About

We’re building the multiplayer backend we wished we’d had.

Plot is a small team that spent years bolting netcode onto indie games the hard way. We got tired of it, so we’re building the thing that should have existed — and giving the smallest teams the tools the big studios take for granted.

Every multiplayer game we shipped started the same way: an idea that worked in a weekend, then six weeks of WebSocket plumbing, server provisioning, and a cloud bill we couldn’t predict. The fun part took two days. The infrastructure took two months.

The tools that existed were built for someone else — AAA Unity teams, competitive shooters, studios with an ops department. Nothing was shaped for the solo dev shipping an .io game on a weekend.

So we reduced multiplayer to its elements — points, lines, planes — and built a managed backend on Cloudflare’s edge that delivers exactly those three, cheaply and fast. The goal is simple: the distance between your idea and a live room should be five minutes, not six weeks.

What we believe

A few principles we won’t trade away.

01

Indie-first, not enterprise-down

We design for the solo dev and the three-person studio. If a feature only makes sense at AAA scale, it's not our job — and we'll say so.

02

Honest about fit

We'll tell you when a competitor is the better choice. Trust is worth more than a signup we'd regret.

03

Predictable beats cheap

The number on the pricing page is the number on your bill. No surprise overages, no "talk to sales" to learn the real cost.

04

Open where it counts

The client SDKs are MIT-licensed and on GitHub. You can read every line of what runs in your game.

The team

Small on purpose.

The edge runtime and room model, the client SDKs, and everything in between. Plot is built by one person who wanted multiplayer to be this simple.
