Playing With / Finishing Move

Basic Trope: A One-Hit Kill, often flashy, used at the end of a fight to finish the opponent off.

• Straight:
  • After Emperor Evulz is dazed from all the damage taken, Bob finishes him off by utilizing a rapid Omnislash, turning the latter into a pile of bloody ribbons.
  • After Emperor Evulz is dazed, Bob takes out and fires a Wave-Motion Gun, vaporizing the latter.
• Exaggerated:
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill
  • Pummeling the Corpse
  • Five Moves of Doom
• Downplayed: Bob only does a Finishing Stomp.
• Justified:
  • Bob is a huge show-off.
  • Emperor Evulz can only be properly Killed Off for Real with a finishing blow, or else he will revive.
• Inverted: Emperor Evulz delivers one to himself.
• Subverted:
  • The Worf Barrage
  • Emperor Evulz just quickly recovers and continues fighting.
• Double Subverted: You Are Already Dead
• Parodied: After Emperor Evulz is dazed, Bob delivers a ridiculously long combo of punches and kicks, and ends it with a Finger Poke of Doom.
• Zig Zagged: Emperor Evulz keeps getting up no matter how many flashy moves Bob throws at him.
• Averted:
  • Emperor Evulz faints after taking too much damage, and Bob leaves him be.
  • Bob and Emperor Evulz never fight.
• Lampshaded:
  • "Show off..."
  • "Woah, you didn't have to beat him like that!"
• Invoked: Finish Him!
• Defied: Drake steps in to stop Bob from finishing Emperor Evulz off.
• Implied: Offscreen Moment of Awesome
• Played for Laughs: After Emperor Evulz is dazed, Bob kicks him in the groin, causing him to fall down and writhe in pain.
