique to analyze the data. The result of the study showed that both auditor tenure and auditor industry specialization have negative but significant effect on real earnings management. The study concluded that long tenure auditors and industry specialist auditors constrain earnings management in food and beverages companies in Nigeria. The study recommended that efforts should be made with respect to legislations to strengthen auditors' quality in Nigeria since it is viable corporate governance tool towards enhancing reported earnings quality.

This paper intends to analyses leadership skills in the hospitality sector in the era of 4.0 industry. The purpose is to explore the role of multi-level forms of leadership and the profiles identified by the hospitality professionals. This is a quantitative study based on an online survey applied to two hotels, and the following research question have guided the present study: What are the 4.0 Leadership Skills in the hospitality sector? To answer the research question, the main technique to collect data was a questionnaire allowing to investigate the main issues related to 4.0 leadership skills. The results of the research are the identification of the leadership skills profiles, being this research significant for managers and leaders when developing organizational interactions from a multi-level efficacy perspective. The conceptual contribution of the paper is a fresh macro-analytical perspective concerning 4.0 leadership skills in the hospitality sector.

The purpose of this study is to examine the degree to which intangible assets effect financial performance, financial policies and market value of the technology firm. Design/methodology/approach-Structural equation modeling analysis was used to ascertain the relationship among intangible assets, firm performance, firm policies, and market value in the year 2015 to 2018 of 80 companies according to the market capitalization of their respective countries in the technology sector globally. The measures used in this study profitability efficiency, capital structure, dividend policy and market value that is calculated through the proxies ROA, ROE, ROIC, ATO, Net Profit Margin, debt to equity ratio, dividend payout ratio, price-earnings ratio, price to sales and price to book value. Finding-The results from Multi group Analysis (MGA) revealed that there are differences (p < .05) in the significance of the impact of Assets on the criterion variable between a few countries for instance Asset's impact on ROIC is significantly different between Russia & China and USA.

The aim of the study was to find out how strong the impact of intellectual capital, profitability and dividends is on the market capitalization of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and included in the LQ45 index from 2014 to 2018. The authors employ the multiple linear regression method. They measure the value of intellectual capital by the value added intellectual coefficient (VAIC ™), and the profitability-by return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE). To calculate a dividend per share (DPS), they divide the annual dividend by the number of outstanding shares. The results of this study show that intellectual capital and return on assets (ROA) do not significantly affect the company's market capitalization, while return on equity (ROE) and dividends do. The authors conclude that by the level of efficiency and effectiveness of the company in capital management, one may see whether investors receive higher profits. Therefore, investors are more interested in companies that have a high level of dividend distribution.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the value relevance of intellectual capital disclosures voluntary and involuntary. Previous studies use annual reports as main source to determine intellectual capital disclosures voluntary. Annual report is less reliable, unobjective and contain advertorial. This study seeks for alternative sources to identify intellectual capital disclosures. To determine intellectual capital disclosures voluntary (involuntary), we use website (online business media). This study uses companies in Kompas 100 during January-December 2017 as research samples. Intellectual capital disclosures measured by content analysis method. The results show that intellectual capital disclosures both voluntary and involuntary have value relevance. The main contribution of this study is an alternative source to collect data on intellectual capital disclosures.

This research aims to examine the effect of good corporate governance as measured by the board of directors, audit committee, and institutional ownership on company performance with enterprise risk management as an intervening variable. The population is LQ-45 companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). The hypothesis testing is using path analysis by IBM SPSS Statistics 21 software. The results shows the board of directors has a negative effect on the company performance. The audit committees and institutional ownership have no effect on the company performance. Enterprise risk management has a positive effect on the company performance. The board of directors, audit committees, and institutional ownership have a positive effect on the enterprise risk management. This research also shows that enterprise risk management able to mediate the effect of the board of directors, and audit committees on the company performance.

This paper aims to investigate the association between intellectual capital, research and development, and firm financial performance in an emerging market context, which is ASEAN. The effect of Intellectual Capital and Research and Development Intensity towards firm financial performance is examined while testing the moderating role of research and development on the relationship between intellectual capital and firm financial performance. Panel data regression model analysis is used for a sample of non-financial companies in ASEAN countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore during 2015-2017. The final sample used in this study consists of a total of 383 observations. The results showed that intellectual capital has a positive effect on firm financial performance. This result indicates that intellectual capital can generate higher financial performance for the firms. A similar result also found in the relationship between research and development intensity and firm financial performance. Meanwhile, research and development are proved to be able to moderate the positive relationship between intellectual capital and firm financial performance. This result means that if the companies could facilitate their intellectual capital by giving more intensity of research and development, intellectual capital will be generated even more performance for the firms. This result implies that firms should utilize and maintain intellectual capital together with research and development.

