Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate research trends on Inquiry STEM topic in the context of physics education and conduct a bibliometric analysis to understand the development of research in this domain. Data were collected from the Scopus database using keywords relevant to Inquiry STEM and physics. The approach used in the analysis was the bibliometric method by utilising the Scopus database and VOSviewer, which resulted in 62 relevant documents. The results showed that the use of Inquiry STEM in physics education has become an increasingly popular topic over the past ten years, despite fluctuations in publication rates. This indicates potential challenges that need to be further explored in the future. Further research of Inquiry STEM in physics education could be helpful in improving students' critical thinking skills and motivation, given the evidence that this instructional model has demonstrated effectiveness in improving students' problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and motivation. However, it's worth noting that this research has limitations due to its sole reliance on one database, namely Scopus, for data collection. Therefore, it is advisable for future research on Inquiry STEM in physics education to incorporate the utilization of other databases besides Scopus to ensure a broader range of data is considered.

Abstract

Listening is an essential skill in learning a foreign language since it may support the learners in understanding the input and their language development. However, the students faced some difficulties in mastering their listening skills. The teacher needs to support the students by implementing the right approach and giving them a suitable listening strategy. One of the listening strategies that might help students control their learning and solve their problems is metacognitive listening. Moreover, task-based approach is one of the approaches that aid the teacher in promoting a metacognitive listening strategy. Focusing on a task-based approach and metacognitive listening strategy, this study aims to determine whether implementing a task-based approach can help the students understand how to use metacognitive listening strategy. The study was conducted with a case study as the research design. In addition, the data of this study were collected through interview and observation. The participant of this study was the teacher in one senior high school in Gresik. The data showed that implementing a task-based approach is beneficial for promoting the use of metacognitive listening strategy for senior high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore students' perceptions of Mobile-Cipta Puisi (MCP), a digital learning application designed to foster creativity and enhance the learning experience in poetry writing. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach utilizing a survey design. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire covering two main aspects: students’ responses to the application's format and usefulness, and their reactions, including interest and self-confidence. A total of 126 tenth-grade high school students from five schools in Garut Regency participated as respondents. The collected data were analyzed descriptively using descriptive statistical methods. The results indicate a notably positive reception of MCP, with an average score of 83% across both measured aspects. Features such as relaxation music, the ability to save and share poetry, and access to inspirational poems were particularly appreciated for making the poetry-writing process both enjoyable and accessible. A novel contribution of this research lies in the development and testing of MCP as a poetic learning tool that not only offers a digital writing medium but also integrates emotional and collaborative support features elements that are rarely found in similar applications within the context of Indonesian literary education.
