Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce treating cost without byproducing sludge by letting phosphoric acid ions be adsorbed in the chelate type ion exchange resins adsorbed with metal ions and regenerating the resins without desorbing the metal ions. CONSTITUTION:The chelate type ion exchange resins composed of polyamine, etc. adsorbed with alkali metal ions, etc. as their skeleton are contacted with waste water containing phosphoric acid ions, etc., whereby the phosphoric acid ions are adsorbed on the resins. The resins having lowered their adsorbing ability are contacted with an aqueous solution of ammonium chloride, sodium chloride, etc. to be regenerated without allowing the metals to desorb from the chelate type ion exchange resins, thence the resins are reused. This method enhances the adsorbing ability of phosphorus. Since no sludge is produced, the entire process becomes clean process.
