Abstract

This research aims to determine students' conceptual understanding using the PMRI learning approach with the context of cotton rope in the Pythagorean theorem material on students' conceptual understanding in class VIII SMP NEGERI 2 Pagaralam. The obstacle faced by students in studying the Pythagorean Theorem is a lack of understanding of the basic concepts in the Pythagorean theorem material. One method that can strengthen understanding of concepts in learning mathematics is Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI). The research method used was experimental using a control group Pre-test - Post-test design. This research involved 2 classes, namely the experimental and control classes. Data collection techniques include observation and tests, the analysis techniques used are documentation, observation and tests. Based on test data analysis, the average student score in the experimental class was 78.8, while the control class had a score of 72.50. From the research results, students' conceptual understanding was found to be better using PMRI with comparison results in the experimental class being better than in the control class.

Abstract

Trust will influence a person's choices, including selecting leaders. Therefore, this study wanted to see the influence of student democracy satisfaction on the interest in political involvement. This research utilizes a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population of this research is all students from public and private universities since 2014/2015 who are in all areas of Java, using a proportional random sampling technique. The data analysis technique used is directed at testing the hypotheses that have been formulated. The research results from 272 re-spondents among students on the island of Java, and the first hypothesis shows that the t-value is 1.001 < 1.969 and the significance value is 0.318 > 0.05. The second hypothesis shows a t-value of 2.744 > 1.969 and a signifi-cance value of 0.006 < 0.05. The third hypothesis shows an F-count value of 4.212 > 3.049 and a significance value of 0.016 < 0.05. It can be concluded that there is no significant influence on the variable of student trust in gov-ernment and interest in political involvement. In contrast, the variable satis-faction with democracy on interest in political involvement has a significant influence. The influence that satisfaction with democracy has on interest in political involvement is positive. However, student trust in government and satisfaction with democracy influence interest in political involvement. The research results imply that satisfaction with democracy is an essential factor in efforts to increase interest in political involvement. The suggestion that is expected to provide material for consideration is that further research is needed on student satisfaction with democracy to determine student satisfac-tion with democracy.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of using Twitter/X on student voting behavior in the 2024 election. Methodology: This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The in-strument used was developed by the researcher through variable indicators of Twitter/X usage and voter behavior. The sample was taken using propor-tional sampling, and the data collection technique used a questionnaire dis-tributed to 363 students. Results: Based on the formulation of the problems raised in this study, it was found that the use of Twitter/X has a significant influence on student voter behav-ior, which can be grouped into four groups, namely rational, critical, tradi-tional, and skeptical. The results of this study indicate that student voter be-havior is dominated by the rational, as many as 147 or 40.5% of students, while as many as 59.5% still need improvement. Applications/Originality/Value: This research is important because it classifies the orientation of student vot-er behavior and uses measurements based on indicators of Twitter/X use in-cluding participation, openness, conversation, community, and connected-ness and uses indicators of voter behavior including participation in demon-strations, discussions, solidarity actions, and consolidation. From the results of this study, efforts need to be made to improve student voter behavior, which can be done through Pancasila education by improving digital literacy skills through the use of Twitter/X as a learning medium, Pancasila education learning needs to utilize Twitter/X because Twitter/X is a popular social me-dia used, and can significantly improve student voter behavior.

Abstract

Kampung Linggang Tering Seberang has significant aquaculture potential and plays an important role in providing nutrition from fish, especially in the Tering District. Constraints related to fish feed and diseases have caused this business to not develop well. Improving understanding related to fish farming activities, especially the independent provision of fish feed and disease control, is important so that interest in fish farming continues to grow. This training was conducted at the Village Hall of Kampung Lenggang Tering Seberang, with a total of 20 participants from the Pokdakan in the vicinity of Kampung Lenggang Tering Seberang. The training activities are conducted with the delivery of theory and practice. The training results show that the interest of fish farmers has increased in understanding the process of making fish feed with simple formulations and the production of fish probiotics. This is evident from the enthusiasm of the fish farmers during the Q&A session and the high level of engagement in the practical activities. The participants' understanding of the function of fish feed increased from 15% to 85%, while the understanding of the function of feed for growth increased from 45% to 75%, for disease prevention from 45% to 65%, and for fish health from 10% to 50%. The participants' understanding of the good feed content, which should include protein, fat, and carbohydrates, increased from 30% to 75%. Meanwhile, the participants' response before the training regarding the selection of feed raw materials showed that 60% chose bran flour, but after the training, the participants' response shifted to fish meal with a percentage reaching 75%.
