Abstract

AbstrakBahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang wajib dikuasai oleh siswa Sekolah Dasar. Namun siswa mengalami kesulitan berkomunikasi karena kurangnya penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris. Hal ini didukung pula dengan pembelajaran di sekolah yang lebih banyak menggunakan buku teks daripada menggunakan metode pembelajaran lain yang lebih menarik sehingga kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini perlu dilakukan di SD Antonius 2 Semarang. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk melatih siswa sekolah dasar berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris untuk mengembangkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan kosakata dengan penggunaan media ular tangga.. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan dengan pelaksanaan penelitian tindakan kelas, yang meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan refleksi. Dengan penggunaan media ular tangga, siswa SD Antonius 2 Semarang semakin terlatih berbicara bahasa Inggris dan menguasai banyak kosakata bahasa Inggris yang ada di sekitar lingkungan mereka. Kata kunci : kosakata, bahasa Inggris, media, ular tangga  AbstractEnglish is one of the subjects that must be mastered by the Elementary School students. This is also supported by learning in schools that uses more textbooks rather than using other learning methods that are more interesting so that this community service activity needs to be done at Antonius 2 Semarang Elementary School. The purpose of this community service activity is to train the Elementary School students to communicate in English to develop vocabulary knowledge and skills with the use of snake ladder media. The method of implementing activities is done through training of conducting classroom action research, which includes the stages of planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection. Abstract

Latar belakang :Diabetes melitus adalah penyakit kronis yang terjadi karena pankreas tidak menghasilkan cukup insulin atau ketika tubuh tidak dapat secara efektif menggunakan insulin yang dihasilkannya. Jika dibandingkan dengan tahun 2013, prevalensi DM berdasarkan diagnosis dokter pada penduduk umum ≥ 15 tahun hasil Riskesdas 2018 meningkat menjadi 2 %. Hiperglikemia dapat berdampak buruk pada berbagai macam organ tubuh seperti neuropati diabetik, ulkus kaki, retinopati diabetik, nefropati diabetik dan gangguan pembuluh darah. Senam ergonomik adalah salah satu dari berbagai macam aktivitas fisik yang paling efektif diberikan kepada penderita diabetes dengan keluhan kurangnya tingkat sensitivitas kaki karena aktivitas senam ergonomik mempunyai manfaat meningkatkan sensitivitas kaki, memperlancar sirkulasi darah, memperkuat otot – otot kecil, mengatasi keterbatasan gerak sendi, mencegah terjadinya kelainan kaki dan meningkatkan kebugaran. Tujuan : Tujuan dari pemberian senam ergonomik ini adalah untuk meningkatkan sensitivitas kaki pasien diabetes melitus yang mengalami neuropati diabetikum sebanyak 20 pasien pada tanggal 06 Juli – 19 Juli 2019. Metode : Prosedur pelaksanaan yaitu pertama menjelaskan kepada pasien mengenai tujuan dalam pemberian latihan fisik senam ergonomik yaitu untuk meningkatkan sensitivitas kaki pada penderita neuropati diabetikum, menjelaskan cara kerja, melakukan pemeriksaan sensitivitas kaki dengan menggunakan monofilament test sebelum dilakukan senam ergonomik, melakukan senam ergonomik 1 kali sehari selama 14 hari dan pada hari terakhir melakukan test sensitivitas kaki dengan menggunakan monofilament test. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu terdapat peningkatan sensitifitas kaki pada pasien diabetes mellitus yang mengalami neuropati diabetikum dengan hasil rata – rata peningkatan sensitivitas kaki kiri setelah dilakukan senam ergonomik 1 kali sehari selama 14 hari sebesar 8,55 dan rata – rata peningkatan sensitivitas kaki kanan setelah dilakukan senam ergonomik 1 kali sehari selama 14 hari sebesar 8,5.

Abstract

This research discusses the form of modality and the meaning of modality in English learning process using role play method. This research discusses the form of modality and the meaning of modality in English learning process using role play method. Objective to describe the form of modality and to explain the meaning of modality. The form of modality that is used in speaking is deontic modality with the modal verbs such as “must, has to atau have to, should, can/could” and the meanings of modality which are found, are order/necessity modality and permission modality. Descriptive qualitative with equal pragmatic methods. The data were taken from the conversation of role play which contained modal verbs. The sampling of the research were used randomly when the nursing students did role play of giving health education with diet program theme. firstly, the main form of modality in the conversation of role play using modal verb “can and will”. Secondly the meaning of modality which is often found in conversation of role play is deontic modality for asking permission. The nursing students are able to use English modal verbs correctly in role play learning process.