This study aims to determine how far the influence of intellectual capital on the financial performance of the Regional Development Bank of West Sumatra as the object of research. These financial performance measurement indicators use ROE, while intellectual capital is measured using VACA, VAHU, and STVA. Research data are time series. The period of financial statements taken is from 2015-2018. The financial statement data is taken monthly. Data is processed using SPSS data processing tools. Data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the study, VACA and VAHU had an effect on ROE, but STVA did not affect ROE. Simultaneously, intellectual variables have a positive influence on financial performance. In 2020, intellectual capital (IC) accounting research has advanced beyond its original strategic focus on measuring, managing, and reporting IC. In our introduction, we define IC as the collection of intangible resources, knowledge, experience, and intellectual property an organisation, community, country or society has and uses to create economic, utility, social and environmental value (Dumay, 2016). Our understanding of how IC impacts and is impacted by, knowledge-intensive institutions and societies in complicated and convoluted ways today stands in sharp contrast to that developed in Mouritsen and Roslender's (2009) Critical Perspectives on Accounting (CPA) special issue on ''Critical Intellectual Capital". That CPA special issue focused on organizational reporting practices and was concerned with calculation, numbering, quantification, and measurements. But IC research has shifted-now the focus is on understanding IC from multiple perspectives: internal, regional, national, environmental, and societal, and through different stages (Dumay, Guthrie, & Rooney, 2018). The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the association between three ownership structure characteristics and voluntary intellectual capital (IC) disclosure practices. Data for this study is hand collected from the 2000 annual reports of 390 Singapore publicly traded firms. Empirical results indicate Singapore publicly listed firms more closely owned were less likely to voluntarily disclose IC related information than counterparts with a more diffused ownership base. Also, those firms with a high level of executive director ownership were less inclined to voluntarily disclose IC related information than those where executive directors had smaller holdings in the entity. Finally, findings indicate government linked corporations (GLCs) will likely make more voluntary IC disclosures than non-GLCs. Overall, this study makes several unique contributions to the literature. First, the present study provides the first large-scale analysis of evidence of the association between ownership structure and voluntary intellectual capital disclosures. The study also contributes by broadening the examination of intellectual capital disclosure practices beyond general descriptive overviews.

The aim of this research is to examine the effect of intellectual capital on firm performances based on market-based performance which is measured by Tobin's Q. There are still rare previous studies in Indonesia that link intellectual capital and Tobin's Q. In this research, Intellectual Capital (IC) can be determined from VAIC (Value Added Intellectual Capital) with the three components which are VACA (Value Added Capital Employed), VAHU (Value Added Human Capital), and also STVA (Structural Capital Value Added). This research use a sample of Indonesia's listed companies within the period of 2012 to 2016. The result show that VAIC and components of IC such as VACA and VAHU have positive and significant effect to the firm performances, while other IC component that is STVA has negative and significant effect to firm performance. The findings may serve as a useful input for management to be able to manage intellectual capital effectively and efficiently, so that the company would be able to generate sustainable competitive advantages. The sample of this study is a media and entertainment sub-sector company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2012-2022. This research sample was selected through purposive sampling method in producing research samples. This study uses panel data path analysis as a data analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that VACA and STVA affect financial performance while VAHU has no effect on financial performance. Then, VAHU affects PBV while VACA and STVA have no effect on firm value. The results of this study indicate that financial performance also affects firm value but cannot intervene in the relationship between VACA, VAHU, STVA, and firm value.

Lack of effective corporate governance mechanism and disclosure transparency frameworks have been partly blamed for the 1997-1999 East Asia economic crises. Consequently, Indonesia, together with many countries across the globe have been actively reviewing and improving their corporate governance and transparency mechanisms. Theoretically, corporate governance mechanism is designed to monitor and evaluate decisions made by managers in the management of a company to reduce agency cost and information asymmetry between the shareholders and the management. The main objective of the study is to examine the effect of corporate governance mechanism on the level of voluntary disclosure in Indonesia, a country that has adopted a two-tier board system. The two-tier board system is considered a better system compared to one tier board system since all members of the board are non-executives. Therefore, the board members are more independent and objective in supervising and monitoring the performance of executive managers. This study investigates four corporate governance variables which are expected to influence the level of voluntary disclosure; (1) composition of independent members of Board of Commissioners (BOC), (2) composition of family members on the BOC, (3) audit quality, and (4) managerial ownership. The sample consists of companies listed on Bursa Saham Indonesia for the year ended 2008. The influence of corporate governance on the level of voluntary disclosure is analyzed using multiple regression method. As expected, the results show that the compositions of independent BOC and auditor's quality have a positive and significant relationship with the level of voluntary disclosure. Meanwhile, the composition of family members on the BOC has negatively influenced the disclosure. The results suggest that the corporate governance structure in a two-tier board system, specifically in Indonesia, is not significantly different from a one tier board system in influencing the level of voluntary disclosure.

This study aims to prove the effect of brand value on firm value. The research sample is companies listed in the 100 Most Valuable Brands of Indonesia and the Indonesia Stock Exchange 2015-2019, totaling 250 with purposive sampling technique, while the data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression analysis. As a result, we get the first evidence that brand value and book value per share does not affect firm value. In addition, earnings per share and market capitalization also affect firm value. This result means that the investor&#39;s decision to buy shares is a strategic and long-term decision with consideration of its prospects in the future.

