Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat elastisitas faktor produksi kelapa sawit di Aceh Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dimana penentuan lokasi ditentukan secara purposive (sengaja) di Kecamatan Lhoksukon. Data primer didapatkan dari wawancara terstruktur (quisioner) sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari berbagai instansi yang ada kaitannya dengan penelitian ini. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif serta di diskripsikan dalam hasil penelitian. Model analisa yang digunakan adalah fungsi linier dalam logaritma (double logarithmic function) dimana koefisien regresi secara langsung merupakan koefisien elastisitas dari masing-masing variabel yang diamati. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa umur rata-rata petani sampel adalah 42.75 tahun, umur ini tergolong usia produktif untuk bekerja. Tingkat pendidikan rata-rata petani sampel adalah 7.8 tahun, yang berarti setingkat Sekolah Lanjutan Tingkat Pertama. Dari segi pengalaman terlihat pada umumnya pengalaman petani dalam berusahatani rata-rata 20.5 tahun dan rata-rata jumlah tanggungan sampel di daerah penelitian adalah 4 jiwa. Hasil analisis regresi memperlihatkan bahwa variabel modal, tenaga kerja, dan jumlah pupuk memiliki nilai elastisitas yang positif terhadap produksi kelapa sawit. Hal ini berarti bahwa jumlah produksi kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Aceh Utara masih dapat ditingkatkan dengan peningkatan jumlah modal, tenaga kerja dan jumlah penggunaan pupuk.

Food is a basic need that must be met by households. Utilization of home yard land is one of the alternatives to realize food self-sufficiency in households in Dewantara District which iscan save on food expenditure and ensure the fulfillment of household food needs which are always available, easily accessible and can be used at any time. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence household food expenditures that utilize yard land with horticultural cultivation in Dewantara Subdistrict, Aceh Utara. The sample in this study was 60 families who were selected by simple random sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively using multiple linear regression test. The results showed that simultaneously the factorIncome (X1), yard area (X2), number of household members (X3), housewife education (X4), and number of working household members (X5) have a significant effect on food expenditure. Partially, only the income factor (X1) and the number of household members (X3) have a significant effect on household food expenditure.

The aim of IbIKK programme on cultivating pangasius fish in tarpaulin pond specifically for nursing the fish is to develop the pangasius aquaculture in Aceh Province. Therefore, by this programme, society and students could know the method of pangasius cultivating. Moreover, the society could recognize pangasius fish for both its taste and its advantages. This nursing activity is conducted for six months. During production time in activity of nursing pangasius fish in tarpaulin pond, the growth of fish reached 350-400 grams and its survival rate was up to 80%. Furthermore, this IbIKK programme was also carried out for student’s activities such as field work practice, research, and practical in learning activity.Keywords: pangasius fish, tarpaulin pond, cultivating

The cultivation of mushroom in Nisam Subdistrict is constrained by several factors, such as the limited ability of biotechnology breeding and cultivation, marketing and capital. After harvesting, planting media left without any further processing. Moreover, partner farmers has obstacles in terms of marketing and capital limitations for business development. Mushroom cultivation activity was doing by a farmer group "Jamur Nismara" and a farmer group "Tani Jamur" had to stop since the end of 2014 as a consequence. Activities devotion aims to revive the activities of mushroom cultivation that has been there with the technique of better management. The goal to be achieved is a group of reliable and independent farmers. Therefore, the farmers should have knowledge and skills about biotechnology of mushroom cultivation starting from breeding, making the ideal kumbung, correct the cultivation process and processing of planting media waste into compost fertilizer which have an economic value. Farmers must have the ability to access information, especially related to marketing. The methods used are counselling and direct implementation / practice by involving all group members. The results are farmers have kumbung and cultivation ability, marketing, and processing waste media. In addition, farmers also have knowledge about nursery technology. Kecamatan Banda Baro terdapat sembilan gampong dengan jumlah masyarakat miskinnya yang terbilang banyak yaitu berjumlah 1.768 rumah tangga atau sebesar 78,89 persen dari seluruh rumah tangga petani yang ada di Kecamatan Banda Baro. Kegiatan penyuluhan pertanian di Kecamatan Banda Baro diharapkan dapat meningkatkan jumlah produksi pertanian petani, menambah wawasan atau skill petani dalam kegiatan usahatani dan dalam menambah sarana prasarana bagi kelompok tani, disamping layanan umum lain yang dibutuhkan petani agar dapat meningkatkan keberdayaan petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat keberdayaan petani dalam mengelola usahatani di Kecamatan Banda Baro, Aceh Utara. Jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 105 petani dan Jenis data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan sekunder. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif yang diukur menggunakan skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keberdayaan petani dalam mengelola usahatani rata-rata memperoleh nilai indeks sebesar 74,63 persen yang berada pada kategori berdaya artinya petani berdaya dalam melakukan setiap tahapan dalam proses produksi pertanian, berdaya dalam pemasaran hasil karena petani menjalin kerjasama dengan berbagai lembaga pemasaran yang dapat menampung hasil panen petani, berdaya dalam meningkatkan produktivitas usahatani, mampu menjalin kerjasama dengan lembaga agribisnis, dan adanya jaminan keberlanjutan usahatani yang dilakukan petani. Namun, dalam pengadaan sarana produksi pertanian, berada pada kategori kurang berdaya dengan perolehan indeks sebesar 62,33 persen. Kurang berdayanya petani disebabkan ketidakpastian memperoleh pupuk subsidi dan besarnya biaya yang harus dikeluarkan dalam pengadaan sarana produksi.