Abstract

This research discusses the form of request and the strategy of request in English learning process using role play method. Objective: to describe the form of request and the strategy of request in English learning process using role play method. Method: descriptive qualitative with equal pragmatic methods using theory of Edmondson and House and Aijmer. The data were taken from role play conversation which contained speech act of request. The total sampling were used 20 groups when the nursing students did role play of giving health education. Data methods used listening and direct observation (participatory observation). Results: firstly, speech acts of assertive request in English learning that often used in role play conversations are "you can .., you must (have to), you should ... you had better" and tentative requests for speech acts are "can you ...?, And would you ...? ". Secondly The speech act of the request strategy asserts that it is possible for the hearer to do something and asks for permission to do something. Conclusions: the form and the strategy of requests are found in English learning process using role play method.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang tingkat kepuasaan mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran daring selama masa pandemi covid-19 di Stikes St. Elisabeth. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran daring selama masa pandemi covid-19 di Stikes St. Elisabeth. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan dekriptif kuantitatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran angket/kuesioner secara online. Jumlah sampel adalah 55 mahasiswa prodi Diploma Keperawatan Stikes St. Elisabeth saat semester ganjil 2020/2021. Teknik sampel mengambil total sampling dengan analisis univariat menggunakan distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian adalah mahasiswa merasa puas terhadap peran dosen dalam membantu mahasiswa saat perkuliahan daring (63.6%) dan evaluasi pembelajaran daring (56.4%). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar mahasiswa merasa kurang puas terhadap pembelajaran daring yang dilakukan di Stikes St. Elisabeth Semarang.

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of the effectiveness of online learning media for the students during the covid-19 pandemic. This research is to know the effectiveness of online media for the students during the covid 19 pandemic. The method used is quantitative descriptive research with a total sampling of students of Stikes St. Elisabeth Semarang during the online learning process by giving questionnaires related to online learning media during the covid-19 period. The results obtained that most of the students at Stikes St. Elisabeth often uses Google Meet (GM) learning media and likes online learning through Google Meet (GM). The most frequently used feature of GM is the presentation form. The conclusion is that GM is an effective and efficient learning media during the covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This research discusses the use of the conjunction markers in the students’ English narrative compositions. The aims of the research are to describe the use of the conjunction markers and to explain the mistakes of using the conjunction markers in English composition. The methods of the research are descriptive qualitative and distributional methods. The data were taken from the students’ narrative compositions and were analyzed by the researcher using theories of cohesion proposed by Halliday & Hasan (1976). The results of the research are firstly, the use of conjunction markers is “and, but, although, when, after, because and so”. Secondly some mistakes of using conjunction markers are found in repetition, omission and substition of conjunction markers, in missing of coma punctuation after conjunctions and omission of semantic relations among sentences. Abstract

This research discusses the interruption that emerged in the conversation of English learning process in Stikes St. Elisabeth Semarang. The aims of the research are to describe the forms and the functions of interruption, of overlap and the adjacency pairs. The methods of the research are descriptive qualitative method, and unified method. The data were taken from conversation of English learning process that took place in Stikes St. Elisabeth Semarang. The data were analyzed by the researcher using the interruption theories from Beattie, Wardhaugh, Jefferson, etc. The result of the research shows that firstly, the forms of the interruption which are often found by the researcher in conversation of English learning process in Stikes St. Elisabeth Semarang, are overlap, smooth speaker-switch interruption, and simple interruption while the functions of the interruption are to ask question, to seek clarification, to correct and to complete the conversation. The forms of overlap often used, are transition onsets while the functions of overlap are often used to complete and to seek clarification. Secondly, the adjacency pairs are often used the forms of request followed explaining, and of question followed answer. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that has hit all countries shows an important function of organizing K3 for each field of work. In addition to ensuring the workplace is safe to use, K3 is very important to ensure health and limit the spread of viruses that are easily transmitted. That way, the application of K3 in the work area is key in protecting the health of workers and their families. Community service activities aim to conduct socialization related to occupational safety and health (K3) to construction workers CV DRB (Domen Rancang Bangun) in the STIKes St. Elisabeth. This is important in an effort to prevent the spread of the Corona virus at work sites. Various efforts need to be made to prevent the spread of the Covid - 19 virus in the work environment in the application of the new normal, including the creation and dissemination of health protocol SOP in areas / building locations in the STIKes environment. The method used in this activity is by planning, implementing, observing and evaluating the implementation of K3 socialization in a new normal situation for construction workers. The result of this service activity is the creation, installation and socialization of educational media in the form of posters and banners as a means of media for health education for the New Normal Covid-19 in the STIKes St. Elisabeth, the increasing form of caring for others in the New Normal Covid -19 life pattern in the STIKes St. Elisabeth by providing guaranteed protection facilities for workers from the corona virus by providing masks and hand washing facilities.
