I was trying to create a statement with a preferred rank on Wikimedia commons last night.
As far as I can tell in the action API, this can only be nicely achieved by making two API calls and two edits.
It would be great to have the rest API developed and released for media info on commons, so that this can be done easily within a single call using the new interface