Intellectual capitalis recognizedas a strategic asset that provides a competitive advantage to the organization for superior performance in the modern era of the knowledge-based economy. This study aimed to examine the effect of the components of the Intellectual Capital (VAICTM) to market performance is proxied by TVA , CAR and MtBV. The Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAICTM) methode is used to measure ofIntellectual Capital. This study uses data from 120 publicly listed companies in Indonesian Stock Exchange between the years 2008 to 2012. It is an empirical study using Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that: Intellectual Capital influences positively to market performance. Its prove that manufacturing companies in Indonesia have been managing knowledge assets well so its important role in the formation of added value and contribute to the improvement of company's market performance.

Intellectual Capital Reporting (ICR) has garnered increasing attention as a new accounting technology that can engender significant organisational changes. However, when ICR was first recognised as a management fashion, the intended change it heralded in stable environments was criticised for having limited impact on the state of practice. Conceiving ICR through a lens predicated on the notion of discursive practice, we argue that ICR can enable substantive change in emergent conditions. We empirically demonstrate this process by following the implementation of ICR in one organisation through interviews, documents and observations over 30 months. The qualitative analysis of the data corpus shows how situated change, subtle but no less significant, can take place in the name of intellectual capital as actors appropriate ICR into their everyday work practices while improvising variations to accommodate different logics of action. The paper opens up a new avenue to examine the specific roles of ICR in relation to the types of change enacted. It thus demonstrates when and how ICR may transcend a mere management fashion and the intended change it sets in motion through altering organisational actors' ways of thinking and doing within the confines of their organisation.

With the continuous adoption of sustainable development goals by all countries, there is a rising demand for implementing and disclosing related information by companies. This paper aims to find an idea about the nature of reporting practices related to slavery by listed banking companies of Bangladesh and the relationship between reporting practice and organizational attributes. Existing literature provides the foundation of this study. Annual reports from 2016 to 2021 were collected from the company websites, and content analysis was used to determine the nature and extent of slavery reporting; an index was developed based on content analysis. Independent variables were determined based on the current literature review. Statistical tools, including the test of multicollinearity, heteroscedastic, correlation, and linear regression and panel data analyses were used to determine the fitness of the model and the impact of independent variables on the dependent variable. Content analysis showed a clear picture of the consciousness about slavery accounting as all of the companies reported a minimum of three components of selected targets from SDG8. The evidence says that the quality and quantity of slavery reporting are improving yearly. A satisfactory correlation was found among the variables. Some variables, such as ownership nature, Board Size, etc., have a positive impact, and insignificant impact was found for Age and leverage on slavery disclosure. This paper only examines the banking industry, and it assesses only a few targets of SDG 8. Thus the results obtained from the study may not be similar to other companies. Data collection also has limitations; our target was to study till 2022 but some information requirements of few companies were not available on websites. This research paper is the first attempt to determine the nature of slavery accounting in Bangladesh. It will encourage business organizations to extend their reporting on slavery and SDGs.

This paper analyses the relations between intellectual capital (IC) and innovation. It links interest in the macro-effects of intellectual capital, typically found in cross-sectional studies on the effects of intellectual capital, to micro-studies of the performativity of intellectual capital. The former literature suffers from a lack of attention to the mechanisms that produce innovation, and the latter suffers from its focus on stabilising decisions in uncertain situations. The paper draws on the notion of perlocutionary performativity, which, in addition to suggesting that IC provokes effects, underlines that particular directions of these effects are uncertain, if not unknown. To show the mechanism through which perlocutions work, the paper draws on Butler's (1993; 1997) distinction between citability and ex-citability. According to this perspective, a citation of an IC corpus of expressions (citations, references, information) may be transformed, by being circulated (re-cited) and brought into a new potentially innovative arrangement, something which goes beyond (ex-cites) the cited reference. Over time, IC citations provoke innovation. Such a relation can be traced as a bushy form of innovation, which develops from a set of IC citations that have some durability in being reproduced regularly. The paper shows, through the analysis of two decades of reporting from Autostrade, that IC is both a set of disciplined citations of a particular kind of use value, a set of obligations to invest along this use value, and an unpredictable capitalisation of items of innovation.

The variables to be examined in the research include the Composition of Independent Commissioners as well as The Competence of Audit Committee and Risk Oversight Committee. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis method. The result of a partial test shows that the Composition of Independent Commissioners has a positive and significant influence on the intellectual capital disclosure; the Competence of Audit Committee has a positive and significant influence on the intellectual capital disclosure; and the Competence of Risk Oversight Committee does not influence the intellectual capital disclosure. Meanwhile, the result of a simultaneous test shows that the Composition of Independent Commissioners, the Competence of Audit Committee, and the Competence of Risk Oversight Committee significantly influence the intellectual capital disclosure.