This research was conducted in North Aceh Sub District, Syamtalira Bayu with a sample of 60 farmers. The purpose of this study was to determine and to analyze the influence of innovation characteristics, characteristics of farmers, and media delivery to the process of innovation adoption of agricultural extension in North Aceh District. The data used is the cross section taken in June 2016 by the planting season beginning in 2016. The research method used is quantitative method by using non-linear regression model. Analysis showed that the adoption of innovation, in this case the pattern Legowo row planting paddy rice by farmers in the district Syamtalira Bayu simultaneously influenced by the complexity, education, and number of outlets. The complexity and number of variables have significantly influence the election cropping paddy rice at the sites.

The use of yard land is carried out to maximize the use of land as a medium for planting commodities that can be used to meet the food needs of the community in Dewantara Sub-Sub-District. Commodities that are cultivated in the yard are horticultural commodities in the form of vegetables, spices, fruits and ornamental plants. Through the use of the yard, households can increase their revenue and save on food expenditure. This study aims to analyze the contribution of yard use to household food revenue and expenditure in Dewantara Sub-Sub-District, Aceh Utara. The research sample was 60 families who used the yard with horticultural cultivation which was determined by simple random sampling. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the use of yards with horticultural cultivation in Dewantara Sub-Sub-District contributed to an increase in household food revenue and expenditure. The average revenue earned by households through the use of yards is 50,045.35 IDR/month. The contribution to the increase in revenue is 1.1% and the contribution to food expenditure is 2.56%. The contribution given from the use of the yard is low, but the use of the yard is very meaningful in meeting household food needs. Households should use the yard optimally, be more innovative, and be carried out sustainably.

The purpose of this service activity is to increase the knowledge regarding white snapper cultivation using modular technology to the aquaculture farmer group in West Lancang Village, North Aceh District. This service activity used a survey, educative, participatory, and persuasive methods. This community service activity consists of several stages, namely: 1) counseling on white snapper cultivation techniques carried out in a modular manner starting from nursery to harvest 2) counseling on business analysis of white snapper, and 3) training on pond water quality measurement methods. The level of success and satisfaction of service participants was carried out using a questionnaire. Based on the analysis of the level of satisfaction and success, 80-90% of pond farmers are satisfied with this service activity. This service activity provides positive knowledge and motivation for pond farmers. In conclusion, this empowerment activity has a positive impact and increases the knowledge of pond farmers in cultivating white snappers with modular technology.

This research is motivated by the farmers who are generally less educated and have amindset that is difficult to be invited to change. The aim of the study was to analyze theimpact of the social characteristics of farmers on rice production in North Aceh district.The data used is a cross section taken in February 2012 based on the growing season in2011. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed thatsocial characteristics turns rice farmers consisting of age, education, number ofdependents and simultaneously farming experience no significant effect on riceproduction in the district of Sawang. While partially, age and farming experiencesignificant effect on the level of confidence of 10% of the rice production.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prospek pengembangan usahatani melon ditinjau dari analisis usahatani di Kecamatan Muara Batu dan Dewantara serta prospek pengembangan usahatani melon di Kecamatan Muara Batu dan Dewantara ditinjau dari segi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman.Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 16 petani. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan deskriptif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa besar pendapatan petani dari usahatani melon di Kecamatan Muara Batu dan Dewantara adalah Rp. 38.746.893/Ha serta biaya produksi dikeluarkan sebesar Rp. 18.043.842/Ha, dan menghasilkan keuntungan sebesar Rp. 20.703.051.Prospek pengembangan usahatani melon di Kecamatan Muara Batu dan Dewantara ditinjau dari segi kekuatan usahatani melon memiliki luas lahan yang cukup serta teknik budidaya, kelemahan dimana belum adanya upaya penanggulangan hama, peluang dimana melon sudah dikenal oleh masyarakat serta adanya ancaman berupa tingginya curah hujan pada waktu tertentu dan pemasaran yang belum stabil.
